Take care of your stuff, the people in this hotel are thieves. They stole my mom’s iPad, ring and watch, and nobody take responsability of this.

My wife and I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend who lives around the corner. We are well seasoned travelers who most often stay in major brand hotels. We have a high customer service and facility expectation. Nevertheless, we are very okay with staying in the local sole proprietor establishment. In this case, we didn’t mind trading character for polished. To be fair, this place is old school. If you like throw backs this is your place. We stayed in one of the courtyard ground level suites. I would recommend this as I suspect the regular rooms are less nice. We had a semi-private veranda and 11⁄2 baths with a kitchen. It was very clean and about a third of the price of the Gale(where we have stayed previously) down the street. Since it is Miami Beach we did not expect to stay in the room much. Nevertheless, we bought bubbles for the fridge and had mimosas on the veranda each morning. Very pleasant.

This was the WORST hotel I have EVER stayed at. I travel quite a bit for work and I have stayed at my far share of roach motels and 4 star resorts. However; this one takes the cake. Bugs all over the bathroom My wife called for an emergency call at 6 in the morning and they said they couldn’t send her message to my room because it was too early — WTF was that? No water for showering bc of an alleged water main break DONOTGOTO this place unless it is a last resort

I lived here for a month when I first moved to Miami Beach, it was a good transitional spot, that had a great central location(walkable to most of South Beach/Lincoln Road/the beach/Publix/Walgreens etc etc) was priced decent for a long term stay in a full one bedroom apartment, which was a very simple renovated art deco style, and very large with a full kitchen. The other plus of this building is the beautiful courtyard garden, green and lush, with a hammock, and tables and chairs under a pavillion so you can sit outside in any weather. Dina the manager is also wonderful and friendly… when she gets to know you, initially she may come off a little gruff, but shes an incredibly sweet and hard working woman. Now to the bad… There were not many other people there during my time, and everyone kind of knows everyone/is in everyones business, housekeeping will randomly come clean your room(right down to organizing personal possesions) without notice, and come in «to put away the mail» etc… privacy is like living with your grandma. I also had a large walk in closet that had some black mold in it, was told it would be fixed within two days… never was. Still was very happy with my time there, it was absolutely well suited for what I used it for… a temporary residence while finding a permanent one, or for someone staying a month or so on business/fun who wants a «real» place to live. Also there is NOPARKING… I was always lucky with street parking, but if you are not crafty in the parking arts be prepared to pony up $ 20 or so a day for the garage a block away. (free wi-fi, 3% charge for using credit or debit)

If I could put less than one star I would! I arrived into Miami for business and called the hotel only to find that my reservation no longer existed because they had to be shut down by the Fire Marshall. When I asked if they planned on calling me to tell me, they said, «oh yeah, we were getting around to it». I arrived at 10pm when were they«planning» on calling. They then told me that they would refund my stay for one night at another hotel, they put no cost cap on it. And since I was in town during the swim show, the cheapest last minute hotel I could get was $ 400!!! Almost $ 300 more than I had anticipated spending. Once I returned they changed thier story and said they would only cover $ 150 of my first nights stay. Well it’s now been a month since I was in Miami and I still have not been credited the 1st night stay at the other hotel. Every time I call, their system is magically not working or the manager is not in! No one has bothered to call me back after numerous voice mail messages either! I think that the level of professionalism at this hotel is absurd and I’m not one bit surprised that they were«unexpectedly» shut down.
