Social hour is 5pm — 8pm. This is the best time to go to Michael Mina 74. The best priced drinks and delicious free appetizers. There was one bartender who had a little bit of an attitude. But the others are friendly and much more accommodating. Downstairs from the blue bar. Nice atmosphere. Cozy Good for a date.

The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is bcuz we had reservations for 10 and we didn’t get seated until 1040, and then had to spend the count down on NYE in the restaurant still eating… BUT besides that, the food was amazing!!! Worth every bit of $ 1300! It ended up being perfect despite the glitch at the beginning of our experience!

This restaurant was cute and quaint with a darker atmosphere which was nice for a romantic or casual dining. The service was prompt and polite. Our waitress also gave us suggestions for clubs to check out once we asked; and she was very accurate in her descriptions! We ordered a total of three dishes. The«to share» steak tips on skewers was absolutely delicious but was a very small portion so when they say it’s to share they mean as a one bite appetizer for a couple of people. We also got the fish and chips which was good, nothing special but again, it was good. The only thing we didn’t like was the Freebird chicken that we ordered: it came out pretty black and and extremely lacking in flavor… Highly recommend you do not get that dish! All in all a nice place to dine especially if you are staying at the Fontainbleu hotel.

We came here just for drinks in their«social hour». It was a great fun atmosphere with some really nice bartenders. Plus the drinks we got were great. I’m just surprised how friendly the staff was to my family and how helpful they were. This place also gives little tomato and popcorn appetizers that are great. The tomato had mozzarella cheese and basil on it and the popcorn had truffle oil and Parmesan cheese. I would recommend this place for a nice drink for social hour(6−8pm).

I would not recommend eating at this restaurant. First of all my appetizer came out 10 minutes after the rest of my party. Then it was frozen in the middle. They tried to make up for it by giving me a free appetizer and I might have overlooked the mistake but then the main course came. My son and I ordered the strip steak cooked medium. Both of ours came out cooked rare to medium rare. We sent it back, but again it came out undercooked. The food was fairly tasteless and the service was mediocre. For the money that we spent($ 400!!) I expect a lot more!

We came in for drinks before our outrageously expensive dinner at Hakkasan at the Fountainebleu hotel in Miami Beach. we sat at the bar and were so impressed with the bartending skills of Seth Weinberg. We are huge fans of anything Michael Mina. They seem to attract a great group of employees. My fiancé is a die hard: Ketel One up, shaken, no vermouth, blue cheese olives. Me: I love trying new drinks but a big rum fan. Nothing on the drinkmenu interested me(even though it was very creative) so Seth asked what I drank and my preferences. Then, he took the time to create a fantastic two rum drink that had fresh juices and was so well balanced. Practically inhaled it. We really want Michael Mina 74 to know what a great ambassador they have with Seth. He really made our experience at the bar great. With the exception of some toad at the bar that would have tested my patience, it was great! This guy was with two friends and I saw him shake his glass at the bartender for another drink. His elbows were on the bar top as he shoveled food in his mouth. You can’t buy good manners yet the bartenders had the great social graces to accommodate him. Anyway, ending on a positive note. The space is beautiful and the food that came out was mouthwatering ! Bravo

This place is very cozy, it’s amazing how you can be surround by lots of loud revelers but still feel like you’re all alone. Just you and your boo. That’s exactly how I felt. After the overwhelming presence of what is known as the Bleaubar. Fountainbleau hotels main lobby bar we took the steps to the downstairs restaurant. Mina 74 reminds me of a speakeasy in it’s rich décor. Dark woods, low lighting rich soft leather seating. You almost feel like you’ve been transported back in time. This review is for the bar, we did not eat in the main dinner, however we did have a few bites at the bar. I ordered a Whiskey sour one of my favorite drinks, I was disappointed. It was watered down and the egg white and cherry on top was no where to be found. I had the budget friendly whiskey sour the one made with sour mix. I wasn’t a fan at all, but my bartender was very nice and seeing that she had the entire bar packed and the only on working she did a great job maintaining her guest. I also ordered a rose I forget the name but it was delicious. for dinner I had a kale salad and duck fat fries. OHMYGOSH!!! I could kiss the chef, I didn’t order a main course but the portions of what I did order was pretty large. I was also very delicious, the salad was crisp and the dressing made it even better. Those fries are one for the history books, so flavorful and with the rosemary and parmesan it only enhances what was to me already perfection. Our food came out fairly quickly, from order to table was no more then 10 minutes. overall I enjoyed my night out, I will be back. The bartender can get a pass on the cocktail, next time I’ll try one of the house specials.

