Food was superb. Service was great — atmosphere was… interesting! We opted to eat outside and enjoyed people watching :) I ordered the Filet Mignon… melted in my mouth! The chimichurri was awesome — we had the cobia ceviche as an appetizer — VERY good. I did not like the wine I chose for dinner and the server quickly exchanged my glass for something else I liked. I would return — the best meal we had during our trip to Miami Beach.

First of all the restaurant moved to a different location and I wasn’t aware of it. We got there late and the place looks pretty dead. The staffs there was great and their service was excellent. For the price that was on the menu, the food didn’t reach my expectation. Everything tasted bland and not as well as you think an high end place would taste like. I had steak and it wasn’t even cook the way I had requested. I guess I read the reviews from Unilocal that’s how I end up booking this restaurant that I that would be great.

Kim C. said it best! 7 girls were visiting Miami for a bachelorette party and decided to dine here on Friday night. The owner Zach was such a pleasure and actually sat with us at our table for a majority of the night which we didn’t mind one bit! We had chocolate cake shots, and for drinks we had a few rounds of magic city. The serrano and fig salad was good, the braised pork was delish and the sweet potato gnocchi was also great. At the end, the kitchen made a fun little cake for the bride to be. The wait staff was amazing all night. We literally closed the place down. I would definitely come back here on my next visit to Miami!!!

After a visits at the original location I had dinner at the new location in the Shelbourne Hotel. I really loved the original location, it was small, cozy and had a vibe to it. It did not have any of the pretentious south beach vibe that you experience at many places in the area. Now the new location, inside the Shelbourne hotel. First, Valet parking is $ 20. So try to park elsewhere. We walked into the hotel and the people inside were definitely more of the tourist south beach crowd. We sat inside, in the room that looks like a train car. It is dark and very nice. Again, totally different feel that the original location. There is a full bar, which makes very good drinks. There is also outdoor seating, but I was not interested in sitting outside by the pool with the large crowd of people walking around. I also noticed several of the same waitstaff at this location. The food was just as good and the service was excellent. The fellow diners were of course, of a different type than before. There were people with some loud children and a very large and loud group on the other side of the room. I enjoyed my experience, but I really do miss the intimate casual dining room location. There was a certain charm and feel that is missing now.

I would have to agree with all the other Unilocalers. This place is a gem compared to the other touristy restaurants found in Miami. Very small venue(looks like 30 – 45 people max?) A good number of staff(majority of which worked out on the open kitchen) Décor is homey and warm… photos, chandelier, and dark wood… food… had it family style. few appetizers, few main dishes, their amazing dessert. everything was delicious. My favorite in order… 1. their dessert. Patagonia. delicious. not overly sweet. airy. lovely. 2. the fish. cobia. flaky. well seasoned. 3. the pasta. sweet potato gnocchi. unique. 4. brussel sprouts. i love brussel sprouts. and this place does it well. Bottle of wine… nice slow meal. The service was great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Miami. great for dates and family dinner and girls night out.

Oh. My. Goodness. I did not know such great food in such an intimate environment existed on South Beach! This restaurant is small. Our party of six took up almost half of the indoor dining area, but that is part of the charm. There is a small open kitchen along one wall that is a hubbub of activity. It is well ventilated, though, without too many distracting(delicious) smells reaching the tables. immediately upon being seated they provide you with warm bread, truffle butter and spicy homemade pickles. Delicious! We went through easily a half-cup of that truffle butter. Amazing. Our starters were also very good. We ordered a few ceviches which were delicious, scallops which were delicious and pork belly which was so good it was beyond delicious. I knew I was in for a treat the rest of the meal when I tried the veggies that went along with the pork belly — they were caramelized perfection! If a chef is going to make sure the veggie garnishes on an appetizer are so wonderful you know everything else will be good. Main courses ordered varied from the rib-eye(which was huge) to the seafood soup(delish!). Everything was cooked perfectly. My favorites were the roast pork and the fillet mignon«chursaco». The churasco dish confused me because, growing up in Miami, I equate chursasco with a skirt steak. They cut the tenderloin lengthwise and grill it with a chimichurri sauce and it is great. My rib-eye was huge, more than enough for two people to share but you are better off getting a doggie bag and trying a second entrée. The brussel sprouts sides were another hit at dinner. Soooo good! They are shredded with toasted cashews and cooked perfectly. Our party did not order dessert, but we since it was one of our friend’s birthday they brought out a meringue encrusted pannacotta thing that was amazing. When I go back, and I definitely will, I will try my hardest to save room for desert. All in all I believe this place that lives up to the hype and makes me happy to live on South Beach.

