Food is good enough, but the staff don’t seem real interested in the customers experience. You have to ask very specific questions to make sure you are getting what you want.

First, we normally love Dickey’s, this is why we stopped here. It’s a chain we like, why not? Well, NEVER again. Next time we are passing through this city, I will get a bag of Doritos at the gas station and keep driving. Let’s start with the service… Oh. My. Goodness. I waited at the counter for a few minutes for an employee to come take my order. The woman cleaning tables told me someone would be right with me, and after she had yelled for someone to come, twice, she just gave up and helped me herself. She was nice enough, but these young inexperienced workers didn’t care about their job enough to stop chatting in the back and come out front to help their guests. I didn’t see anyone come out until the manager walked in and asked where everyone was. Now the manager… He was completely unprofessional and uninterested in the terrible quality of his restaurant. He just strutted in, too cool to talk to anyone, and didn’t care at all when we had issues with our food. That brings me to the food… Don’t chop up my sausage and brisket. That’s not how I’ve ever seen it done at Dickey’s. It cools off too quick and we don’t like it cold. So please don’t get an attitude when I can’t even tell which meat I’ve been served. Also, when I buy drinks, give me my cups and don’t make me go grab the cups off the counter. Do your job and care about it. Okay, now I’m just venting, back to the food… The okra is the only good item we had, and even it was too salty. A great thing about Dickey’s(usually) is that we get free ice cream after our meal. Well, my hubby had to put his whole arm in the busted, upside down box to get his cone, after everyone else had… Mmm… germs. Then, the ice cream itself was so disgusting and loaded with syrup that it was quickly thrown in the garbage can. Great job Meridian, at ruining my Dickey’s experience. Don’t judge all restaurants in the chain by this horrible representation.

Food is hot with large portions, restaurant is clean, workers were polite(a plus for Meridian!), ice cream for dessert is free! I had an order catered and the food came clearly labeled, delivered by the manager to the front gate(could not get onto the base), and he did not charge me a delivery fee even though it was over the 10 mile radius that corporate sets.

Expensive. This place charges twice what most BBQ joints do and the food is half as good. The meats are dry and the sauces are runny.

I had the smoked turkey, husband had the chicken breast, both with 2 sides. Mine was to be a baked potato but it was soooo over cooked, it was dark brown. 2nd one wasn’t any better. I opted for mac/cheese, also over cooked. Husband had the mashed potatoes which were also brownish from being over heated. Cole slaw was okay for us both. The turkey and chicken were very good though. The drinks were made with water that seriously needed to be filtered. We’ve eaten at many Dickies and each is different from each other. This one wasn’t very good…

These people who work here are total morons. After going through the line twice because they ignored me the first time they still got my order wrong. When I complained the person in charge insisted I’d ordered incorrectly. All I can say is that I’ve been to Dickies all over the country and this has to be the most poorly staffed, most poorly operated, and most poorly managed Dickies in the entire country!

Stopped in on our way back to Bama from a business trip in Jackson. We used Unilocal to find it and thought it was a Mom/Pop Bbq joint. It turned out to be a franchise bbq in a strip mall. Walk up to counter and order food. Food was prepared fast and server was not very friendly. No hello, how are you, etc. Ordered a pork plate with two sides and the portions were small. One of the workers brought a 9 – 10 year old daughter to work and she was wondering around the restaurant. She stood in the way of the fountain drink machine. They have a soft serve station by the front door. It looked appealing until two young boys started touching all the cones. Food was pretty decent.

The food is average BBQ. The prices are way over the top. Honestly, the best things here are; 1. Kids eat free Sundays…2. «Free» vanilla ice cream…3. Big yellow plastic cup you can take home and use.

Food was descent; however, after traveling all day could not really enjoy the meal with all of the flies buzzing around the establishment and your face. Could not really tell if they were open and when I opened the door there were no patrons. For a well known chain nationwide this franchise could use a serious upgrade. Meat plate was warm at best not hot/fresh off the rack as others. Very disappointed.

Delicious BBQ! The food was reasonably priced, the line cook was helpful, and the cashier looked scrumptious. My sister and I both had the big BBQ pulled pork sandwich, with a buttered bun and spicy BBQ sauce. The meat was flavorful and tender. I had the baked potato casserole(which was basically mashed potatoes on crack) and the green beans with bacon(though I found no bacon); and she had the baked beans(with pulled pork) and the cole slaw(which could have been better). The sweet tea required a refill and they have free ice cream! We didn’t leave room and had to pass on that. The only downside was an army of flies that tried to get our food. They failed.

Stopped by otw to the in laws, they were out of the menu item we ordered(smoked turkey) and of all things bread? Also we weren’t able to get fries because they turned off the fryer in anticipation of closing in an hour. We were going to cancel our order and head to the Chili’s next door, but didn’t. That was a mistake! Staff was smoking and joking on the haphazardly placed tables directly in front of the restaurant, once called inside were loud and oblivious of the customers trying to eat with their families. I heard this was a franchise, its sad that the owner entrusted his investment to folks that lacked the basic professionalism to run it. Hope he realizes his mistake and adjusts his team accordingly.

The staff were walking around talking and singing loud around the restaurant. It was very distracting and unprofessional, I’m sure the owners would not want their restaurant represented in such an unprofessional way. The food was not worth the money we paid. This place doesn’t deserve any stars.

Good BBQ. Chicken was a little dry but the brisket and pulled pork were really good. MAC N CHEESE was great.

I know that there are many more BBQ spots here in Mississippi, but none that come close to Dickies in the Meridian area. I have yet to taste another BBQ sauce that compares to Dickies. The thing about the sauces… I normally(regardless of geographical location) prefer spicy BBQ sauces, but only at this place do I prefer the original flavor. It’s so good!!! It had a kick that makes you forget you need spice. The best part I think is that the amount of sauce is left up to you to determine. It’s an awesome concept that other establishments should consider. They make it fresh every batch so even though it’s a different batch the flavor might change, but so far it’s been unnoticeable. Really good still! The variety of meats are perfect! The sides??? Holy crap! Yeah so in all my life of eating BBQ I’ve never seen the side of Baked potato casserole. Well Dickies has it and it’s the best potato ever!!! It’s pretty much mashed potatoes but it has a unique and amazing taste, that you know it’s not mashed potatoes. Really good! Now, the Jalapeño Beans. They taste like BBQ Baked Beans only they have Been cooked with jalapeños! Do I like these? Um yes!!! I asked the meat server(they have stations for entrée, sides, and register) which is better and she said I eat the jalapeño beans everyday… And she was this cute white woman. I’m yes please. Make my side some jalapeño beans!!! All day. So I know Mississippi is known for their sweet tea. I also know that Mississippi is this worst health state on the United States and I’m starting to believe this sweet tea is the freaking cause. It’s so sweet, but so good! Oh they have free soft serve ice cream too. What!!! Again, worst health status is Mississippi, but they sure do know how to eat. I think, I didn’t see it myself, but I heard they have a drive-thru!!! Crazy!!! The only negative thing I have to say is that the location and setup make it seem like a chain/franchise restaurant, when the quality of the food states otherwise.

Overall, not really satisfied. not the worst, but def not the best. Flat iron fries and onion tangles were WAY too salty. brisket was too fatty. chicken was very dry the pork was ok, as well as the sausage. mashed potato casserole was not good either. the BBQ beans were only OK.

The bbq was very delicious. Sauces are on the side original, sweet & spicy. The thing that impressed me the most about this place was everyone who walked in the door was greeted with a smile & a genuine hello! When leaving, the employees thanked everyone for eating there in a personal kind of way, with sincerity.
