Sketch bar with a human trafficking vibe. Dark and it draws a 20 something hoodlum element still working on controlling their alcohol, to which the owner Omar seems to allow to progress too far too often for that extra sale. On the night I visited(June 8, 2016), an nice older guy was attacked at the urinal by a drunk kid who was looking for his credit card. The bar had cut the kid off and he took it out on the guy apparently. So if assault is you idea of a party, this is your bar! Travel in a pack if you go here at the very least. On the other hand, if you want a deal on a stolen kidney, this might be a place to inquire. lol. Oh yeah, the drinks were spendy too.

Decent dive bar in mid-beach. The prices are decent considering the location, the bartenders are nice. They are all from Turkey.

$ 13 for a weak Jameson and Coke. Not worth it for a what they call a «dive bar». I’ve never been to a dive bar where they measure their alcohol. No strong pour here fyi

Dive bar with expensive drinks. A liquor store is steps away and it is had to justify paying 8 bucks for a Guinness here. The décor is minimal. The happy hour is decent until 7PM but after that the prices are much too high for the area. Fireball shots for 5 bucks if your into it but the shots are not full sized shots but actually smaller glasses. It’s close to some hotels and there’s not much else in the area. Staff was fine and attentive. Smoking permitted.

Eh. Nothing earth shattering about this place. It is a little bar on the main drag adjacent to many of the hotels. I stopped in during happy hour on my preliminary walk around the area and had a reasonably priced beer. Went back later to watch the football game and paid about twice as much for the same beer. The drinks are pricey but I assume that is a reflection of the area. Good place to sit and chat with the bar tender or people at the bar. It looks like it has the potential to be more happening later in the evening but I am an early bird and was out of there by 9:00 so can’t say.

I am a sucker for a good dive bar. I was looking for something casual and fun when we walked into the Cucu nest. The bartenders were super sweet and their drinks were tasty! I didn’t think the drinks were watered down and the prices were pretty standard for the location. Everything is a little more expensive in the area. I had the whisper cocktail which is a cocktail made by Natalie. I couldn’t even tell you what was in it but it was minty and refreshing. If you are looking for a nice place to hang out and visit with some strangers this is the place.

To be fair, we might have arrived at a bad time. Somebody was mopping the floor and their seemed to be some renovation/fixing going on. It was early though, around 6pm. The drink prices were decent, $ 7 for well drinks and $ 4 bud lights. Good service and decent people. However, I wouldn’t recommend this place for happy hour. It looks like a fun place for late night atmosphere.

came to this bar a while ago to «burn» time while i waited for the 4am bus towards aventura mall. no, i wasnt going shopping, i was going to FLL. first thing i noticed about cucus was that everyone knew each other. i got there past 2am and perhaps this is why people were more friendly than what im used to. i immediately get suspicious whenever someone is nice to me. its fucked up. i know. try growing up in hialeah. the bartender was this really sweet lady. i cant tell where she was from but she kept the clientele happy and all by herself. i had a couple of beers and took off. cucus is a dive bar. if youre complicated, you wont like it here. if you want a cocktails that has 30 ingredients, most of which you cant even pronounce. for this, just go to the broken shaker. its near by. if you just want a bar and shoot some pool and not pose, this is your place.

The bartender(Natalie) was very pleasant. I love the laid back vibe to the place. Very refreshing with everything else going on in SoBe.

The Cucu’s Nest Bar is one of the last remaining dive bars in the Miami Beach area that truly cater to the local crowd and not just the snowbird«touristas» from the North and beyond. At Cucu’s Nest, what you see is what you get. No fancy foo-foo umbrella drinks or craft cocktails with fresh herb garnish here. You might even get a cut lip from a bottle of Bud with a chip in it or a cracked cocktail glass which has happened to me two times here. Don’t even think of crying about it or you might get roughed up by one of barflys who looked like they baked out in the sun too long. The bartenders are big, buff and beautiful women, always friendly and looking to joke around and have fun. The bar itself is spacious with an ample dance floor and adequate touch screen jukebox(Top 40, country, latin, disco, rock selection). My favorite things about this bar include the drunken karaōke on Saturday nights(after 9 p.m.), the reasonable drink prices and the«come-as-you-are» vibe. Smelling funky and covered in sand from the beach? No problem! Loud, rowdy and causing trouble at 2 a.m. Come on in. If you come looking for food, you’ll have to go elsewhere. Booze only. They serve killer empanadas(beef, chicken) at the Tropical Latin Café in Triton Tower just next door. Very yummy!

Yes, I stayed at the Freehand nearby. I went hoping for a greasy bar burger, Nope! Just very loud music, a bartender hanging out singing with her two friends and 4 regulars playing pool, no others. A coors light was 5 $, ridiculous!!! And, I left her a 0 $.75 tip. Why? It sucked. I drank fast and had a quick smoke. Don’t bother!

Nice hole in the wall bar, but the drinks are a bit pricey. I paid $ 6 for a Yuengling bottle, but you get a good friendly bartender and a really comfortable vibe for your money too. You can chill on sofas or sit at the large bar to watch sports on their TV’s. Otherwise you can play pool or pick songs from the jukebox and dance on the modest sized dance floor. Finally, I just moved here from the northeast and it’s nice to find a bar you can smoke in(cigars welcome).

If there was such a thing as a family bar in South Beach, this is it. From the owner/bartenders to the regulars, this place just feels like a living room or party room in the back of a neighborhood house. It is also the place where a womanlike me will go when they don’t want to see anyone they know, listen to 80’s jams from a jukebox, and slam back their drinks like a grown man. Chah!

I had an awesome, crazy night at this little hole in the wall bar. While staying at the Palms Hotel my friend and I wandered up the road after a few hours of lying on the beach to find a bar within walking distance of our hotel, and we came across this place. Upon first glance it’s your typical dive bar with sparse décor and one employee running the whole joint. My best friend and I were the only patrons in the place(mind you it was about 3 p.m. in the afternoon), and the bartender was extremely social and made us a bunch of specialty shots/drinks, loading us up with high proofs, and even shared his lunch with us, lol! We ended up inviting a few other friends to join us as the night progressed, staying at this place until about midnight. It was pretty neat to have a whole bar comprised of just me and my friends. We even got the jukebox cranking toward the end of the night. Another perk of this place is that it is super casual– my friend and I were in our bathing suits during the afternoon and then just threw on sundresses at night.

This really should be 4 stars if the drinks were just a tad cheaper. For a dive bar, you really shouldn’t be paying $ 7 for a Jameson and Soda. That said, I love the Cucu’s Nest, and not only because I don’t really have to walk outside to go there. The bartenders/owners are a Turkish family that are super cool and friendly. The mix of people is great, any one can be in there at any moment. They have nice seating, a good juke box and a pool table. Also, they pretty much leave the Xmas tree up year end. Great spot for a night cap.

Looking for a neighborhood bar to have a drink? Cucu’s Nest can help you out! This cozy dive bar has a juke box, pool table, atm, and friendly bar staff. The owner is very nice and welcoming. The vibe is laid back. Sometimes karaōke or other shows can be found here. Open late every night!