They serve you bread with truffle butter as soon as you sit down. I could stop there, but I won’t. The first time I went we ordered a few appetizers. My husband ordered scallops which I usually dislike, but these were so good I basically finished his plate(sorry hubby). Pretty much everything I’ve ordered here has been delicious. The place small and intimate. Great for a date. We chatted with the owner one night and he was awesome. This is a great alternative to the enormous South Beach hotel chain restaurants.

I really love this place! If you go during the right time of year and the Miami weather is forgiving sit outside! Its small but cozy, the food is fabulous and inventive and just a bit away from the hustle and bustle of south beach without being too far away from the water. 1. Cobia Ceviche — I promised myself I wouldnt eat ceviche from any place other than ceviche 105 but the description of the dish just sounded so interesting. «served with grapefruit sorbet» seems odd but it really does bring out the flavor of the ceviche. Highly recommend! 2. Duck Salad — I wont lie. I picked around the lima beans and kumquats but the dish overall was great. The duck was grilled so that it was juicy with just a bit of crispy to the meat. Delicious! 3. Serrano Ham and Fig Salad — Not my cup of tea so I didnt even try. But reviews from the table was that it was«quite nice» 4. Cashew Brussels Sprouts — I have never looked at brussels sprouts the same way; nor will I eat them anywhere else. 5. Branzino — never heard of this fish dish so I thought, why not give it a whirl? It does not disappoint! There was a churrsasco and pan roasted organic chicken also on the table; normally I am never order fish and always prefer chicken or beef over seafood any day. However, the dish was a perfect balance to the rich starters I had. It was light but filling, flavorful without being rich! I recommend this over the chicken or beef any day! The only reason I couldnt give the Dining Room 5 full stars was that the desserts were disappointing. We ordered one of each so got to do the full tasting and each one just paled to the dinner. I would say come here for dinner but go somewhere else for dessert … and the waiter would agree!

Came here last night for dinner w a couple friends. We had made reservations for 9:30, but when we showed up, they didn’t have a table ready. They were very apologetic and even offered each of us a free glass of wine. We were seated about 30 mins later, just enough time to finish our free wine. The food was amazing. I had the cobia ceviche to start and the grouper entrée. Both were perfect. We were again blown away w the service when our waiter accidentally brought a filet instead of the rib eye we had ordered, we were again greeted by a round of free wine. And the rib eye came right out. I’ve never had service like this in Miami. And the food was perfect too

My friend wanted to take me out for dinner and recommended The Dining Room. I perused the menu online first. After seeing the good variety of fishes, meats, and pastas I agreed that it was a good choice. Upon our arrival, we appreciated that we were able to choose between indoor and outdoor seating. There was only 1 table left indoors in the corner near the kitchen. Once seated(outdoors)we were served Italian bread slices with soft garlic butter and cuke salad served in cute mason jars. We then ordered: Cobia ceviche: absolutely delicious: flavorful, fresh and tantalizing to every taste bud. Calamari salad-freshly grilled, very tasty. Branzino: grilled whole with the head and bones removed. This was my second favorite dish and I would return here just to have it again. Very large portion as well. Rack of lamb: I’m a vegetarian, but my friend said it was very tasty. Side dishes must be ordered separately so we tried the Brussel sprouts. they are roasted with olive oil and cashews. Very delicious as well. For dessert we tried the mini key lime pies. Very yummy and a perfect way to end the meal. What would have made it more perfect would have been some coffee with dessert, but they were«out of coffee»(how is that possible?) Still, this place is my new yummy favorite in Sobe.

