The bacon was very crispy and whenever that is the case, everything is right with the world. We were here twice for the breakfast buffet. The bonus of this buffet is that they can make pancakes, waffles fresh upon request. I loved that there was an omelet station too. This buffet had everything you could possibly eat for breakfast. The place had a good amount of energy and an upscale ambience. Only downside was that there were a gazillion people lined up for the omelets but only one overwhelmed omelet chef — there has to be a better way.

I was do excited to come here based on reviews. So disappointed because although the food was good(panzenella salad, halibut) I felt ripped off. Salad was great tasting but small for 12 dollars. Halibut was small portion in a bowel of soup 33 dollars.(great tasting) I ate healthy tonight and won’t worry about over eating! By the way, can’t beat the view! No I wouldn’t come here again. So many other places in the area that are better like Otentic and la locanda

It’s not an organic restaurant and not sure why it’s under the organic section. The food was not that impressive but the price was very… The atmosphere is nice, service is nice as well.

I started with the roasted carrot salad which was very good. My husband had their tomato soup… to die for. I cannot stop raving about my meal. The perfect chicken, moist inside, crispy on top and very flavorful. The quinoa was not mushy, it was cooked to perfection and tasted extraordinary. I can’t wait to go back.

Was not expecting a lot from a hotel restaurant, and expected even less based on the amateur service(3 or 4 different servers came to our table, gave us an eye roll when we asked for tap water, did not seem like they understood what high level service even looked like), the food was amazing. I’m vegetarian(rest of the party is not) and had the warm carrot salad and a special veggie plate they put together with quinoa, Brussel sprouts, mushrooms, etc. Really great flavors, lovely presentation. If only they can get their service up to snuff, this place would be a knock out. Food is 4 stars Service is 2 stars

Right then. Imagine an expensive luxury restaurant with great food. Then cut the price in half. There u have it. Great food at bargain prices. Downside is that the service and setting is a bit unpersonal. So, come here for the food, not for the romantic evening!

Delicious brunch, the food is flavorful, the venue is open, clean & airy. Good: –Breakfast Buffet-request your custom omelette, –Tasty cuts of bacon(not fatty) –Fresh fruit salads –Great atmosphere –Worth the short walk from Fountainbleu or if you’re staying upstairs in the Eden Rock Bad: –Non-applicable

The swordfish was probably the best I’ve eaten anywhere… cocktails were pretty good too… Service was OK, nothing to rave about, but fine… would definitely recommend a visit for the food and highly recommend the Swordfish :-)

Went here for Christmas Eve dinner and ended up leaving quite grumpy. Received very poor service with the whole restaurant not even close to full compacity. We waited over an hour just for the main course. Reservations were at 8, ended up leaving at 10 — therefore making us late to Christmas mass. Here’s some of the events that went down: 1) Waiter even came with the soup without a spoon, had to wait 5 minutes and flagging down the waiter to get one. What are we do sniff up the liquid in hunger? 2) Ordered shrimp entrée and raw oysters appetizers. The shrimp came first and then the oysters. That was not how the order should have gone, oysters first then shrimp. No one else got their dishes so I ate by myself. 3) Due to getting all my dishes first, I had to sit there awkwardly when everybody else ate. Making my dining experience very awkward in general. 4) After an hour after ordering, we started asking for the entrees didn’t get them until 20 minutes later. Waiter didn’t seem to care. Not worth the money. Please make other plans!

The service was phenomenon and the food was amazing. We had the breakfast buffet and everything was fresh and delicious. They had fresh exotic fruits such as dragonfruits and passionfruits. My favorite was probably the chicken and waffles. I wish they had a bit more on the buffet though.

As a New Yorker, and a big time foodie… I must start off by saying that our trip to Miami was a disappointing one. I was so underwhelmed by this city! On a higher note, our dinner at 1500 degrees was one of the highlights of our trip. The experience here from the food, service, ambiance was terrific. Definitely the best meal we had all trip. We started off with the grilled octopus, brussel sprouts, and truffle fries, I loved the octopus and brussel sprouts, and my fiancé loved all three. The truffle fries were a bit heavy for me… but if I enjoyed heavier food I would have absolutely loved them as well. For our main meals we had the pork chops and the sea bass, both were absolutely amazing! The servings were very big, the pork chop dish came with 2 chops! The sea bass was a whole fish. Seasoning was SPOTON. Although we were so full, the desserts looked great so we had to try. As per our waiters recommendation we went with the funnel cake with peach gelato, the gelato was so delicious! All in all, a great experience… I’ll probably never visit Miami again but I will absolutely recommend 1500 Degrees to anyone who does!

