We were leured in by the the 19.95 $ dinner with a drink & appetizers only to find that they charged 18% gratuity when we were only 3 ppl dinning. The food was disgusting, our penne alfredo with shrimp only had 4 shrimp & tasted like popcorn because the butter they cooked the shrimp in must have been over cooked. Our friend ordered the skewered shrimp w/something they called French fries but was actually over cooked shoe string potatoes with NOTASTE! 76 $ later we were completely ripped off by our first meal on our Miami vacation. It completely sucked!

My hubby and I wanted to give this place a try b/c they had oysters for cheap and a cheap ribeye plate. Yes, shame on me for going to a seafood restaurant and ordering steak! LOL! But you can’t beat $ 15 for a ribeye and I figured«how bad can it be?» Well, first of all, we ordered oysters for our appetizer. While waiting for our food to come out, there was a couple at the table next to us who got their oyster order and said the oysters were bad! I thought, maybe it was their batch. But then their food came out(crab legs and what not) and they said that was bad too! I thought maybe they just had high expectations or something and we still waited patiently for our oysters to come out. It still didn’t come out so I reminded the waiter about it. The couple next to us urged us not to get the oysters b/c it was really bad. We took that into consideration while we waited for our food. Guess what, our steaks came out first! This really annoyed me, but I still wanted to give them a try. I cut into the steak and it’s well-done! Both my hubby and I had ordered RARE! It wasn’t a little overcooked, it was completely overcooked! I told our waiter about both the oysters and the overcooked steak and he looked at me like he didn’t know what the hell I was talking about. I called another waiter over and said we wanted to cancel everything b/c 1. oysters never came out and 2. steaks were way overcooked. He went in to the restaurant and came back out and apologized and we left. Our original waiter never even apologized! I would not recommend going to this restaurant and I didn’t even eat here yet!

Scammers — I was on Lincoln Road with several friends and the employees outside stopped us and offered us half off our entrees if we ate there. We looked at the menu and again they said it would be half off our entrees so we decided to give them a shot. The food was good but when the bill came there was no discount. We asked them about it and there was no discount and no one offered us any such thing. They refused to give us any discount. They are liars and should be avoided at all costs.

My girlfriend and I just dined here. We chose Starfish because we wanted seafood and I read a couple of decent reviews on Unilocal. Our experience was not so pleasant. We had dinner around 6 on a Sunday sitting outside like most of the restaurants on Lincoln. The service was friendly. We ordered one of the suggested meals — the seafood grill, which is lobster, crab claws, shrimp and muscles cooked in garlic butter with a side of rice. Even if this meal cost half of much as it did, we still would have been disappointed. Everything was overcooked and rubbery(worst lobster I’ve ever had). I’m no chef, but I could have cooked a better meal. I feel like chefs who cook seafood at a seafood restaurant should know how to cook seafood. Right? We didn’t make a big deal, but when our server asked us if everything was okay, we expressed to him that it wasn’t very good. He apologized but didn’t offer any suggestions on how to fix it. I’m not sure if he didn’t know how to respond to a complaint, or maybe management doesn’t care. We didn’t see or ask to speak to management, so it’s our fault. We’re just easy going. But, with the high price tag and below average food, I would suggest to try one of the many other restaurants in the area.

My girls and I spotted this hidden gem among the myriad of restaurants on Lincoln Rd. We were starved after flying and checking into our hotel so when we saw they had a whole main lobster for $ 19.99 we knew we had to stop and look at the menu. We were impressed with the menu so we were seated inside this quaint little restaurant that had a urban loft like feel to it. There was only 1 server and man was he busy! He was running back and forth between us and another table outside. They started us with some bread and butter and I decided to go with the clam chowder and crab cake as an appetizer. Both were unbelievably fresh and delish. The crab cake was super crispy and you could really taste the freshness of the crab. The chowder was just thick enough and had a wonderful flavor from the potatoes and the fresh clams. For my entrée I decided to go with the grilled tilapia with caper sauce with yellow rice. This tilapia was so fresh and buttery and flaky I couldn’t stop eating it! The server threw in a bottle of champagne since it was my friend’s b-day and even brought her a dessert with a candle on it at the end of our meal. Despite the auto 18% gratuity added on to every meal in Miami it was def. worth it! Overall great lunch specials reasonably priced for Lincoln Rd restaurants great ambiance

You’d think that in Florida the seafood options would be abundant and reasonably priced. Quite the opposite! Most seafood places lack inspiration, serving the ubiquitous shrimp pasta plate or fried tilapia. In that sense, Starfish is a standout. It’s dedicated to affordable seafood, there’s lobster, stone crabs, claws, oysters, mussels, and more. For 2 diners there’s a free bottle of wine. Lunch prices are $ 9.95. All that for Lincoln Road dining makes for a pleasant surprise.
