Serviceable Italian fare. We ate here on a weekend evening — the place was not very full. The service was quick and efficient. The food was ok. Heavy italian fare. The wine was ok. If you are looking for large portion sizes, bread before your meal, and servicable wine — then this place will work for you. Not exactly my cup of tea.

This establishment is good and kept really clean at all times, including the bathrooms which is a plus. The food here is pretty good, but the prices are a little steep — I ordered a chicken alfredo with broccoli and it was $ 20. The alfredo was good and the portion size was decent, but I don’t think it was worth $ 20. The service is great, waiters are extremely nice and really quick when it comes to asking for other things like more bread, a refill on a drink, etc. The ambience of the place is nice, but very quiet — which can be daunting if you’re seated with many people and want to have normal conversations. Overall, pretty nice restaurant, but they would be even better if their prices were lowered.

Last night we went to Dicicco’s for my husband’s birthday — just a small dinner he, myself, and our daughter. The place was completely dead. On a Friday night, this should have been our first clue. Our waiter came to the table and let us know about the«specials» my husband ordered a special which was a rib eye steak, and fettucini alfredo along with soup or a salad. My daughter ordered an individual pizza, I ordered rigatoni and meat balls. Service was great — very attentive. Our food came and my husband’s steak looked like a cheap breakfast steak and it was covered in some kind of sauce. I figured since it was the«special»(likely cheap right?) that they were being skimpy. He didn’t complain as he was full on bread, soup, and pasta. My pasta was ok, the sauce was good, the meatball on the other hand tasted just a little funky. I should have paid attention to that funkiness. Gave my husband one of the meat balls and he said it was disgusting. My daughter’s pizza was very tasty. We were somewhat satisfied, definitely full and though there were snags in our experience it was worth what I figured was a $ 40-$ 50 bill. The waiter brought the check and my husband being eternally cheap handed it to me(this just works best for us lol). I opened the bill and to my horror…$ 80. $ 80 for three people to eat a mediocre dinner. The«SPECIAL» was 39.95. I don’t think I would have been so upset had the steak been a big thick juicy rib eye. This was not the case, it was literally a cheap steak I could have purchased at savemart for $ 4. The icing on top of the cake… that meatball revisited me and my husband all night long. Happy Birthday to him! I will absolutely never go to this establishment again. The service is great other than the deceptive«specials» but the food literally left a bad taste in our mouths.

Seriously the best DiCicco’s location I’ve ever been too. The menu was great with a lot of dishes that you don’t typically see just at Italian restaurants. Dare I also mention full bar? Something definitely not offered at other locations! Dustin, our server, was excellent! The whole staff was very warm, courteous and helpful. The wait time for the food was under 10 minutes and it was ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS!!! I was with friends who live out of the country and have only been in the states a short time, and one of the gentlemen noted that the pizza was the most«genuine» Italian pizza he’d had. I mentioned to Dustin that we had saved room for dessert since it was my other friend’s birthday in 2 weeks and we couldn’t celebrate then and ordered so. The whole staff came out and wished him happy birthday with a complimentary dessert. The establishment itself is gorgeous, very clean, appropriately lit and well laid out. Great experience overall and I’ll definitely be returning!

I came here to meet my friend for dinner, it was our first time. We had the calamari, lasagna and linguine with white calm sauce. I really enjoyed the calamari, however it was 13.99. Isn’t that a bit much for an appetizer? It was good but I don’t know if it was 13.99 good. Is it because we’re so far from the ocean and they don’t have much competition in this small town? I’m not sure but I’m used to calamari being around 8 – 10 bucks. In fact everything on the menu was overpriced. I felt like everything tasted okay but wasn’t worthy of the price tag. I have to say I can be a bit of a cheapo but I just have had better.

First of all, this place had one of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered, especially Brent who went out of his way to accommodate us so that we would have an enjoyable evening. The bread is so delicious, I had to dig deep to prevent myself from eating all of it and leaving nothing for my friends and the lasagna blew me away! I can’t wait to go back!

I am a long time customer(over 20 years) of the Dicicco’s in Madera. Needless to say it is fabulous! My husband and I thought we would give the Dicicco’s in Merced a try and I can say that I am so disappointed that it makes sick. The establishment is well laid out, the service was pretty good and the staff was friendly. We ordered a half order of cheese bread, fettuccine alfredo, and manicotti. The manicotti was pretty good. No complaints. Rather than giving you a long drawn out story, here are the problems that we had(and we find these to be substantial issues): 1) From the get go the bread was cold and spongy. It was so unappetizing that we did not even eat a piece. 2) You have to pay extra for a side soup or salad. It does not come with your entrée which is a little distasteful given the price of the entrees compared to their counterpart in Madera and the Madera location includes a soup or salad with their entrée. 3) The fettuccine alfredo was barely warm when it came out. The extra sauce that we ordered with it was cold and tasted like milk, not alfredo. 4) When we received the check I was stunned. So the prices of the pasta dishes were acceptable at $ 12.99. Remember these were basic plain pasta dishes. What was over the top was the almost $ 4 for additional sauce. We were not told that the sauce was extra until we received our check. Further, the half order of cheese bread(which include four small pieces of bread) was $ 6.99. To put that in the perspective, for the price of two loafs of bread we receive four small pieces of bread with approximately 2 oz of basic cheese melted on them. Despite the decent staff, we feel that the experience was such a disappointment that we will never come back again and will make sure to tell all of our friends and family that we would advise against this place as well.