I had most certainly been eating quite well before, but The Dining Room provided my first real«wow» food experience in Miami. It’s always great to visit a restaurant just as they’re hitting their stride of success, and you could tell this place was most definitely peaking. The ambiance, food, service, design, everything clicked and provided a spectacular beginning for a night dedicated to relaxed indulgence. For a moment I considered sitting out on their patio, because when you’re escaping DC’s weather you want to be outside as often as possible, but then I noticed how cute and quaint( ) and still refined it was inside, and I’m a huge sucker for open kitchens, so I decided to grab the only remaining open table for the evening. I love [relatively] late dinner service at nice places, the staff seems so much calmer, and the kitchen usually delivers flawless dishes when they have less of a rush going on. The setting here really does the restaurant’s name justice, and reminds me a lot of Ten Tables in Boston( ). Food, to me, feels more comforting in an intimate setting, and I will almost always choose places like this over their large, sprawling, marble-laden counterparts. They start you off right here, with a bread and butter assortment( ) unlike any I’ve encountered before. The bread itself is rather unremarkable, but its accompaniments certainly are not. The butter is infused with truffle oil for spreading, and there’s a jar of marinated cucumbers to lay out on top, or just eat, whatever your inclination. I found the combination to be profound and I really wish more places would be so creative with what is essentially your first taste impression with their restaurant. My first actual course wound up being my clear favorite of the evening, and I would say that it’s worth coming here just to have it if you don’t have time for a full meal. The scallops wrapped in Serrano ham with a foie gras sherry sauce, served atop an herb crostini, are such a flavor filled dish and richly hedonistic that they are not to be missed. Wrapping stuff in bacon is cool, I’m all for it, but Serrano adds a completely different element and these scallops were massive to begin with. Seriously, don’t contemplate, just order it. I paired them with the grilled lamb chops( ) served over a Romesco sauce(typically red pepper, various nuts such as almond or hazelnut, and roasted garlic and olive oil), a dish that while executed masterfully, especially as far as cooking the lamb was concerned, had a hard time competing with its predecessor. The main course was visually stunning, a whole branzino fish with lemon mashed potatoes, an artichoke escabeche, and oregano oil, and covered( ) in juicy onions, peppers, and tomatoes. The fish itself was cooked perfectly, and was lightly flaky and easy to de-bone, but I thought it really lacked the flavor punch I was expecting from such a brilliant presentation. The mashed potatoes were good, but I questioned the pairing with the fish… perhaps if the skin had been done crispier then it would have made more sense. It was a fine dish and satisfied my craving for fish while in Miami, but I really regretted not going with the crispy braised pork with white bean purée or the Prime NY strip with its smoked mashed potatoes and Chanterelle mushroom sides. I got the impression from other visitors that dessert was pretty much expected here, a tradition I’m certainly OK with, and it turned out to be rather unlike anything I had experienced before, although not quite as epic as the tales had described. They do a twist on the traditional Baked Alaska dish, replacing it with Patagonia( ), using pistachio as the cake base, dulce de leche ice cream inside, and an Italian style meringue on the exterior, which is then drizzled with a passion fruit sauce. The inner portion really is spectacular, with the cake and ice cream combination being just absolutely perfect together, but I didn’t really care for the meringue and the passion fruit sauce was just kind of dormant for such a lively fruit. I could easily just knock out a bowl of that dulce de leche ice cream over the pistachio cake on a night when I want to sit on the couch and feel sorry for myself. Luckily for me, I don’t really ever do that, and even if I did there’s no time for it in Miami Beach, so The Dining Room exists so that I can pretend and indulge myself all the same. It’s been a while since I visited I’m guessing the word has gotten out about this place and it’s already tough to get in, but don’t let that deter you!

I tried to have dinner at the Dining Room this evening with my spouse. Unfortunately we had to leave midway through our meal since the management refused to close their front door. It was a 59 degree evening with 35mph wind. They wouldn’t close their door to stop the wind from whistling through. We were freezing. Despite our requests to either turn off the a/c or otherwise remedy the chill, nothing was done with regard to the door. So, after we were done with our apps we cancelled our entrees. I’m not about to favor them with another $ 60+ in business if they held our comfort with such little regard. All I can comment on is the service and our apps. My spouse ordered a tomato salad which was simple and fresh. However it was loaded with scorching hot chile peppers that weren’t mentioned in the description. I ordered their ham wrapped scallops. They were overcooked and fishy tasting. I left much of the dish uneaten. Their beverage list made no mention of beer. I asked the waiter If they served beer. He replied with their 3 offerings. Corona, Amstel and Heineken. Pretty meager. The restaurant is tiny. At a neighboring table there was a drunken bridal party. The screaming went on without response by management. The place was way too loud. Aside from our waiter’s inability to remedy the temperature of the surroundings, service was adequate.

