Ordered the Puttanesca and wished I hadn’t. the only reason I keep ordering from here is because I live on Mercer Island, and am at times too lazy to drive off the island to get better pizza.

I lived across the street from Tony Maroni’s for 2 years want watched the employees, DISGUSTING! Bunch of dirty smokers. One evening I was going for a walk and saw one of the pizza delivery guys get out of his car from a delivery. He was gross looking, in his 40’s or 50’s and he was carrying the red pizza box in his teeth. He was trying to lock his car so he holds the FOODBOX in his mouth. I’ve heard disgusting things about this place and now I’m sold. NOTHANKS Tony!

I have been going to his place for years and absolutely loved their pizza, but the quality has been very inconsistent and has declined over the years to the point of no return. Besides the place been an absolute mess, my pizza looked like it was missing half of the ingredients I had purchased. The basil leaves looked old and had the stems still attached, while the chicken and tomatoes were no where to be found. I don’t plan on going back anytime soon unless they get their act back together.

This place reminds me of a pizza joint I used to frequent during my college years. The food is of pretty poor quality but if you’ve had enough to drink it should do the trick. It’s a thin style pizza so if you’re really hungry you’d be better off ordering from a large name delivery chain. They messed up my wife’s order by adding two toppings she didn’t order. We won’t be returning.

Got a large greek salad, it was neither large nor«greek» unless you count throwing in some olives to a green salad«greek.» Large Maroni Combo(ham, sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, olives, onions, pretty standard) was less than delicious. Costco would be better if you want a basic combo pizza. The dough was bland and the cheese tasted tough and not yummy. Used a livingsocial deal, but won’t come back.

We tried pizza all over the Island. Pizza is a meal for us when we don’t have much time and/or much energy for cooking. Likely traveling off island is just not going to happen — especially as it will be dinner time/rush hour and traffic will be awful. My husband and kids quickly decided Tony Moroni’s was the best pizza on the island. It is our take-out go-to. Located in «downtown» Mercer Island, it shares a building with a Chinese place and maybe another place or two. My husband and kids love to have the pizza with pepperoni and white sauce. They absolutely love the white sauce. I cannot eat the white sauce. I’m going to chalk that up to my own personal preference and not a fault of the pizza location. They have other interesting pizzas to choose from as well. The crust is good, the ingredients are decent. The price is reasonable. It’s pretty standard pizza prices, but not a good deal. The location is not a place I would stay to eat. My husband is usually the one to decide it’s pizza night and go get the pizza due to my work schedule. I have been there exactly once. It was during the hot week of summer. It was damn hot in there. In the winter, it may actually be comfortable temperature-wise, but it will never be comfortable ambiance/atmosphere-wise. So, for take-out(or delivery) pizza on Mercer Island, I heartily recommend Tony Maroni’s.

I agree this place is YUKY… that is the building and where they cook it… but the Pizza is Fantastic! It skeezes me out to go in there… 1 Star on the place… how does it pass inspection? 5 Star on the Pizza… how can you cook such a great pizza in such a filthy place?

My wife and I went here a month or so ago and it was one of the least satisfying«meals» of the year. We had a coupon and decided to order at the actual location since we were driving by it on our way to our apartment. What an eye opener. I would describe it like Yzma from the Emporer’s New Groove, «scary beyond all reason.» While the guy at the counter was friendly enough, the entire place was dirty and stained. I think an old TV was stuffed in the corner of the waiting area — maybe it was a microwave. Frankly, I can’t believe they could stay open if a health inspector came into the place. The wait was long enough that I felt confident the calzones we ordered had been fully cooked, so we took them and left quickly. We were already financially committed, so we chanced trying the food. The crust was fine, but the innards tasted as if you microwaved each ingredient at different levels and then stirred them together. There was no well-blended savory feeling you expect when eating a pizza. If you, for whatever reason, find yourself picking between Tony Maroni’s and another place on Mercer Island, all you have to do is walk into this restaurant to cross it off your list.

This place is awesome! Fresh and homemade dough daily, homemade sauce. And super nice staff. One of my all time fav. s!

how can this place only have 2 stars?! their pizza is DELICIOUS! i like plain cheese pizza, and find the rosemary in their crust to be the perfect addition. i also love the cheese they use, it’s so creamy and buttery and wonderful! i would give their pizza a 5*, but gave the restaurant 4* overall because of the interior, which is obviously not great, but whatever, i always get it to go or delivered anyways.

Super nice service from the gentleman on the phone. This store has a number of really good vegetarian pizza options. The Gourmet Greek is one of my favorite pizzas of all time. They also have a really good Pesto Veggie. The crust is thin, the sauces are yummy, and the toppings are fresh and tasty.

Great toppings. Nice fresh tomatoes and basil. Crust is uninspired.

While having a lazy, hungover, movie-watching and pizza-ordering kind of night on Mercer Island I consulted Unilocal to see what my options were and was a bit shocked to see only two non-super-chain offerings with not-so-stellar reviews. After a bit more searching around on the web, we found reviews AND the web-site(with a menu — yay!) for Tony Maroni’s and decided to take our chances with the Chicken Alfredo and another«create your own» pie. The chap on the phone seemed like the typical«stoned out of his gourd» pizza employee, but the order was easily placed and delivered to our somewhat hard to find address without a «where is this place?» phone call from the driver. The pizza was delicious, with the«thin crust» pie being a bit similar to Pagliacci’s dough and a reasonable amount of quality toppings, all cooked perfectly. There is a thick crust option as well for those of you who are into«double the dough, double the sauce,» etc. If I ever find myself on Mercer Island requiring sustenance and not wanting to leave the warmth of a a quiet movie night, Tony Maroni’s will definitely get my phone call.