I came here for a family Christmas get together, and we had the private banquet room all to ourselves. Dustin was our waiter and he was awesome! When we needed to add more tables & chairs, Dustin was really accommodating to us. I was really surprised that Dustin was our only waiter for our huge party of 30 people, too. Dustin gave us great service(constant bread refills, constant drink refills, and took all of our orders pretty quickly). After taking all of our orders, the house salad came out fairly quick. I liked how the dressing was on the side, so people got to add their own ranch or vinaigrette dressing. I really enjoyed the salad. For the entrée, I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. This was absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender. The spaghetti was tasty, and the red sauce was definitely very flavorful. For dessert, I chose a slice of chocolate cake. The cake was very moist and tasty. I wish the slices were bigger.lol. Overall, the food here is really good. The service is also great here. I’d definitely recommend people to dine here if they plan to have huge parties. All of our food came out in a timely manner, and no one was missing an entrée! I was really impressed. Thank you Dicicco’s for hosting my family’s Christmas get together. Everyone had a great time!

I came here on a Friday night and it seemed pretty busy. The customer service was pretty attentive, but a little disorganized. I think we had at least 3 different people come over to our table to ask if we wanted boxes for our leftovers. I got the manicotti which was pretty good. We also got the toasted ravioli appetizers which were nice and crunchy on the outside with melted cheese on the inside. The décor in the room we were in was pretty funky — Lady and the Tramp paraphernalia in glass cases and picture frames. All in all a decent dining experience but nothing spectacular or memorable that would bring me back.

My husband & I have been here a few times, we are new to the area. We’ve never been disappointed. The food is wonderful and the staff are very friendly and attentive. My favorite is the lasagna & tortellini. My husband loves the chicken fettuccine. They give you fresh warm breads do have a semi-full bar. It’s a great place for the family or to eat in the bar area & enjoy watching the game. Enjoy!

Great service. Cute restaurant. Was craving baked ziti and they didn’t serve that so the worker helped me create my own version. So delicious. Also comes with free bread and butter. They also deliver and do take out! I love this place.

My mother, my boyfriend and I came here to eat for a late birthday dinner(my mother’s birthday was on the 25th). We almost went to the Oakhurst one but my boyfriend insisted on us going to Merced. We had never been to the Merced DiCicco’s so off we went! From the moment we walked in, we had wonderful service! Dustin was amazing — he was in all smiles, he was very informative about the menu and the specials, he always checked on us and got our drinks refilled, and was a very good waiter. He asked if we were in for a birthday and at the end of the dinner my mom got a free ice cream from the singers waiters and waitresses. The food was very delicious. I had the chicken Fresca pasta plate. Penne pasta with chicken, tomato, green onion, garlic and Italian herbs. It was tasty! The chicken had a lot of flavor, compared to the chicken i had from DiCicco’s in Oakhurst. My mom had the original calzone and my boyfriend had one of the specials that included lasagna, fettuccine alfredo and chicken parm. Both of them enjoyed their dinners! Overall it was a very great experience. We usually go to the Oakhurst one as it is closer, but after tonight we have decided that from now on we will be going to the Merced location. It is worth the drive! The food and service at this one can’t be beat! Also, if you go to this location, try and get Dustin as your waiter! He’s the best one there! :)

After a long morning of work I took my work team here for lunch. We are from out of town so I utilized Unilocal to help me me find a nice place to eat. This restaurant was great! The food was tasty and uniquely made with their own recipe and style. Most importantly, the service was 5-star. We had Jared as our waiter and he was extremely friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about our experience. Thank you Jared! If we are ever in town again we will definitely come back!

Back again to sample some of the best Italian food in the area! The salmon in lemon caper sauce is so amazing! It’s a great alternative when you’re not in the mood for pasta but the company you’re with is. Tonight they had two parties of 25 each and the service was still right on the money. Love this place.

I think people are under-rating this restaurant on Unilocal!Perhaps it’s the prices they have or the fact that they need to work a bit more on their lunch menu. However, I always leave happy from this place because even though the food is close to average Italian, the restaurant has a very unique and relaxing ambiance. The lighting is perfect to relax and enjoy your food, customer service is good, and the BEST part is there complementary bread! ThenBRED is the best waiting bread you will get in Merced– so enjoy it. Their chicken Alfredo, pizza and the SCARFACE is good options!

My new go to place in Merced. Poor Unilocal reviews kept me away, which I regret. I was in the need of pasta and it’s near where I lived. I’ve been here four times now, each time great. Great food, friendly service, strong drinks!

Went to this Di Ciccos for the first time for Valentine’s Day with my wife. I had been to the Di Ciccos in Madera and Fresno before. The food here is the same good food you get at the the other stores, but I was pleasantly supprised at how nice this one is inside. You wouldn’t know from outside how big and well decorated it is. The whole restaurant is very nice and clean. It was busy when we came in, and it took about 5 million minutes for someone to help us. After that our waitress was quick and friendly. Very good service. I ordered the canaloni, and my wife got pizza. We also got the appetizer combo. Everything was very good. Overall, I think this is the best Di Ciccos yet. I will be back.
