I have been coming to eat at Peppermill for years, but this was my first trip in a while. As always, everything was delicious! Our waiter was friendly and efficient. The bread at the table is wonderful. In our party of three we got: panned chicken with fettuccini and a dinner salad, grilled chicken with parmesan broccoli and crawfish bisque, and chicken parmesan with shrimp and artichoke soup. Everything was good, but the chicken parmesan was outstanding. The red sauce is amazing– acidic but with a little sweet, thick but not too thick, really bursting with flavor. I can’t wait to come back again!

This was my first time here and I enjoyed my mediterranean omelette. Only disappointment was no kid menu, and the omelette didn’t come with meat.

Wow wow wow. What a treat. Older restaurant but dressed up and serving fantastic dinners. We had shrimp creole and cheese rigatoni. Still waddling down street. TASTY and large portions. Fortunately we had walked to the restaurant so we were forced to move after eating such rich food. Highly recommend.

Everyone says that the Peppermill is the place old people go to eat. Well there’s a reason for that. It’s consistent, very competitively priced, and the service is pretty good. We had the Redfish Almondine, Crawfish Bisque, and the Crab Dip on Saturday night with the request that the meal be spaced out. The server was friendly and nailed the timing. The food was hot and moist(I love using that word). All in all, a good night out.

Ordered breakfast takeout on a Sunday. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. I had the Mediterranean omelet and it was delectable! It came with so much food that I had half of it as a snack later. Since the order was to go, I can’t speak to ambiance or service but everything was great with our to Geaux breakfast and I’d definitely order from there again.

I always hear good things about Peppermill, particularly their brunch. We went for dinner yesterday with a larger party around 4. The dining room itself is really nice! Really well lit. Our server seemed nervous but was really on top of making sure we got new drinks as soon as they were close to empty. We had the crawfish dip, Paneed Chicken, and Chicken Picatta. All of them were really really good and perfect portions in my opinion.

First and foremost: if you go here on a Sunday, be dressed in Sunday clothes. We did not know what type of people were there until we got inside. Uhhhhh, I was in gym attire. Awk. Ward. It is mostly older(grama/grampa) aged people. The food looked delicious but definitely outside my budget for a Sunday lunch. However the server understood because I told her I had checked online etc etc. and she completely understood when we said we would leave, only after profusely apologizing! I would love to return, this time prepared.

Very good place for a business breakfast, but can’t hold a candle to places like Dot’s Diner. One of my pet peeves is restaurants that put«lump» crabmeat in the menu(like the lump crab cake in the Peppermill menu) and serve claw meat instead. I was about to order the crab cakes here and asked the server if they really used lump crabmeat. She spoke to the chef and informed me that they do not use lump crabmeat. Service was also slow so I probably won’t be back.

Arrived at peppermill today and this is the table that was set. Filthy table cloth and all. Rather than provide a clean table cloth the staff kept trying to hide the filth with napkins, menus, etc… Very disappointing.

Our FAVORITE place to go! Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. it’s all delicious. Their calamari with the honey mustard-like sauce is the best I’ve ever had. Their almondine, shrimp avocado salad, and pastas are all fabulous. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is pretty great too.

Came here for a very important lunch date recently and the food left us… unsatisfied. I had a cup of shrimp and crab soup(soup of the day) and a bowl of spinach salad with red onion, dried cranberries, bacon, and roasted pecans. My date had a side of eggplant madeline and a side of sauteed veggies(squash, zucchini, onions, mushrooms). That’s it. And it took over 20 minutes to get it. And the place wasn’t crowded. NO idea what took so long. The soup was ok, had to add some pepper(ironic); my salad was good, but that’s hard to mess up. And I got a taste of both of my dates dishes. The eggplant was absolutely fantastic, but the veggies were cooked too long and drowning in butter. Just not that good. I’d like to give them another chance, but I’d be weary of what I order next time. Luckily, the food was the least important part of the date, so we both left very happy, despite Peppermill’s best efforts.

