Disgusting. I would not eat this BBQ if it were FREE! Horrible BBQ sauce.

Really Good! Our property management and maintenance staff of 30+ work on Memorial Day so we decided to have a group lunch. Corky’s provided BBQ sandwiches with bbq beans, coleslaw and the works so that we could take an hour out of our day to honor Memorial Day. They were on time and delivered right to our door on the Westbank — and the food /service was great:) We will definitely use them again!

I’ve eaten at the original Memphis location of Corky’s many times and I find that this chain location, like most of their locations, conveys the flavor of the original food to a good degree. I’m not a fan of chains(and generally avoid them), but this one is at least true to the original example’s menu and quality. I typically get the beef brisket which is a decent but not outstanding example of how to bbq that cut of meat. Corky’s brisket seems more consistent with a long cooked pot roast in consistency rather than a nice flavorful bbq’d brisket but there are some definite smoke flavors that make it a bit more flavorful than a bland pot roast; just not to the degree you would expect of bbq brisket done properly. The turkey and chicken are a bit more flavorful and are good choices. I also like their hot tamales and I’ve found that they make a good sized catering dish of them that is nice to bring to parties and most people seem to love them and are very surprised to discover they came from Corky’s. Another interesting dish is their BBQ spaghetti(that I had many times in Memphis but haven’t tried at one of the chain locations before). In the limited choices we have for bbq in the NOLA area this is a relatively cheap and quick place to grab some fast food style ok but not great bbq. I’ve always had outstanding service at this location and every server I’ve had has been extraordinarily prompt, courteous, and professional in their work.

Waited about 10 minutes for a table. I had the pulled pork and sausage plate. Both of them were moist, not dry at all. The BBQ sauce was ladled over the meats, they weren’t swimming in it. The plate came with beans and cole slaw. Forgot that slaw is not very sweet. Plenty of dressing that I could stir up and coat all the cabbage. Enjoyed the meal. Very attentive waitress. Wife had the roasted half chicken. She skipped the slaw(her memory is better than mine) and replaced it with steamed veggies; they were crisp(not over cooked). That’s the way way she likes them.

It’s a chain. Great BBQ it isn’t but it is good bbq. The dry rub ribs are IMHO the best thing on the menu/ Not really much to say about it — there are many better choices but in NOLA you kinda have look for them. It is however convenient to the Causeway and the prices are reasonable.

WTF? Is this the right address or is 4141 Vets the right one? Anyway…Here was my review for this place. Cheap for the sandwiches. The fries were pretty decent when I asked them to do them crispy. The meat was dry. The cole slaw was bland. It was pretty empty in there but the waitress/kitchen still forgot some of our food. The picture in the mens’ room has a James Dean in it that looks just like Alexander Skarsgard. And that’s really all I can say about the pla

Kinda BBQ wanna be. Chain like BBQ joint. Very nice and attentive wait staff and service. Food I suspect wasn’t real BBQ from a wood/coal oven. Probably cooked and just given some smoke. No classic pink ring on the outer meat like real wood smoked BBQ. Food was okay. Had the beef brisket and pork ribs.

I am not a fan of this place either. BBQ Pork sandwich was very dry and the only smokey flavor came from the overly sweet sauce. I hate to admit this but I ordered the rib snacker thing(couple bones) and couldent tell if they were pork or beef. The taste was bland and with the weird lighting in there you couldent tell by looking. Guessing boiled spareribs finished in the oven.

For a place that is basically the barbecue equivalent of a TGI Fridays, it wasn’t bad. Prices were typically on the high side. But then, this is New Orleans, so there are definitely better places to eat.

I’m not sure if Corky’s is still open post-Katrina but it should be. Believe it or not, this is the best Red Beans and Rice in the City. Yes, you read me right. In a Memphis BBQ restaurant. How can that be? Well, it’s Red Beans and Rice with the usual Smoked Sausage but then they do an Emeril and Kick it up a Notch and if you spend the extra cash(and you should) you can get it with BBQ Beef, Pork or Chicken. I typically do the Pork. Glop on some of their BBQ Sauce, run some of their super warm rolls in it… Heaven. Seriously, this place is great. Service is fast and food comes out quick. It’s one of the feew places I can go stag and still get treated well. Only thing bad is the spaghetti. Skip that. Just have everything else.
