I wish I could give half of a star. Produce never fresh, worse than Walmart… prices on sale items never ring on sale at cash register. Old sale prices never removed…

Why Merrimack needs two of these horrible stores less than 15 minutes apart from each other is beyond me. Hear our pleas, Market Basket. Shaw’s itself is so dang expensive. This store specifically is not very clean. It’s always extremely dead in there but somehow you end up waiting in a long line at the register to be «greeted»(and i use that word very lightly) by a young kid who could give a $h!t about you or anything for that matter. The store is dim also and just really sad. On the upside, this would be a great place to shoot a post-apocalyptic indie horror flick.

My photos of a bottle speaks a thousand words. When bought to the managers attention she blamed the vendor. Not my idea of a responsible approach to an obvious problem in their store. Makes me wonder about things I don’t notice.

Always a great experience! We used to shop at Market Basket until we moved to Merrimack a few years ago. I compare Shaw’s to Target and Market Basket to Wal-Mart…you get what you pay for. Shaw’s has superior produce, meat and customer service. If Market Basket built a store in Merrimack we would continue to be loyal customers to Shaw’s.

As an update, make sure to check any bread you buy from there. The last two packages of English Muffins I’ve purchased from there have been punctured or sliced open. I get that their bread rep overlooked this, but even outside vendors don’t seem to care about the quality of the products going into this store so no wonder the employees don’t either.

They need a larger organic and health food section… but this is NH so I can’t expect much. They do carry kefir and a few other decent products but I’d rather go to Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods Market.

I just have a couple of bitch points about the Shaw’s in northern Merrimack, and the two of them are related. The first is the check out price of an item is not always what the price on the shelf is. Old sale tickets are left on the shelves, and sometimes the sale tickets and computer prices don’t agree, The second is they change the sale prices on Thursday evenings. They start around 7:00 or so. So if you happen to be in there shopping on a Thursday and pick up an item that says it’s on sale, it might not be. If you happen to notice the discrepancy, the service desk will give you the cheaper price. But if I’m buying 40 – 50 items, I can’t remember the prices of them all. This sounds trivial, but it’s happened to me several times. Oh ya, the food is fine.
