1818 Meridian House

A true example of tourist trap! What is advertised as two bedroom apartment is technically one bedroom. The kitchen equipments are minimum with the lowest quality. Walls are so thin that you can hear neighbors. Pros: very clean.

This is a cute little place to stay, it’s close to Lincoln road and a 10 – 15 min walk to the beach if you are looking for a low key, away from loud and noisy area of Miami beach. The staff are cool. We got a studio at first but the fridge wasn’t working so they upgrade us to a suite. It’s a total night and day stay. We were totally satisfy with the accommodation of the suite. Customer service is my weakness. I would pay double the price for anything due to my satisfaction on customer service. Everything looks great on the suite, furniture to bed to kitchen! I’d definitely go back and stay extra longer if I’m in the Miami area ever again.

PROS
— This place is super cute! Stayed here this past weekend. There were 5 of us, and we got the 2 bedroom suite which was perfect since there was 1 queen bed, 1 twin bed, 1 twin bed pull out, and the sofa bed. It comes equipped with a living room, an ipad dock, free wifi, a fridge, fully stocked plates/​cups/​bowls, washer and dryer, etc.
— The location was okay. It’s pretty close to Lincoln Road Mall (in-​between Lincoln Road Mall and the Holocaust Memorial). There is a grocery store «walking distance» to this place so you can stock up the fridge. Still, it felt a little far from everything, or maybe I’m just that lazy.
CONS
— As the other Unilocaler mentioned, there is no elevator. But it’s only 2 stories so it wasn’t really an issue for us.
— Management is okay AT BEST. But hospitality is key in the lodging industry no?
— Housemaids are outsourced and were not friendly.
— All 5 of us got bed bugs or some type of insect bites from the place. I’m not sure if they’re not washing their sheet but that was the ultimate minus in stars.
— If you want late check out, it is $ 50 extra. But you can’t just call them and say you want late check out. They make you come at that moment with your license and credit card, and you must pay the $ 50 beforehand. Ugh seriously? You have my card on file, why are ya’ll so paranoid.

Sept 2015-​Nice place to stay but good customer service had to be pulled out of Management.
First I will start by saying this place is very cute and the price was great. Think chic apartments in the city with an Ikea design. We rented a 2 bedroom for a girlfriend’s weekend getaway. Couple of things to be aware of… Rental office is on the top floor. NO ELEVATOR! So if possible have someone stay with your luggage downstairs if you have a lower level rental. Also the hotel does not provide face towels. They have bath towels and hand towels but no face towels. Not a big deal if we had of known this up front. A quick trip to Ross or Marshalls (not far at all. quick Über ride) took care of that problem.
Now let’s talk about areas of opportunity for management.
Wi-​Fi or room phone did not work for our entire stay. The in-​room iPad did not work until Saturday but only after Management connected it to another room’s Wi-​Fi. They could have just given us the same code and our Wi-​Fi problem would have been corrected.
Housekeeping stole/​destroyed our special cups. So you know the cute plastic cups you get kids with the straws. well we had those to carry our adult beverages on the beach. Housekeeping «threw them away». Who does that? Who doesn’t know those are not disposable cups?
We reported all of our situations to Management promptly. Management was very defensive and kind of rude about what should be done to rectify these situations. In the end they just didn’t charge us the late checkout fee ($ 50.00) which we thought was responsible but it was like pulling teeth to get to the end result.
We all agreed we would come back to the property. Just have a hotspot, lock your cups away and bring your own face towels.

Nice spot if ur coming for business or pleasure not too far from the party spots but far enough from all the commotion…
I would definitely stay again…
Only con is that you have to pay for parking but the units are very clean and maintained!
