This is a cool place, but WHY do you allow smoking? I was told that I had to try the barbecue here, so we decided to stop in so I could get a taste. We sat at the bar, looked over the menu and started with some yummy fried pickles. I decided to get the pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese(my barbecue favorites). Full disclosure: they did screw up my order at first, bringing out a brisket sandwich, but they quickly corrected the problem and I was well on my way. The sandwich was really good– the pork was tender and smoky and had a lot of flavor without needing sauce. The mac and cheese was out of this world! It might be some of the best mac and cheese I have ever had; it’s definitely up there. Honestly, I wouldn’t dine in again mainly because of the cigarette smoke. There weren’t a lot of people in here, but it was a little overwhelming and took away from the entire experience for me. I wouldn’t hesitate to drop in and get an order to go, however.

New owners, newer staff, revamped menu, and everything is made in house! You wont find prepackaged frozen food here. Its all cut, prepped and smoked in the kitchen. I thought it was good before, but now its even better.

We were visiting from Denver and looked for BBQ this is what we found very disappointing. It was not terrible service we did not get any I would think since this is fairly close to the airport they would have a little better business acumen we sat there for 15 min with no greeting. It was very rude it also smelt like an ashtray not a bbq place if I could leave less then one star I definitely would! All the pervious comments were clearly left by employees or regulars.

A relative of mine kept ranting about how Moby’s has the best BBQ ribs they’ve ever tasted; so I decided to give them a try. I ordered the half rack of ribs, which comes with your choice of two sides. I chose fries and mac & cheese. The ribs were really good, but not sure if they are the best I’ve ever had. The fries were definitely average. Nothing special there. The mac & cheese was homemade and good with elbow macaroni and lots of melted cheese on top. Anyway, about $ 15 for the dinner, plus tax and tip. I’ll be back since I want to try some of their other menu items. It’s a bar, not a sit down restaurant. The service was very friendly. When I called in my takeout order; they had to check and see if they had any more ribs. They also do catering. Ask for extra napkins as the one that comes in the disposable takeout pack and the small wet naps aren’t enough.

Stars for food. Ambiance is ok. It’s a bar on Veterans blvd in Metairie and that ought to tell you everything about the décor. Discussing the food. I’ve eaten there a couple of times. The ribs are pretty good. The brisket is ok. Interesting smoked mac’n cheese, and BBQ beans that are mostly pulled pork. All are pretty tasty. Had a burger there the other day and it was excellent. What has my culinary attention is their smoked chicken wing appetizer. You can get them sauced a la BBQ or Buffalo or nek’ed. Tried them each way. Very good. But I’d eat them naked if I were you. They are probably the best wing product I have had in a long time. The chef took the time to season them very well, they’ve been hot smoked so the have the texture of baked chicken and they drop them in the fryer to crisp the skin before serving. Seriously, I dare you to find better wings anywhere. The service was friendly and good and I think you’d enjoy lunch there. It’s a little packed in the evenings for their happy hour, obviously! Bone Appetit.

I have only been there once, so far! The beef brisket platter was great, served with great bbq sauce, the sides I choose were onion rings and potato salad. All good but I would suggest the onion rings to be soak in buttermilk for awhile for even better flavour. I highly recommend this place, great food, ice cold beers and a friendly staff. Nice bar, limited parking, great food!

Moby’s, while primarily a bar, has some of the best wings in the city. Smoked and then flash fried with good sauces and blue cheese to compliment, it’s one of my favorite spots to go to get my wing fix on. The rest of the bar is pretty decent but nothin to write home about; good prices and friendly staff. But if you’re looking for great wings, check this place out and grab a cold one!

I really enjoy this bar. The service is always quick and hospitable. To my pleasant surprise, the food is delicious! They have great specials every day including steak night on Wednesdays for $ 12.50. I ordered the beer battered chicken tenders for $ 7.50 and it came with piping hot fresh fries and a side. It was spot on for my pre Saints game meal. If you’re ok with a smoky dive, and like hanging with the locals, this place is for you.

Ordered a pork plate when i got off work. Hard to get to the bar to place an order, and they forgot the coleslaw and only put literally five fries in it, the pork was pretty good and i was just happy to find somewhere close to myhouse that serves food so late.

This place is amazing with the food and quality is definitely something to be desired. The BBQ ribs are the best I’ve ever had. And half price on Saturdays! They were fall off the bone and a huge portion of good for a half rack. If I had a choice I’d eat there everyday of the week. If you have never eaten there you should definitely go there once and try it out. For a bar the crowd is not rowdy and the daily drink specials are great even with the dollar pbr. I like that they have a service industry night where you can go and have a decent drink for cheap after work.

This establishment is mainly a bar but they do some decent bar food and BBQ. Their brisket and BBQ sauce are Memphis style with a very sweet sauce that they also use in their beans. Both the sauce and the brisket at Moby’s taste very similar to Corky’s to me. The brisket plate is also a bit pricey here($ 15.05 before tip for the brisket plate and iced tea) but you do get a good quantity of meat, beans, slaw, and fries. Personally I much prefer a Texas style brisket and the sauce here is too sweet for my taste but its still decent BBQ. The burger here is a nice larger size hunk of meat and you get a choice of regular or wheat bun. They have a $ 1 up-charge for cheese which is a bit steep for a bit of grated cheese. They also sometimes have daily specials and its a decent place to grab a meal in a bar environment.

Its a bar. Smoking is allowed. During lunch it wasnt bad with only one person smoking and the doors wide open, but I doubt I’d want to eat here at night in a cloud of smoke. The food was GREAT! Pulled pork platter and a burger. Waffle fries were pretty bland. Could use some seasoning. The burger was cooked perfect. Topped with bacon and jack cheese(add some BBQ sauce — trust me!) One hell of a good burger, and I’ve tried most burger joints in NOLA. Port of Call, Lakeview Harbor, Yo Mama’s, Company Burger, Houston’s, Cowbell, etc. So far, this one is second place. With my favorite burger still being from Cowbell(cant beat that onion compote!) You wont find any crazy specialty burgers here. The toppings are limited to bacon and cheese. My favorite is a mushroom swiss burger. There are no mushrooms here. Boo to that! The pulled pork damn good. Its lightly sauced. Not too smokey and still juicey. As we were waiting we noticed a 1st place trophy for a national BBQ competition in Memphis. Memphis is known for BBQ, and this guy one first place. Enough said. I will be returning.

So this is the first time I’ve had a really juicy, bar food burger outside of Swamp Room… definitely gives the Swamp Burger a run for its money. I never thought I’d ever say that but it’s true. Yum!
