Food is okay, management is awful. I tried to apply for a chef position a few years ago, the woman told me «that’s a mans job», I haven’t been back since.

My teenaged son loves the chicken fingers but I don’t care for them. I do love the chicken broccoli alfredo pasta dinner(side of garlic bread *and* a side salad, everything delicious) and the chicken broccoli alfredo calzone.

This is probably the worst Roast beef sandwich in the area, the roast beef was so over cooked and dry! I figured I’d just eat the pizza roll, and that was over cooked! They offered me a free sandwich, I’ll pass! To many other roast beef places in the area to try that again

1st trip after the old owners sold it I watched the cook run his hands through a Kids Hair 4 times and continue making food. 2nd time today I place an order on the phone and they tell me order # 15 so I get there and tell the girl my # and she say’s a few Min, so I wait 10 min and while waiting there is an order on the counter and the girl yells #29 twice and I say what’s the order and she say’s exactly my order so I say I have been waiting here 10 min while my order has been on the counter(not even on the warmer) because you didn’t know the correct #, she say’s nothing explaining why. so discombobulated this place is. I miss the old owners

Six months later and we love it all the more. Phenomenal fries and my son cannot get enough of the chicken.

The only things better than the tangy«bbq» sauce and perfectly cooked and sliced roast beef are the friendly counter staff and ready-to-order preparedness of the kitchen staff. I had a junior and should’ve gone with the onion roll and cheese, but I’m en route to a meeting and played it safe as a newcomer. This is my first time here and I know it would be the start of something questionable if I lived any closer than I do… Check this place out for lots of flavor and friendliness!

I love this place when I’m in a rush. They have an awesome Greek salad– the Greek dressing is so good! My kids really enjoy the pizza. It’s always clean and the staff is friendly.

My stop at Royal House was a last minute decision. I had never been but didn’t feel like cooking. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and started to eat my warm roast beef sub. It was cooked perfect and melted in my mouth. I think I am going to make this a weekly stop!

I’ve come to this restaurant for years under the original owners. Now with the new management and owner thr place looks a bit slicker. Now you can actually pay with credit card which you couldn’t do before. That in itself is a huge improvement. Unfortunately, with all the improvements came an increase in cost. I just ordered a Greek Salad with Chicken and it cost me 9.36. That’s an arm and a leg for this type of meal. I can have a better meal at Chilli’s for the same price, as well as a better environment. I just don’t think that this place is worth the price.

I’ve eaten many roast beef sandwiches from this joint. I’ve even sent people here. But, after the one I ate on Thursday, I’ll never return. Sick ever since, stomach in turmoil, bad beef, served with a high price and a real bad attitude. Poor parking, no bathroom, and they are real stingy with their barbecue sauce. Avoid this dump.

This place is actually pretty good, if not one of the best quick food dining not places in the area… Overall, the philly steaks are quite tasty with the meat/cheese tasting delicious and the bread wasn’t too bad either. The service here was not outstanding but also not bad and the location itself was decent but a bit difficult to find. Pros– Meal Roast beef Selection Price Cons– Location Average service Closes early

Typical Greek roast beef shop serving sandwiches and pizza. The food is good and the prices are fair. If you like real veal they still serve veal parm with real veal rather than the breaded patties made with mystery meat. The service here stands out. The counter help has been here a long time and they treat all of their customers very well. They are genuinely pleased to see you when you walk in and that’s missing from many places today.

Nice rare roast beef, buttery bun, and real horseradish. Definitely gets a thumbs up from me! We got a bunch of sandwiches for the office and everybody was left satisfied. I will be back if I’m in the Methuen area.

The food is good… when they make the order correctly. I’ve gotten food from this place 7 times in the past 6 months. They have messed up my order 4 times. Yes, 4TIMES!!! I order the same exact thing every time, a large roast beef sub with pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, extra mayo, american cheese and relish hots. Twice they have put onions on my sandwich, once they put banana peppers, and this last time they did not put tomatoes on my sandwich. The problem lies in the fact that when you tell the woman at the counter your order, she does not write it down. She thinks that she can memorize it, but with a failure rate of over %50, she should not depend on her memory or the memory of the person making the sandwich. This last time, today, I finally decided to call them about it because I’ve had enough. I tried to explain the situation to her and instead letting me talk she insisted on continually interrupting me and not letting me finish my sentences, and I STRONGLY hate it when people interrupt me. As me being the customer and they are in business to make money, money that the customer must give them, the woman should have just kept quiet and let me say what I wanted to say. The woman’s first excuse was«Well I repeat back to the person who makes the subs and they must be the one thats making mistakes». Ok, so blame someone else instead of just saying that you are sorry and it will never happen again. First rule, you never blame another coworker, it just makes you look like a very bad person. I tried to tell her that they should write down the orders, like every other restaurant, so that the mistakes will be far less often. The woman says«We have been doing it this same way for 25 years. Even if we did write it down the cook would not see it either so there is no point». WHAT?!? Every other place in the world the cook gets to see the order ticket. Thats how they know what to make and not have mistakes. So you are telling me that you guys have been messing up orders with a failure rate of over %50 for the past 25 years?!? How absurd. I may as well just tell my order directly to the cook instead of playing the telephone game where the chance of mistakes increases with every person that the order needs to be passed along through and relied upon their memory. The lack of a public restroom is HORRIBLE and I am shocked that the towns code allows that where as most other town require a public restroom at an eat-in restaurant. I want to wash my hands before I eat. I should not be told to go next door and use their restroom where I will end up having to touch a bunch more doors and such on my way back unless I get extremely anal and carry paper towels all the way back with me. It is just unreasonable. Even though the food does taste great, having my order be messed up far too often has left me to never order food from their again unless they can improve their ordering system.

Ate here for lunch, seemed like a townie place. Counter service with a few tables. 3 sizes of roast beef — I had the large served on an onion bun with a choice of mayo and BBQ sauce(I did bbq). Also had onion rings which were lightly battered and very good. Would come back again.

I had a few hours to kill in the Andover area, found the Royal House on Unilocal and figured I’d give it a shot. Service was fast and the employees were pleasant. I took my food to go, but the dining room was pretty much what you’d expect from a roast beef joint; nothing to write home about. Before getting to the food, I have to admit that I dropped them a half star for not taking credit cards. I get that businesses want to avoid processing fees and the hassle of renting equipment, etc, but it’s crap to tell customers to go to the ATM, pay a few bucks in fees and get back in line if they don’t have cash. I had cash, so it didn’t impact me, but if I just had plastic then I would’ve gone elsewhere. On to the food… I got a super roast beef with bbq sauce. The roast beef was great; tender and flavorful without being bloody or chewy. The bbq sauce was also very good. A little spicy kick and thinner than most bbq sauces; it worked really well. The onion roll that it was served on held up pretty well, but did get soggy by the end. Overall, the sandwich was 4.5 stars. The fries were mediocre, especially considering the price. They were just your standard, thin-cut, McDonald’s-style fries, without much in the way of seasoning. They give you a TON of them, but $ 4 for a ton of meh fries took a half star off of my review. Overall, if you’re looking for a roast beef sandwich, this place is a good choice.

Ended up here on a fluke. Was on a road trip and happened to see the sign and figured we would try it out. What a super surprise for us! We each got a roast beef and we got some onion rings. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the roast beef was utterly delish! I would highly recommend this spot. If I had to complain about 1 thing, it would be the lack of rest room. They transfer you over to the dunks next door and it was GROSS!!!