This was the final dinner for a great girls’ bachelorette weekend in Miami. We had a huge entourage of gals, and the staff kindly seated us in a semi-private room. The restaurant is low-lit and intimate, so there’s a somewhat romantic vibe. The vast majority of our group ordered off of the Miami Spice prix fixe menu. These were my choices: Appetizer Lamb Meatballs: I don’t often eat lamb… or meatballs… but this was pretty tasty. Truthfully, I ordered this, because the other two choices(the Summer Crab Roll and the Tabouli Salad) did not appeal to me. It was nice to have something meaty, since my entrée selection was a bit light on the protein. Entrée Bay Scallop Ditalini Pasta: I chose this because I wanted something carb-heavy to balance the alcohol I planned to consume later. :p It wasn’t something I’ll be dreaming about later, but it was perfectly fine. Dessert Churros with Dulce de Leche: I was tempted to get the Blueberry Clafoutis, but I am so glad I did not. The churros were the superior dessert, and everyone at our table who got the clafoutis seemed a bit disappointed. I had a bite of someone’s, and it was the only thing I tasted at 74 that I actually thought was not good. The texture seemed to be off. As for the churros, they were freshly prepared and arrived warm and crunchy. The caramel sauce was a little thick. We had a rather early dinner at 6:00 pm, so the restaurant was not crowded at all. Our server was extremely accommodating despite some shenanigans that were going on at the table. Although this was not the most amazing meal of my life, I would be more than willing to go back to try the full menu. The ambiance and service made for a great experience. Recommended.

IF I COULDGIVEMORESTARS I WOULD! My husband and I had been in Miami for about 4 days and ready to call it quits and not return to Miami whatsoever! Everything seemed over priced and no where near worth it! On our final day we had been to ocean drive where every five feet your asked by every single person to come eat it to the point of over kill! Leaving ocean drive annoyed and miserable we walked back into fountainbleu hungry and saw a stand and hostess I read the menu not realizing it was a Michael Mina restaurant! My husband and I had heard about his restaurants many times! We approached the hostess and asked to make reservations immediately after taking our room number she said«ohhhhhhh honeymooners say no more we will take care of you» and that they did! Everything was beyond amazing! Our waiter Bulent was superb! Very attentive to the point he was taking pictures without us even needing to ask! We were sat at a table decorated for us with a card«happy honeymoon»! Thanks to Bulent our entire view of our trip has been changed. He’s manners and personality really made it worth it. You can get great food many places it’s the service that matters we were treated with upmost respect by Bulent and amazing food start to finish! If I ever go back to Miami it’ll be to eat at Michael Mina’s restaurant!

Located below Liv club. Ok atmosphere. Kinda big and empty. Our main waitress was nice and friendly, but they kept on bringing the wrong dishes and drinks… way to leave six hungry people hanging! We got food off the Miami spice menu. The appetizers were Summer Crab Rolls and Lamb Meatballs. Both were amazing! And we got Black August skirt steak and Florida Snapper. Both were good but didn’t leave us craving for more. We also had the Ahi Tuna Carpaccio and Pacific Oysters. The oysters had nice presentation with dry ice sauce. The carpaccio had nice tomato flavor but wasn’t the best. We had churros for dessert. They were crunchy, and came with a tasty dolce de leche sauce to dip in. Not too impressed because you can get them anywhere. Would’ve been better if they came with ice cream. The other dessert on the menu wasn’t recommended by the waitress because it was premade. Overall it’s was a good experience, but the pace didn’t leave us desiring for more. Definitely recommend coming to try it once but maybe not the Miami spice menu since the dessert was not worth it. also, you can get your valet ticket validated, so it costs 15 dollars instead of 30. Groups of young girls started showing up toward end of the night around 9:30−10 pm, guess it’s a good spot for sightseeing before heading to Liv

