Fried chicken dinner(soul food Sunday) was great. I usually don’t eat Collard Greens, but they were excellent. Chef came out to chat about the food, he was excellent. Staff was fun and friendly. New favorite bucktown seafood spot.

Lunch! I’ve had the 4 oz burger and the grilled shrimp poboy. They were both good but not fantastic. The menu described the grilled shrimp poboy as having butterflied jumbo shrimp and that was not the case. These were small shrimp with no butterflying. And they had jumbos available because my friend got the fried shrimp platter. Sweet potato fries were good but not crispy. And as someone else mentioned they had black spots all through them. We’ve had three different members of the wait staff and they were all excellent. Lunch gets 3 stars. Breakfast! Breakfast by far exceeded our lunch experience here. My friends were happy with their three egg breakfast. But They have the absolute best biscuits and gravy in the city. Add the fried chicken strips and you have my idea of a perfect breakfast. But beware! It’s plenty for two people. I love the gravy because it is not overloaded with meat. It actually has very little meat. I have to say the first time I had this dish the biscuits were buttery deliciousness. Second time they were very good but not buttery deliciousness. Oh and I have to mention the yummy andouille hash– mostly onions plus potatoes and sausage. Sooooo good. Breakfast gets five stars.

I’ve been wanting to go here because I’ve been enjoying their Facebook posts. We finally made it for lunch today. We started with the onion rings. We try the onion rings at every restaurant we go to & I loved these with their cornmeal coating. They were crunchy and well seasoned. I had the turkey burger and I loved it. I was very pleased that they had an option for the town salad(which was better than your average salad) instead of fries with my burger. My husband had the regular hamburger and liked it very much. I took off one star because I thought it was a little pricey and the sweet potato fries, while they tasted good, were limp and stuck together. Our waitress was attentive and professional. I’m looking forward to going back for breakfast and trying the tasso hash. I like this place and will definitely be back.

This is definitely a local dive. The fare isnt anything special. Prices are moderate. The burger in a bowl is a heaping pile of wasted produce and the burger meat could use help in the seasoning department. The fried pickles werent very flavorable and the charbroiled oysters were a bit undercooked. I cant see myself coming back here anytime soon.

Have to deduct a star here because they recently change their menu and took a few of my favorite items off the menu :-( They also changed their fries and their burgers a bit which is a shame because I really loved the large potato wedges and just generally how they did everything originally. But ya know… I’m sure they are just trying to tweak their menu to appeal to the masses. I’m sure I’ll still come hang out here but how am I supposed to get my Cindy’s fries fix!!! Ugh!!! Why!!!

Oh wow. I came to this restaurant several times before the name change, and the food and service then was ok, nothing to write home about. This is the first time that I have come since the name has changed, and it appears that more than just the name has changed. They have done some nice renovations. Today for lunch, I had a bloody mary(WOW), and the grilled tuna(medium) that came with broccoli and french fries. Everything was wonderful. The french fries were great. I asked for ranch dressing to dunk the fries into, and it was the best ranch that I have tried in a long time. The bartender/waitress was wonderful, and informed me that the dressing was made in house. I look forward to coming back here. The atmosphere is welcoming, and is a lot better than what it was before.

I wouldn’t waste my money or time going here again. We went a few nights ago & the service was not great and they definitely weren’t busy. We were somewhat confused as to seat ourselves or if there was a hostess; I think it is seat yourself though. The vent leaked into my food & nothing was done. I asked the server to please let the manager know but all she did was proceed to run my credit card for the payment. I called to speak with manager next day, he just mostly asked who was the server. I had probably the simplest dish… the red beans in which they were dry & not very hot, but it disgusted me completely when the vent leaked into my food and I lost my appetite after that.

Decent burger joint but the service is mediocre at best. Sat at the bar for about ten minutes before either of the two bartenders asked if I needed a drink. Seems quite ridiculous considering there were only about 7 people at the bar. The spinach artichoke and crab dip was horrendous seemed like a pre packaged product with crab added and way way too much salt. The burger was really good though and upon further investigation it’s a chuck and brisket grind with no pink slime so that’s a big plus. Just wish the service wasn’t so bad.

