pizza is so good . Also Amazing meatballs, side of artichokes . Wood and gas brick oven, only two pizzas made at a time since they have to keep moving them around.

Best pizza in Miami beach, hands down. Kale Caesar salad was amaze-balls! There really isn’t any reason to go to another pizzeria in the area… I would walk bare foot on broken glass for another delicious pie from Lucali!

I first heard about Lucali from New York City. Amazing pizza! Unfortunately, during my time there, I never had a chance to venture out to Brooklyn to try. Lucky for us, my friend and I were in town for a few days in Miami. Unfortunately, similar to its New York City location, the wait was LONG, LONG, LONG. We were quoted an hour wait(on a Sunday evening). The hostess took our phone number, and let us know what she would text us as soon as a table became available. With growling stomachs, we headed next door for some appetizers and returned back to Lucali. As we sat down, we observed our neighboring parties and their food orders. Realizing that the pizza was too large for us to finish(due to its large size), we decided to go straight for dessert — NUTELLAPIE! Each of us was only able to finish 2 slices and took the rest of the 4 slices back to our hotel. The nutella pie is pizza dough with nutella, powdered sugar, ricotta cheese, and mint. YUM! Tip: — Would suggest a party of 4 to go together to try judging from the size of their whole pies as well as the nutella pie. That way, there aren’t a lot of leftovers. ENJOY!

The hostesses were not as friendly as you’d expect them to be. Without hesitation they blurt out«forty minutes!» demanding you to wait in the bar next door where you’re not allowed to order snacks while you wait since they don’t seat you at the restaurant if you have anything to eat in front of you in the bar. The pizza was delicious and the meatballs as appetisers were just heaven in your mouth…

My friend and I both lived in NYC for close to 10 years but neither of us had ever been to Lucali out of fear of the ridiculously long waits. We were hoping the Miami Beach location would be less of a hassle. Wrong. We were quoted an hour on a Sunday evening at about 7pm. The hostess took our name and number and advised that she would contact us via text /phone call once a table became available. For the few minutes we spent outside the establishment, several diners who had finished with their meals, as well as a random passerby, commented that this was the best pizza in Miami. Great, we could wait out an hour of hunger for the best pizza in town. We went next door to a Mexican joint(Tequiztlan), envisioning a pre-game of some light apps and a couple of drinks to quell our growling bellies before heading to Lucali for the main event. An hour of eating and drinking later, we were stuffed. No text or phone call from Lucali so we decide to walk over to see what the deal was. The hostess informs us that a table was just leaving so we were next on the list. Woohoo, we were finally in! The interior is dimly lit and cozy, with a slight old school family vibe about it. Full from our pre-gaming next door, we went straight for the famed dessert pizza, the Nutella pie — the traditional pizza crust dusted with a generous amount of powdered sugar, topped with a thick coating of Nutella, heaps of ricotta and sprigs of mint. Yum! It was inventive, unique and a clever take on dessert at a pizza place when it was first introduced to the Lucali menu years ago, but at this point the dish feels a tad overhyped in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong — Nutella on anything is delicious and this was no exception. The dessert pizza is the same size as a regular pie, which is large. It’s a rich dessert, but the Nutella counters the salty pizza crust nicely. Still, 2 slices per person is plenty before you’ll prob start to feel sick.

Way over rated. Pizza is average at best. Service was awful. All the servers hang out talking to each other and pay no attention to the customers. They didn’t even bring out the appetizers and were asking if we wanted the pizza already. we purchased 2 bottles of wine and I wanted to taste another that they serve by the glass and the server complained! Imagine. Much better places in Miami to have pizza than this place.

Living in Brooklyn and having had Lucali pizza before as well as Tottono, Patsy’s and every other highly rated pizza spot I am an expert on Pizza and have loved it my entire life. The Brooklyn Lucali spot was amazing best pizza in NYC so when I came to Fla. For a visit with my dad who’s retired and in Deerfield beach, I knew I had to drive down to Miami Beach to see, taste and compare Lucali here and back home. I was not disappointed. The pizza was perfection with signature sauce, thin crust that as good as Brooklyn that crunches the way it should, and the fresh basil on top was pretty and delicious steaming hot with a ice cold Peroni. The calzone simply the best I’ve ever had in Brooklyn spot was exactly the same and a must if u go. Then the meatballs and kale salad were amazing and a different wrinkle u can only get in the Miami Beach spot. I do recommend all of the above on this menu. The candle lit lighting, the brick oven, u can see the masters at their craft while u sit and watch it’s just a fun, relaxing and special place to enjoy the things we all love to eat. A treat for anyone who didn’t grow up in Brooklyn… Or just anyone.

My son and I go to eat every weekend at Lucali for some months … Last Sunday we had an incident with the waiter that he was extremely rude and aggressive in his behavior with us because he served only my foods and I ask for the foods of my son. Then I decided looking for someone else could help us the rest of the lunch, because our table was left without service and I needed to focus to find someone who could assist us, which was quite stressful, because the rest of the personal was busy with their tables. My son told me that if I wanted we would not have to eat again in Lucali as I faced that disrespectful treatment. I contacted the manager, but he didn’t do nothing about this situation.