This place would have gotten 3 stars for its service, but I gave it 4 because the food was so good. It is a romantic atmosphere with dim lighting. The server brought our menus, but we had to ask her for the Miami Spice menu. She left for a while so after we had our appetizers, we had to ask the busser for house bread. Miami spice portions were small, but very good. Summer crab rolls were good. Main entrée was worth the visit. I had the black Angus skirt steak, which was well seasoned and accompanied by sweet corn in a truffled huitlacoche and lime chimichurri that bursted with pleasurable flavor. They also had a notable wine list.

How I love Miami spice … Let me count the ways… And it’s not even because of the price but because I remember all the great food we have here in our home. This place doesn’t disappoint. Great normal portions, great rich taste. Great service and drinks. It’s a must to try!

Even though this restaurant at first seems a bit hidden in the Fountainebleau, it is quite he gem. Tucked away down a dramatic staircase in the hotel lobby, Michael Mina is a dark, sophisticated quiet spot. For the most part the tables are well spaced which is a nice perk and we were seated at a large half moon private booth when you first enter. Really neat to eat here as you can pretty much observe the entire restaurant and bar while eating. The staff was very attentive and there were several people waiting on us at all times. They served up a great cocktail — the second time around, make sure you are very specific when it comes to ordering. For food, the plates are smaller portions and we shared some tuna, a unique crab appetizer and also tried the lobster pot pie. All of the food was absolutely incredible, perfectly seasoned and the pot pie had a sauce I’ve never tasted before and was outstanding. We went with the beignets for dessert and they were really delicious — just as good as New Orleans! Perfect place for a cocktail or light fare before an evening out.

Was here on a Saturday night with 6 girlfriends. They let me order a bunch of plates to share and overall the food was plenty and excellent. Only one other girl and myself wanted bone marrow dish and good thing we only ordered one. It was enormous! I have never seen so many such large bones with so much marrow! Served with chimichurri and nicely toasted crostini, it was just delicious and great value. Both skirt steak and the short rib were great. Brussel sprouts were amazing. I am typically not a fan, but kept going back for more. I felt like they were deep fried actually, but hey, you only live once! The wedge salad had a nice acidic flavor in the dressing and paired well with other dishes. We also shared Sea bass, ahi and hamachi poppers and tuna tartar. All of it was tasty. I really can’t say that I didn’t like any one of the dishes. Duck fries, were very large and mostly uneaten. Honestly don’t remember the taste. Our waiter was great. Funny, quick and very accommodating. My only complaint is that I was not a big fan of décor. It felt like an old steak house and was slightly dingy in my opinion. Overall, great meal and drinks! I would certainly recommend.

The restaurant is tucked away in the basement of the Fountainebleu hotel with just a hostess station in the lobby to indicate its existence. The menu is a combination of upscale bar food and steakhouse. We ordered the Tokyo style spare ribs, crispy brussels sprouts and the Maine lobster pot pie. The spare ribs were tasty and sweet. We couldn’t taste the five spices over the sweetness. The pot pie was very creamy but the lobster itself was tough and chewy from over-cooking. The brussels sprouts were tooth-achingly sweet. The sprouts from the top of the pile with minimal contact with the sauce were actually pretty good. We actually ordered more brussels sprouts but asked for less sauce. The waitress seemed offended and said they were supposed to be like that. We were thinking, «What? It’s supposed to be too sweet?» Anyway we got sauce on the side. Ended up not even using it as the sprouts were properly seasoned already. The dishes we ordered could have been very good but for execution and conceptual problems. Unless they figure that out, we wouldn’t return.