Holy crap this place is amazing. I had such a great experience here, between the food and the great service, 1500 degrees is top notch. I was visiting from Philly for my birthday last week, what a nice treat! Our server Jacob was a rockstar, granted the place was empty at 9pm on a Thursday night, but he was very attentive and on top of his game. I am a picky wine drinker, and he brought over several different bottles for us to taste at the table before we bought a bottle! Wow! I’ve never been to a restaurant where we literally had a wine tasting at the table. Blown away by that service. The food far exceeded my expectations. I’m a big foodie from Philly, and the chef here is as good as it gets. We had: — Ahi Tuna Poke — amazing ahi style, but too spicy for me, I couldn’t eat it. But my friends loved it and ate every last bite. — Beet Salad w/goat cheese — I was drooling over this, one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten, I wanted to lick the plate — Grilled Octopus — to my surprise, this was one long piece of tentacle, or whatever its called. Usually octopus is cut up in smaller pieces, but this was prepared wonderfully with a creamy ricotta cheese and a tasty sauce on it. Very very good, I ate every bite. — Halibut — TODIEFOR. Do not miss this dish, I am amazed how great this was. Even the green sauce that tasted like potatoes, and the chunk veggies were salivating. I could live on this dish alone! — Duck Fat Fries! WOW for someone who doesn’t like french fries, I almost died when these hit my taste buds. Holy crap someone should be arrested for how great these taste. — My friend had a steak,(i don’t eat that), but it was served very well, on a hot skillet with a quail egg on top. He said it tasted yummy. Overall, this restaurant is top notch IMO. I’m always skeptical when dining at hotel restaurants, but this one is definitely one of a kind. Thanks for a great birthday dinner!

3 ½ I don’t think I have ever been to a restaurant that was as hot and cold as this one. There were so many amazing things going on and so many others going just so wrong at the same time. I was very confused all night. Here’s what happened… We won an auction during SBWFF for a 5 course dinner with wine pairing. We made our reservation and specified it. The restaurant is inside my favorite hotel, the Eden Roc. It is located on the left hand side, towards the back, in the lobby. Arrived and got seated right away. Our waiter nonchalantly strolled by our table and asked for our water preference with barely a hello or a welcome. Minutes later they brought out 4 glasses of «welcome» moscato and a bread basket. Minutes after that they brought out the first course. Where were we? two bites into the bread and three sips of moscato? Once we hurried the bread, the moscato and almost finished that first course(or so we thought) they brought out the pairing that was supposed to go with it. We no longer had much of the first course to «pair it» with left which I mentioned to the waiter. As I was mentioning it they brought out the second half of the first course. Confused yet? We had no idea it had two parts. The problem was, we had no time to enjoy any of it because it was all so rushed. Once the waiter came by, I asked him to please slow down the pace so that we had time to enjoy each course without chugging our wine and shoveling the food(which is what it felt like!). All I received was a blank stare and a stone cold«OK». I’m sorry that I am asking for some common sense! Wow. It did slow down after that initial rush to eat and drink. Then, at some point, our waiter mentioned how he’s the one picking our wine pairings. He mentioned it after I noticed he opened a «pinot grigio» but did not serve it. He’s picking our wine? Not the sommelier? Is there even a sommelier? And really? pinot grigio?(At least it wasn’t a Ramona Pinot Grigio! but I digress…). As it was, I only really enjoyed the moscato and the rioja he chose at the end but not enough to take their names down. I was very disappointed with the overall selection– sommelier or not. It is a shame and here’s why. The restaurant is beautiful. It is elegant and inviting. Almost everything we had was not just good. It was EXCEPTIONAL. It is the kind of food that I go home and think about. The kind of food that I tell everyone about. Here is this wonderfully thought out menu tarnished by at best, elementary service and a second thought wine selection. I can’t say how much it disappointed me and how it ruined out night. Here is the only good part of our night… the food: FIRSTCOURSE: Shrimp cocktail, Florida hog snapper ceviche and kumomoto oysters. It was all perfectly seasoned, cold, fresh and the perfect opener. White water clams in a blue moon and orange broth, crème fraiche, parsley, grilled buttered bread topped with an aioli. This was to die for. That bread was just out of the grill and right to our table. The broth was worthy of slurping and dipping several bread loaves into it(but I didn’t). IT.WAS.ORGASMIC. SECONDCOURSE: grilled octopus, zucchini purée, frisse, roasted tomatoes, sheep’s milk feta, kalamata olives. It all blended together perfectly. I usually don’t like octopus in it’s full tentacle form but this was a rare exception. Finished every single morsel. Palmetto Creek Farms pork belly tacos with homemade kimchee. This is it. This it it. This it it. This is what I am still dreaming about. Add everything that is wrong with the American diet and it was in it but damn it– this was spectacular. My hands were getting dirty as there is no poise in eating a taco and I did not care. I wanted more! I still want more. THIRDCOURSE: Lamb belly. This one was OK but not as stellar as the first and second course. It did have several ravioli with it that were delicious. FOURTHCOURSE: Roasted wild striped bass boniato purée, pickled eggplant confit, swank farms vegetables in a coconut curry sauce. Not as full of the same explosive flavors we started with but still delicious. It was also not hot. FIFTHCOURSE: Beef tenderloin with a quail egg. Served barely lukewarm but it was delicious. As you can see, I have detailed descriptions for some but not all. That would be because we were also not given a tasting menu to go with our meal. I did request one but, yeah, I am still waiting for it. The descriptions I do have I found on their site. The rest is from what I remember or from the photos I took. Once again, no attention to detail from the service end. It was night full of highs and lows for me. I really want to go back for the food but I am really turned off by everything else we experienced. I say this often and it applies to 1500 as well. With the dining scene just growing by leaps and bounds in South Florida, why go back? The pork belly tacos are alluring but overshadowed by everything else. Time will tell I guess.