If Unilocal would have an option to buy more stars, I’d buy them just to give them to Lucali. The pizza is amazing! The meatballs are amazing! The salads, the service, the vibe. The whole thing is just absolutely perfect. Having spent years in Italy, I usually don’t even try any Italian eateries outside. So a friend had to drag me into this place and let me tell you, the pizza here is probably the best I’ve ever had.

Some of my favorite pizza that I have had ANYWHERE in the US. The menu is simple but the pies are delicious, very thin crust with the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. Crust is crispy and coal fired. The kale salad and escarole salad are great as well as the meatballs. Finish everything off with a Nutella calzone! Exceptional place and service. The GM Thomas is a great guy. Highly recommended.

I had to come back to Lucali. We waited next door At the Bay Club and it was very cozy cute place and tried Lamborghini Italian wine. We did not mind the wait because the food was amazingly delicious and the service was great. I enjoyed the Nutella pizza the first time and this time I ordered the Nutella calzone and it was good but does not compare to the Nutella pizza. Will definitely be back for more!

not the first time in Miami, but i wish we knew about this place earlier. The stuff and waitresses are so friendly, so you feel yourself like home. space not big, but from each point you can see the round brick oven where pizzaman preparing your future delicious yummi pizza with thinnest crust and fresh cheese and amazing tomato souce. Artichokes as an appetizer works so good we ordered another portion. I really would love to try Nutella pizza but we were so full after our Margherita and anouther Mushrooms with onions Pizza so in the end we ordered canoli(oh my, double portions) so everything was just amazing when we will be again in Miami –definitely come back here

A favorite of mine in BK now in the MIA. More central and without the crazy waiting. Seriously, to randomly find this place on a walk in Miami was shocking. The restaurant looks almost identical to the one in Brooklyn — just a bit larger(and louder). The Sweet — bigger menu than in NY(think salads and desserts) — exact same setup — free garlic and basil on pizza — Kale salad. Initially seemed like a eh typical salad but with some time you realize it’s not the case. The mix of wilted and dry kale perfectly dressed with tang, salt, and pepper. Parmesan cheese is freshly grated. — Pizza — can’t go wrong here. Pepperoni is solid. — Calzone — another specialty. Get any toppings inside. Comes with a bowl of hot fresh sauce topped with cheese. The texture is not to heavy or thick and it stays crispy. The sour: — Gets loud at night where you can’t make conversation(then again who wants to when you’re there to eat) but our baby slept through the commotion so we were safe.

Came in on thrusday night for the first time around 8pm. We walked all the way in and no one acknowledge us. By the time we got to the pizza ovens we waited for a gentleman to get off the phone. everyone else in the restaurant ignored us. The place was not even to full capacity and the gentleman behind a cash register at the end of the restaurant said that there was a 60 minutes wait for pizza. He proceeded to say sorry. Thanks for the apology but it was a a bizarre experience. Needless to say we left without ordering not because of the wait but due to the lack of customer service.

Never mind the bollocks, here’s the very best pizza in Miami. Like minor league baseball hacks who never made the big show, those who doubt Lucali may be incapable of appreciating the heights of pizza perfection that this Brooklyn gem offers Miami Beach. That’s right – they just don’t know any better. And that’s totally ok with me. We’re always happy with a perfectly seasoned, kale caesar, great meatballs in San Marzano tomato sauce, and thin crusted, perfectly blistered pies with a few minimal but fresh ingredients – perhaps a roasted artichoke, charred beef pepperoni, and a few leaves of fresh basil. A small, thoughtful selection of Italian wines by the glass does the trick, too – try that smooth Montepulciano for a ten spot. God Save the Henry Street. And here’s hoping Lucali never leaves Miami Beach.

Guys, stop the presses. I have changed my mind about something. And it’s pizza. Lucali is the best pizza experience in Miami. It just is. It’s worth the hell that is south beach during its war-zone-like, never-ending construction-era. Pro tip: there’s a City parking garage just a block south of Lucali on the same street. It’s by far your best option for parking. The pizza is on point, every time. The ingredients are fresh, the crust is thin, and the cheese is decadent. It’s just amazing from every perspective. If you order your pizza without the free garlic and basil, we can’t be friends. Bottom Line: This pizza is everything.

REFRESHINGLYFEWDECISIONSTOMAKE… and is «candlelight» a secret ingredient? The thing that strikes you immediately as you peruse the menu is that they give you so few decisions to make — and believe me — it is for your own good! What they create here is SOPERFECT, why f#@* it up with too many choices? Choose your toppings: portobello mushrooms, pepperoni, fresh artichoke, onions, fresh basil, garlic… the ensuing pie is paper thin at the center with just enough sauce to make it wet, and with bubbling, gooey, fresh mozzarella and a dusting of pecorino. Feel that you’ve made a contribution by adding coarse red chili peppers or dried oregano from the shaker… and you can see from the photos here — it is a beautiful sight. The dining room, meanwhile, is like stepping into one of those rustic and charming spots on a small hillside Italian village… lights are dim because the chefs assemble their masterpieces by candlelight askew from the brick oven. I swear candlelight is a secret ingredient. Nosh on the FINEST pizza I have ever consumed while enjoying the beautiful, happy people that surround you, and enjoy a truly worthwhile splurge of cheesy consumption. I LOVE that Vero flat or sparkling water are free of charge here. We should all hydrate whatever our bubble preference, and I love this perk!