Happy Birthday to me! After a brief masquerade love affair with this restaurant during Miami Spice(Who IS that man? He’s so charming! And his kisses taste like truffles…) I chose to come here to celebrate my twenty-eighth year of life. The service is great, and I love that they list everyone working on the back of the menu, almost like a play bill. Because great service should be as graceful as a well choreographed ballet. They all but had toe shoes. The cobia civiche is delicious, bright, refrescant. The bacon wrapped scallop is a bacon wrapped scallop– TOWIT — amazing. Beyond the ordinary amazing. For the first dinner of my personal new year, I chose the sweet potato gnocchi with brown butter sage, lemon and mushrooms. It was to drool for. Every plate we ordered went back nearly licked clean.(My mother always said plate licking is unbecoming after age 27.) To me, that is the true test of a great meal. Though I guess it could also be the sign of a very hungry person of questionable palate as well. But in this case, it was certainly the former.

Miami’s culinary scene just keeps getting better and better. After having this place bookmarked for so long hubby had gone here the night before with a work colleague and I was like say what, you went without me. Ha, so of course I made him take me the very next night because all he did was brag about it. The dining room has seating inside and outside and the night was perfect, beautiful breeze, and the restaurant was packed. We did not have reservations but they got us a quaint little table outside immediately, no waiting, score! To my surprise the menu is small, about eight or so different appetizers, a few salads, and about eight entrees. So nice when a restaurant has a small menu on what they do great plus who can make a decision when their are so many items to choose from. I ordered the Filet Churassco, yes yes butterfly with chimichurri excellent sauce on top. The Filet, was juicy, tender, and the chimichurri was excellent. I did order it Medium rare, and it was a tad over cooked but still very tasty. We also shared the smoked mashed potatoes, they were good if you like smoky flavor. I ordered a Malbec that paired beautifully with the steak. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. The owners both stopped by as I watched them touch every table and thanking customers for supporting them. Very cool touch and such a nice couple. Good service, great food, check them out and the prices were reasonable. Also, this is the first time I did not have to ask for more bread. I love my carbs and they bring you a freshly cut baguette with truffle butter, need I say more… Carb’s at it’s best!

SEARCHFORTHEBLACKPEPPERMARSHMALLOW has ended. I tried it! It was the best part of the best dish of the evening: the«Beets and Beets» salad from the Miami Spice menu. I purchased a «Travelzoo» deal for a 3 course meal for two. It couldn’t be used on Saturdays and on Friday, it was only good between 6:00 and 7:00. This is much earlier than we usually dine, but we decided to take the boat, dock at Monty’s and walk over to The Dining Room for an early dinner at 6:30. We were the first table of the evening, and I’m afraid they weren’t thrilled to see us come in. We decided to sit indoors because at that time of day, the sun is still up and it was a little too warm outside. The interior of the restaurant is tiny, almost closet-like. There’s an open kitchen along one side of the room, and in a space this small you really feel close to the cooks. They started us off with their famous bread and truffle butter. I love truffle as much as the next pseud, but the bread was bad. Maybe they hadn’t received the daily delivery of baguettes yet. We were served toasted rounds of French bread, cold and crumby. Then came the delightful beet salad. I was really excited to try the marshmallow, but when I took the first bite, I didn’t get any. It also has crumbled goat cheese, so when I looked at the salad, the marshmallows were completely camouflaged. The waiter was kind enough to bring some extra marshmallows on the side, and they were everything I’d hoped for. Fantastic spicy sweet flavor, soft chewy texture. YUM. Two other notable dishes were Mr. Wonderful’s NY steak and the baked Patagonia dessert. The Patagonia is an impressive dulce de leche mystery wrapped inside a pistachio cake enigma. I just about licked the plate. If we go back, we’ll go on a cool evening and sit outside. The«Travelzoo» thing wasn’t the best introduction. We just didn’t really feel welcome. Maybe the fact that there were NO women working there at all had something to do with the mildly abrasive atmosphere. However, stellar food saved the day. Someone with some serious talent crafted that menu.

Do you want to eat a place SMALLER than the dining room in your house? If yes, eat here! This place is T.I.N.Y; literally like a total of 6 tables inside that, at most, fit approximately 25 guests. Most of their tables are outside so if getting drenched in sweat from the Miami heat is your thang, you should eat here! The Wine: The Reds were very dry and they did not have a good selection, at all. The bread/butter: the bread was plain white bread cut into little pieces. Nothing special. but the butter(infused with truffle oil) is amazing! Only GREAT thing about this place! My main course: «filet mignon churrasco» — wahhh! First of all, how is it a filet mignon churrasco??? A filet mignon is from a completely different part of the cow than a churrasco; it is ridiculous to call it this. Anyways, once I got the plate I wanted a) more flavor and b) a side dish!(they only threw some tomatoes on my plate and called it a day. The service: Our server disappeared after taking our order. He never came back until after we were done eating and THEN asked us how everything tasted? ummm… no! This place was no bueno. I do not recommend @ all.