We were staying at the Eden Roc and didn’t feel like fighting for cabs so we stayed in and checked out 1500 in our hotel. Interior of the restaurant was very nice. It looked modern and inviting. We had no wait at all to get a seat. My only minor complaint is that they have a row of two tops against one of their windows where all the tables are very close. It felt like you were sitting with the couple next to you. I like a little more private and intimate setting. The Food and Chef here is getting fantastic reviews. I found it to be good, but not amazing especially for the price. My wife had the 8oz Beef Tenderloin($ 48 just for the steak!) while I had the whole fried florida snapper. The steak was soft and seasoned well. We both enjoyed it, but agreed you could get a much more reasonably priced steak at many other locations(just not in South Beach) that taste as good or better. My snapper was also very tasty if not a bit salty, with a crisp outside covered in sautéed peppers and cherry tomatoes. My wife tried the duck fat steak fries with truffle butter as a side, which not surprisingly were tasty but were also not surprisingly VERY rich. I felt like it was going to take an hour on the treadmill per fry. I could only eat about 3 of them. Service was obnoxiously slow. I don’t want to be «turned and burned» like a Chilis or Fridays, but I also don’t need a 3 hour dining experience on a Thursday night. My wife and I joked that the first thing we should have ordered was the check because it took forever. Bottom line is this was a nice one time visit but no where worth the value to price for us. I enjoyed it but am unlikely to return.

1500 Degrees OFCULINARYHOTNESS! The temperature rises when you pair a beautiful historical resort like the Eden Roc with Celebrity chef Paula DaSilva. With an amazing«farm to the table» concept, 1500 Degrees will tease and satisfy your taste buds. You can try one of the tasting menus or order ala carte. Incredible cuts of meat and great local seafood options, this will be a meal to remember.

OK read my previous review and it clearly states I will never go to this place again. Unfortunately with 3 out of town business clients staying at the Eden Roc and I being a guest and not picking up this tab, when they selected 1500 degrees at the hotel for dinner I simply had to grin and bear it so speak. Although this particular meal was better than my first visit and one particular dish was outstanding, it still in my opinion fails miserably. The once appetizer Shishito peppers are now complementary along with the very good fresh bread to start your meal. Once again bottle water is provided and this time I checked the bill and it is indeed complimentary as well. The peppers were once again outstanding. Appetizers the ordered shrimp cocktail by the piece, some grilled octopus and a special house salad with burrata cheese and crumbled blue cheese over tomatoes. The Tomatoes salad was actually pretty good, but the shrimp cocktail were gummy and a little fishy and once again their lack of any credible cocktail sauce destroyed this. Others in the party enjoyed the octopus that I did not partake in. Entrees were a half baked rotisserie chicken that was very fresh and quite juicy. The Wagu Rib Eye was once again a thin dried out piece of beef that simply did not get it done. The other disaster 8 oz Charbroiled Skirt Steak was salty and completely dried out. The winner on the table was two pieces of 10oz of prime top sirloin picanha cut of beef. covered in Black Truffle Garlic butter. This was not even close to 10OZ but it was absolutely mouth watering outstanding. Sides were the famous Brussels sprouts and Olive oil whipped potatoes. Manager came by and asked how the meal was and we told him about the Rib Eye and Skirt Steak. He did not take it off the menu but he brought us after dinner drinks and deserts on the house. Once again a couple of standout items and some things that simply can’t happen for the price points they are throwing down here. Saturday night in the middle of August and they were extremely crowded almost every table taken and many outside as well. I didn’t pay so I’m not going to complain, but I simply can’t go over 2 stars here regardless of how good that Picanha was.
