You can go to Albertsons or Fred Meyer and save a dollar per bottle, but you won’t have the customer service that you receive from Ilene. She knows her wines and always gives great suggestions. She also has a great selection of Idaho wines. Help support your local businesses when you can,

A New Vintage was the most valuable find in my attempt at «scouting» the Eagle area on our quarterly trips in preparation for plans to relocate here in late 2011. The wine shop itself has a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere. My sense is that they have a very solid selection(in the 75 – 150 vintages range) that the owners have hand selected. While I am fond of the massive warehouse-like wine shops(K&L in California, Astor in NY, even Binny’s in Chicago) where you can go in with your list of specific names in hand knowing if you find it anywhere it’ll be there; for those visits where you’re simply looking for a bottle of something-in-this-direction, a few bottles for a dinner party or just a few things to try out and maybe just a box or two to fill the cellar. I enjoy the«exploring» part of wine shopping. Judging from the selection here I’d feel quite comfortable going with their inventory. The selection is compact enough for me to not feel lost, and when I resonate with 25%+ of their selections that’s a great sign. The store is also a wine bar(which may be what half the patrons come in for) that is just very charming. The owners/staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. If you enjoy wine(or beer) I highly recommend A New Vintage.