BB&F is a new restaurant located in an old building next to New Orleans Food and Spirits. It’s nice to see all the new restaurants popping up along the lake. Parking is tight, you might have to drive around the block, but adequate. The building has a local tavern feel to it. Décor is early Bucktown, a classic rendition. They have a nice outdoor seating area It was ~6:30PM, Saturday evening. The restaurant was maybe 25% filled. We were told to «sit anywhere». Service was excellent. The drink special was a watermelon Mojito. Interesting, but nothing you would order a second time. Decent beer selection, but not written down on the menu. For an appetizer, we tried the Spicy Sticky(or was it Sticky, Spicy?) shrimp — Asian sweet/sour sauce on crispy shrimp served over garlic bread. I wouldn’t mind filling up on a couple orders. Entrees — an excellent grilled fish sandwich, really liked the roll. Good tarter sauce, not something that is typically done well in NOLA. Less impressed with the cold sliced chicken which is, uniquely, served warm. Didn’t see that coming. I guess they meant the slicing took place when the chicken was cold? Anyhow, edible, but nothing special. I wouldn’t drive across town to eat here, but if you are in Lakeview, it is a solid choice among the growing number of restaurants along the water. $ 50 for two including drinks and tips.

We just happened to drive by this place while out exploring near the lake, and having never heard of it, yet with the clear potential for it to be a new tasty burger fix locale, a note of imminent burgertime was immediately made to come back soon and check this place out from the inside like a Bieber in a stadium full of people with no taste in music to the point of making a shitty song go 12 times platinum making a small dancing mop the reigning diamond boy in music history.(Twelve million purchases people? 12,000,000?! Baby, that’s just ludacris.) Result for those who wish to read no further or resent the fact I just made a blatant Beliebering reference in a fricking burger review: This place DOES have a tasty burger. We got a couple of the quarter pounders, which priced at $ 4.95 is a great deal for a nice above par burger. Granted, we each added $ 3 in additional ingredients, so with mine transformed into a chili cheeseburger, and Katie’s transformed into a bacon cheeseburger(in honor of the late Dave Thomas and the now non-existent Big Bacon Classic whose absence will forever be a black hole in the fallen ginger soul of Wendy’s the pig-tailed she-beast), the total cost went up a bit, but still, at $ 7.95, not bad at all for a burger that makes your stomach really happy instead of feeling like it went to a coffee shop with Dick Cheney and regrettably asked for a double shot. However, here’s where you need to be careful. The draft beers(yeah I know it’s draught but it looks horrible!) are a bit pricey, and the appetizers are a bit extra pricey, so the meal ended up being far more expensive than we anticipated. The app we tried was the spinach artichoke dip, which comes in a miniature bread bowl, and although it was good, it wasn’t $ 12.95 good. More like $ 6.95 good. We definitely plan to come here again for a burger fix, as it’s close by, and really does offer an above average burger. We’ll just avoid enjoying any further appetizers is all. And really, if you’re wanting a burger fix, just stop there. (Like Bieber’s parents should have done at third base.)

Excellent addition to Bucktown. Started with the flash fried oysters, blue cheese and sauteed spinach in a brad bowl was amazing. The burgers are even better. We tried the Bucktown Burger and the Muscle Burger, comes with sauteed mushrooms bacon and grilled ham! The meat is ground fresh everyday and it’s cooked to order. You can really taste the difference. Topped off with an onion roll from the bakery. A must!

One of the best burgers I have had in a while! It was cooked perfectly and the bread was butter-toasted! The service was great and the prices were good! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive! We had the chili cheese fries as the appetizer and they were wonderful! Came with sliced potatoes, not fries, which was unique and tasty! I will absolutely go here again in the near future, so much better than Live Bait that was there before this new restaurant took over!

We went here on the 4th of July. They were very understaffed, but we didn’t mind since it was so hot outside and were taking a break from a festival. We started with their crab and spinach dip, which was by far one of the best I’ve ever had. Comes in a bread bowl and you have to eat with a fork and knife. Definitely not an «out of the bag» dip. Was not too impressed with the seafood, but their tarter sauce was great and their crab cake, even though a little mushy, was good. My mom got the ham sandwich and it was awesome. It is made with«Christmas ham» as they called it and had a really great Dijon that came on it. Also, they have hand– cut fries that are«chip style.» VERY good. I think over time this restaurant will work out it’s kinks and be great. Wish the sandwiches came with their fries though because they are SO good.