I get tired of writing negative reviews, especially for places I really like. I had lunch here with my mother yesterday, and it was especially awful. Not to say they always have inedible food, but on this particular occasion the chicken fricasse was a lunch special. My mother and I both chose to order this for our lunch. Plainly put, it was salty to the point of being inedible. In other words, ¾ths of both our meals from yesterday is still in the fridge at home. The ambience was pleasant as usual. The staff wasn’t all to cordial, but still attentive. Our waitress managed to keep my water class full; this alone earns them a star because I drink A LOT of water with my meals. And of course, free hot french bead with whipped butter is always a winner in my book. This is what earned them three stars; however, if you’ll notice there were NOT any stars awarded for THEENTREÉ. Peas –salty, inedible Chicken smothered in gravy — salty, inedible. Gravy must’ve been from a mix packet or a can. I was starving because I hadn’t eaten breakfast. I ate half of the French bread, and two bites of chicken. I went home and finished off some tortilla chips. I think I’ll stick to breakfasts/brunch at pepper mill. This was such a disappointing experience.

This is a no-frills place with no ambiance. I went there for brunch recently while I was in Metairie, and to my surprise, the omelette I had — a vegetarian one — was quite satisfying. The décor inside is on par with(or perhaps a half-step above) Denny’s. The food was much better. Prices are reasonable.

Unbelievable chicken piccata! Took the kids they loved the spaghetti. The service was great and the wine was even better!

Nice environment with average food and service. I ordered the fettuccine with breaded chicken. The entrees come with a salad or a cup of the soup of the day. I asked if I could upgrade the soup of the day to the crawfish bisque. I was told that I would be charged the full price. I think that’s a little crazy, so I ended up getting the potato soup(soup of the day). The cup is pretty small, so I’m glad I didn’t pay the extra money for the bisque. I did enjoy the soup and the fresh bread. My entrée was pretty good but nothing to write home about.

Great Breakfast Spot with excellent food and service, the signature CrabCake Benedict dish is a must have for newbies. But I revisit for the best Pecan Waffle in the South.

I had a big bunch of limits from various family members for Easter Sunday lunch and the Peppermill fit the bill. We made reservations(a must for a busy day like Easter) a few days before and were seated promptly. Easter had a limited menu but there were easily enough selections to keep us all happy. Sundays have the dinner menu at lunch time which is really appropriate since this is a *very* old school restaurant. Old but solid. All 5 of us were very pleased with our meals. I loved that the salad dressing are made in house. And we had the veal with seafood, the redfish almondine and the stuffed crabs. We didn’t peruse the wine list or order drinks so not really sure about that. This spot does offer 3 meals a day so that’s unusual for an independent spot and my brother has been here for breakfast meetings and says the food is good. We also sampled the desserts; a carrot cake — cheesecake, caramel custard and lemon meringue pie. All were delicious. The server was on point. The food came out quickly and the tables turned over quickly, despite that we were in a room with a table set up for groups of 20.

Since most of the reviews of this place are from out of towners, I urge you to ignore them. OK, I don’t completely mean that, but I kinda do. This is a fantastic restaurant. Me and the boyfriend had a date night here and the atmosphere was perfect and the staff was friendly. I decided on the red fish almondine, which came with potatoes and some kind of merliton dish. I’m not sure exactly what it was, but it was amazing. I think that MAYBE it was mixed with crab, but I’m not totally sure. Yeah, no pictures because I was starving AND I was on a fantastic date and taking a picture was the last thing on my mind, so just trust me when I tell you that it was delicious and memorable. Oh! And it came with a choice of soup of the day or salad. I chose the salad, which is basically a garden salad, with the dressing of your choice. Another touch I liked was fresh French bread and whipped butter right on the table. You can’t go wrong with carbs and… hmm…whipped butter. All I know is that I was a happy camper when the bread came out. Perfect date place. Fantastic and attentive waiter. Nice atmosphere. Minus one star because playing 80’s pop music, in a place like this, just seems wrong. I will definitely be back.

My family went here for Christmas Eve dinner. It was wholly forgettable. Despite having three servers for a room with two tables, we had to ask our servers four times for menus. Ultimately, for a table of 10, they only brought us 4 menus and we had to share. How hard is it to provide menus for everyone? At least the drinks came out quickly. Four of us got the Crabmeat Angelique which was really underseasoned. None of us enjoyed it particularly, though it was edible. My cousin liked her veal parmigiana and I’m guessing that ordering classic dishes here like that was probably the way to go because it’s less likely to be screwed up. My mom got the Oysters Riccobono which she liked and which was probably the best dish on the table. The fish dishes were boring. I say… forget it. If you do go, I would stick with the classic Italian dishes.