When they named this place«The Dining Room» I didn’t really think it’d be the size of a dining room. It’s a real small place but their food is pretty big on flavors. Actually, most of their tables are outside the restaurant which makes The Dining Room a great place to dine at night when the weather is cooperating. It’s pretty cool out there but be warned of mosquitoes buzzing around. I ordered the Rack Of Lamb from a very limited menu. It was the most expensive thing on the menu but it was delicious. Too bad I was still stuffed from a ice cream pig out earlier in the afternoon though. I had to share my meal willingly which, when delicious, I’m not very reluctant to do. Oh well! I had a little room to a share a dessert. We ended up choosing the Baked Patagonia that everyone seems to rave about. I don’t really get it. It wasn’t all that. What was suppose to be a symphony of different flavors in my mouth turned out to be a hoedown of broken rhythms that slaughtered my taste buds. Sure it looks fun and maybe delicious to eat, but in the end it disappointed with its lack of substance. The service here is excellent. Our waiter felt like a seasoned veteran. The waitstaff definitely made the experience here a comfortable night out. The 4-stars I gave is mainly due to the outstanding service this restaurant offers.

It’s really 3.5 stars, as the quality of the food is great but we simply weren’t blown away, given the location and prices. They did a nice job setting up a white fence and white table clothes outside but it doesn’t change the fact that the«patio» is a Washington Avenue side walk and you get blasted by whatever ghetto music the cars stopped at the light right next to your table are playing. The service was good, not great. Let’s start with the complimentary bread. It wasn’t warm. It takes such little effort to heat up the bread, yet it makes such a big difference. What the cold stale bread lacked was made up in the truffle butter, which was wonderful. They also serve you a small bowl of home made pickled cole slaw, a nice fresh touch. We ordered the serrano wrapped scallops for an appetizer. The foie gras cream sauce they are served with is delectable, but again, for $ 12 you get three jumbo scallops; at other places and they give you two for the same price or less. The filet mignon was great, tender, juicy, flavorful. I found it a tad undercooked. I had ordered it medium rare but it was pretty much rare. The menu description of a side of heirloom tomato salad with blue cheese is a joke, as you pretty much receive four half inch cubes of tomato drizzled with balsamico and barely-there crumbs of cheese, no greens whatsoever. The $ 28 price is ambitious considering you have to order a side item along with your steak. Reality check, you are no Prime 112. BF ordered the shredded pork. The menu does not specify what cut of pork you receive. When I asked our waiter he described it as pork butt and in the same breath as loin, which are two entirely different cuts of pork; one very lean, the other very fatty. Loin won’t shred when slow cooked so it wasn’t difficult to figure out it is the fattier and much less expensive pork butt. Again, that being considered, the $ 22 price a tad high for the 5 oz serving you get. Dessert… The website menu features a bread pudding, which is one of my favorite and something I had been looking forward to. It is no longer on the menu. Disappointed, we skipped dessert alltogether and headed to Clarkes for their awesome chocolote fudge brownie instead.

my husband is deserving of all good things(food included). for his birthday, i knew i wanted to treat him to a special meal. and since he trusts my palate, i gave him absolutely no clue where he was going to eat. i’m a good wife, i know. thanks to a lovely little thing called groupon, we ate $ 40 worth for $ 20. the food was so good that i would have paid full price any damn way. it’s located on the beach, and as you know, parking in the beach can be challenging. luckily, we found parking quickly and nearby. service: on point. our waiter, Jose, was so welcoming. he gave his recommendations on a few dishes and was very knowledgeable about the food. food: superb. we ordered the cobia ceviche to start and it was about 2 to 74 notches above any other ceviche i’ve tasted. it comes with a little piece of grapefruit sorbet. and yes, it’s a strange combination, but it works! as an entrée, i had the starter duck salad which certainly was not starter size. it was huge and so incredibly fresh and delicious. the birthday boy had the filet mignon churrasco which can only be described as celestial. great food + great service = winning combination.
