I came here once and never again will I go. The food is extremely oily and greasy. I was extremely disappointed by the how the food was.

On January 2,2015 I went here to eat with my wife and mother in law before heading to the airport. I live in Virginia. The waitress spelled gravy on me. If I had not been wearing a sweatshirt and hat my face and arm would have been burned badly. The waitress brought me the check to pay. The manager told her to come the meal she said over spilled gravy. she had no regard for the gravy being spilled all over me. I would strongly suggest that you skip this restaurant and go to IHOP or Cracker Barrel for a good solid breakfast. We did not pay the bill we exited the restaurant with no desire to ever return.

We started eating at Scrambles at least ten years ago when they were in their old location and were happy they moved closer to us. I must admit I was concerned when they first moved to this location because the previous establishment was only open a couple of months and then closed abruptly, most likely because of the horrible sewer stench that exuded from the ground and could be smelled indoors also. We assumed the problem had been fixed since on our many visits since, there was no issue. This morning, however, we were greeted in the parking lot with the same nasty odor, but chose to go ahead and have breakfast. The restaurant was very busy, but no more than usual for a Saturday morning. We ordered our usual fare, sat back with coffee and waited for our food. And waited… and waited. My husband was sitting where he could see the kitchen order out window and saw our breakfast sitting for at least eight to ten minutes. Wait staff kept going about their business, delivering orders and topping off coffee while our food just sat. Finally, our waitress came by and said«oh, you haven’t got your food yet?». She came back with our order a couple of minutes later, but it was cold so we sent it back. In the meantime, she brought us brownies and asked if we would like them while we waited. We declined. No brownies for breakfast, thank you. She brought our food back about five minutes later and it was hot, but I’m pretty sure they just nuked it because, everything was overdone, dried out or burned. At this point, we just ate what we could and prepared to leave. I decided to visit the ladies room and the sewer odor just about killed me. Sorry Scrambles, I don’t think we will be returning.

i do not recommend eating here. It’s like bad fast food for breakfast. I walked in and smelled something that must have been bad grease because that’s what the food tasted like. Yuck. I will not be back. That was my second time there as I gave it another chance.

So sad to see a once great place go so far down hill. Sweet tea– bad taste and not sweet Omelette– all the cheese was in a single blob and sausage and bacon was burnt Home fries– over cooked Raisin toast– burnt To top it all of about halfway through breakfast a foul overwhelming smell of sewer over whelmed the dinning room! «Yeah we’ve been having this issue for the past three months» wth seriously were is the health department?

If there is a half star, I would rate this place barely a half star. This place is not only have flies all over, I had to slap my menu to catch 2 dirty flies as soon as we got seated. Menu looked decent but food was just horrible. They used old oil for toasting my bread and other fried side dishes. I could taste bad chicken oil on my toast. Chicken friend steak also had a bad smell to the meat and the fried batter coat all came off lose with one slice cut. I had to eat the naked steak| separated from the batter. Only decent tasting food was the gravy. Waffles were ok. Their small juice and milk prices are ridiculous because of its size compared to their large size. The smell of their oil that they used really killed my appetite. I will not go to this place ever again. Ihop is probably the safer way to eat breakfast than this place. This place is NOTRECOMMENDED.

Prices are reasonable for the large portion sizes. Kids love the waffles here and the wife always gets the California style breakfast. They also offer a military discount if asked. This place has become a family favorite for Sunday brunch.

The wife and I love this place. When ever we go to there, the service is great and the food is wonderful, including the homemade bread! I highly recomend this place to anyone wanting a good home cooked meal!

I have been eating at Scrambles for years at both the old and new locations. The staff seems to be fairly attentive to the customers and what they might be needing for their meals, drink refills, and anything else. The prices are reasonable for the large portions of food that is served up. They have a plethora of options on the menu for omelets but you can also make any additions or deletions to whatever you want to eat without additional costs. If you are in the area then take the time to stop in for breakfast, brunch, or a great lunch at a decent price.

Our waitress is fantastic. The rest of the servers are helpful and attentive. We were there on 10÷27÷12 and it’s very obvious why the Waffle House(right next door) is doing 2 or 3 x the amount of business. It’s the manager. Let me begin with our entry into Scrambles. As soon as we walked in, the manager started yelling from the hostess stand across the dining room for the obviously extremely busy bus boy to hurry up and clear a booth for us. Once we were seated, we asked for coffee. When it came, it was extremely weak. More on the order of colored water than any type of drinkable beverage. When we asked the waitress about it she said the manager waters it down on purpose. It took quite some time for us to get our food. It was at least 40 minutes from the time we ordered to get my french toast sandwich and my friends pork chops and eggs. My french toast was burnt as were my friends pork chops and his hash browns were nearly inedible. The over medium eggs came out as nasty runny over easy. After waiting so long, it was really disappointing to get burnt food. I’m certain its like this because the manager spends so much time screaming at the kitchen staff. During our horribly lengthy meal, the manager continued to become increasingly obnoxious. He screams at the waitresses and kitchen staff constantly from across the dining room. While he’s busy screaming at the staff, he pounds on the counter and flings things like pens, pads, tongs, etc. around. When the harried waitresses went to the window to pick up food, he was practically throwing the plates at them. In short, he acts like an ill behaved toddler on a Red Bull/Double Espresso high. While we were there, some customers came in with a $ 2 off coupon that he didn’t want to honor. He was incredibly rude to them, refused to serve them, and then asked them to leave, after yelling at them for bringing the coupon in. It’s completely inappropriate for the manager to act like this with customers who took the time to stop at the hostess stand and ask if they could use their coupon. Added to the unsatisfactory condition of the restaurant itself and the managers personal unsanitary practices, it’s no wonder that there aren’t that many customers. Décor is really tired and could use an update particularly since some of it is very unsanitary. They definitely need new vinyl tablecloths thanks to the ground in dirt on them. Much of the rest of the dining room needs a good cleaning. The fake plants need a good dusting and the walls, booths, and floor desperately need to be cleaned properly. Drinks and coffee are left on the breakfast bar counter instead of being removed. All of the above leaves me to wonder what the kitchen looks like, particularly when the manager himself is a health hazard. We watched him remove his sweater while behind the counter and then put his hands into his pants to tuck his button-down shirt back in. Without ever stepping away to wash his hands, he reached right into the window and picked up plates of food. We also watched him go into the kitchen and prep food without a hairnet or hat and without washing his hands.