Lovely dark basement restaurant in the Fontainebleau hotel… Horrible cell service but lovely ambiance for a nice intimate dinner. They make nice drinks and the bartenders are pleasant and chsrasmatic. The food has always been tasty although it is nothing spectacularly out of the ordinary. Good quality and well flavored and cooked meat, chicken, fish, vegetables, salads, French fries. Not dissapointing if you’re looking for a dim lit mellow place to enjoy a nice dinner before going to Liv upstairs

I’m a fan. Never really make it up to Fontainebleau because its just too touristy for me. However, I really was digging this place. The décor was very old school from like the 50’s. Had pictures of all the big hitters back in the day. It was one floor below the hotel which made it very dark and ominous. The music however was very loud and trance/house music was the choice. That was a bit off putting but it was Saturday night so I get it a bit, but it’s dinner and because the atmosphere is so old school, I figured the music would match. It’s like watching The rat pack and seeing Sammy pull out a cell phone. not cool. Anyways, the food was amazing, we got a little bit of everything and the service was great. Plan to go back in the future.

The rib-eye was A-MAZING… Good thing I had a $ 75 a day work stipen for food. Kind of blew it all right there on the steak. This place is what you would expect for a steak house, in a hotel, on the beach. I can’t really see going here unless you are the«make it rain» type, or you really want to get laid after your date and you’re just trying to impress. Oh yeah, the hostesses, good lord. They’re like little devils in miniskirts. Go ask them about a reservation, even if you have no intent in making one. :)

Sometimes you are surprised by the simplest of dishes… And so, there I was sharing a table with seven others, sampling through a deliciously prepared menu of chef’s favorites. I could describe each one in detail. How they tasted, the texture and complexity of each dish, how it elicited feelings long dormant, etcetera… etc…etc… but the truth of the matter is, I was really, really wowed by, The Hamburger. I know… call me crazy. The appetizers were all very good and had excellent flavors. The Tuna Tartare and Dry-Aged New York Strip Skewers were nice and flavorful; the Kale salad was fresh and light and the Ahi and Hamachi were airy and wonderful. Each was delightful on its own. While everyone at our table was talking and laughing, our servers brought out the selected entrees for the evening. Wagyu Beef Short Ribs, Potato Crusted Pompano, and what I would later come to think as the most amazing Hamburger I’ve tasted in a long time. The short ribs were fork tender and were complemented with a perfectly made couscous, the pompano in tamarind brown butter was excellent, but the most amazing thing that evening was yet to arrive. Let me just stop right here. You think you’ve had a good burger up till now. I can probably name a dozen places around town that serve amazing hamburgers; each one a work of art, in and of itself. I would like to add Michael Mina’s to the mix. I know, I know… call me blue collar. Here I am surrounded by fine cuisine and I’m focusing on a hamburger. Crazy, I know. Dry aged beef, ground and shaped into a patty, seasoned lightly with salt and pepper then grilled to perfection. The patty is nestled into a bed of romaine while cheddar cheese melts over two slices of double smoked bacon. Add a generous slather of the secret sauce and crown it with a beautiful buttery bun that shines in the candlelight… Served with amazing french fries that enhance the already exquisite flavor. This is the kind of burger you have wine with… I have to add something here about the dessert. If you can resist finger beignets served aside a Macallan 18 pudding with butterscotch and caramel, you’re a better person than I am. Probably a tad bit healthier too. It was delicious and highly encouraged! Located in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach this restaurant is part of the Mina Restaurant Group. You can find out more about Michael Mina, his passion for food(…and burgers) on his website: Now, If you’ll excuse me… I’m going back to find out what else he’s got cooking over there. *Before I forget, remember that tip and in cash, please!
