This place is awesome for herbs and vegetables! Its significantly cheaper than Publix which is usually where I do my shopping, so glad i found this place!

In search of some quick Latin bodega sustenance late at night, the hot meal take out counter was full with a long line. I wondered through the cramped aisles of toiletries, fresh produce and grocery items that seemed rather reasonable. I stopped by later when the crowds had subsided. The hot meals were gone, but the pastry counter shined with homemade flan and a fresh looking papa relleno. Speak Spanish if you can, these local bodegas are an amazing fresh and tasty bargain meal in wallet gouging south beach. No flash but with down home Latin momma charm. At my hotel, i quivered through my luscious slice of flan, about $ 3, eggy, almost with a consistency of ricotta — it was pure heaven. The papa relleno was crispy, fresh potato in a ball and stuffed with lightly seasoned ground beef with a hint of pepper, $ 1. Meals with protein and starch like chicken or fish with rice or yucca start at $ 5. Get it to go and head to the beach. It’s a no brainer.

If you want overpriced groceries and bad attitudes then shop at the Art Deco Market. The owner of the place is extremely rude and it translates to the employees, shop at Publix prices are lower and the quality, service and selection much better or Whole Foods prices are just as high but you get the quality and nice service.

This place was decent for groceries, but what I really wanted was the Cuban bread they had there. Cuban bread is light, fluffy goodness that tastes like biting into a cloud. Love it warm!

I am on South Beach so I was expecting high prices. The employees were very nice but if you want to meet one of the grumpiest most unfriendly store managers ever… meet the one that was doing day shift t on January 28, 2013. He was genuinely NOTNICE and he made the shopping experience unpleasant. The man at the deli was great and so was the lady at the take out. The ladies at the cash register were fine but he was terrible and there is no need to go on but if you don’t like working with people… he should quit. i was ready to walk out at one point when I asked a question, but I needed food and this is the ONLY store around. I would have bought more if he was approachable. I could tell by the employees faces when I repeated what he said that they appeared to be flustered. Very sad when so many people need a job and he is working.

All in all this market has everything you could ask for but 100 times cheaper than most stores. Pretty good food, especially for the price which came out to $ 14 for two combos for me and my girlfriend. Looks a bit scummy inside but its cool, they’re keepin’ it real.

south beach prices on everything(more expensive than grocery shopping at home) but we stopped in here a few times on our vacation to load up on essentials. Its the cleanest and biggest grocery store we found around our hotel. They even have a nice selection of fruits and veggies. They also have some really affordable deli sandwich and food selections.

Nice little shop right near where we are staying. I agree with the other reviews that this is definitely the biggest and nicest of these small markets. Sure, its more expensive than your average big box grocer, but for a local market in South Beach the deals were good. Nice selection of breads and unique deserts. Some ok fruits and cheeses as well. Definitely the place to shop while in South Beach.

I love this market I used to go in every morning for cuban coffee, and toasted cuban bread. They have a large selection of prepared cuban foods, and pasteries. If you cannot make it to publix, and are in this area this is a great super market. They have very fresh produce, prices are a bit higher then publix I guess you pay for the convience of being right in the heart of South Beach. They pretty much have everything you need a great chip, cheese, candy, produce, and meat selection.

I love this place!!! They have a buffet counter type of thing for to go food, and it’s great. They have mostly Latin food there but sometimes cary the portions are generous the price is great(6 $) and the ladies there are super friendly… As for the market it also very nice nice selection of all types if food wine and beer…4 stars only because there buffet thingy should be open later and it’s so hard to park it being on Washington ave.

Of all the bodegas and mini-groceries that line Washington Ave in South Beach, this is unquestionably the best. For one thing, it’s the biggest– maybe twice the width of most of the others, with a corresponding increase in selection. For another, it’s got the biggest produce section with the best selection.(That’s one of the most important features in a mini-mart since produce is one of the things that you’re least able to stock up on once every week or two at Publix.) It’s also bright, clean, and generally not disgusting– three features that many of the others cannot boast.

Stayed at a hotel up the street from this market when I was in South Beach on vacation a couple weeks ago. It was perfect for getting items that I could make a quick lunch with and eat out on the front porch of my hotel. I especially loved their Lobster Bisque and the sushi trays that they had available. Yum! They had a little bit of everything, and this definitely helped make my vacation that much more relaxing. I didn’t have to go far for snacks, pop, beer, quick lunch/dinner foods, or even forgotten toiletries. The only reason this place gets 4 stars and not 5 is because the people who worked their seemed to expect me to speak in Spanish at times. i understand South Florida has many Spanish speaking residents, but it is still in the USA. I’m still going to speak my language where I pay with US currency! Also,. they couldn’t have been more obvious that they really didn’t want to be working at that moment. All I could think was«Hey, at least you’ve got a job, unlike so many people in this country right now!» Just sayin’…
