I am so glad I found this spot. I was heading into the CVS store and I spotted the sign on the door. I had been looking for a guitar for my new nephew, and this place was open at 8AM? Had to check it out. It is a wonderful place, stocked to the roof with all kinds of goodies. From the new,(a fabulous tricycle that grows with the child) to the old school German built metal toys I remember as a kid. Can’t say enough about it. I am recommending it to everyone!

A toy store that carries a line of well made toys that’s on the beach, that I can drive to in less than 10 minutes and not have to see the typical same toys every time, that’s independently owned? Sign me(and my kids) up! I go here often. Whether if its for a little ‘treat’ for doing well at school, or to bribe my children into letting mommy and daddy go out for date night and leaving them with the sitter… this place is great. If you’re a Beach parent, I highly recommend you check this place out. Your kid will love it– and will be super indecisive, but it really is the kind of toy store that a toy store was/should be! PROS: Independent, non-chain, toy store with great educational toys and unique toys that you don’t find at your regular Target or Toys R Us. It’s on the Beach– so it’s easy alternative for beach-dwellers with toy-deserving children, who don’t want to drive across the causeway to get toys at chain stores. They carry a pretty extensive line of Playmobil. Very well-made German toy brand that you don’t have to worry about the child labor that was involved in it’s creation or lax safety regulations of some toys made in foreign mass-production based countries(ya, you know which ones I’m talking about). They have ALOT of toys to check out and discover so every visit is always a little unpredictable and a somewhat surprise. They carry educational toys that are well rated and featured in the latest kid/parent magazines. Free gift-wrapping!!! And kind service. Not in your face, not rude. Just there to sell toys! CONS: Because they are an independent, non-chain, toy store– prices tend to be higher than regular chains. The toys are not merchandised so clearly, so you do have to explore to find some cool things– and toys are stacked to the ceiling, so they aren’t always so accessible.

What do you get a two year old for her birthday? Yes, exactly I didn’t know either but I was thinking something colorful and educational. Nerdiness can and should be instilled at a young age. You don’t see too many independent toy stores in Miami so when I walked past A to Z toys I knew I wanted to step in and look for this dream toddler gift. I wondered around this small but jam packed store. The owner then approached me and helped me find some really great toys and then there it was, the dream gift. A dry erase board on one side, magnetic blackboard on the other, with colorful magnetic letters and numbers. Ding Ding Ding B-I-N-G-O Throw in a cute Sesame Street book with some computerized talking pen and I was finished shopping. Gift wrapping is complimentary and cute.
