A Touch Of Glass

Just bought a condo, and needed to replace two failed windows in the unit that had fogged over with condensation between the panes. Was recommended to A Touch of Glass by my HOA to replace both. In addition to being very punctual and highly communicative throughout the process, Boyd definitely went above and beyond. When replacing the windows, he noticed an additional few small flaws and offered to fix them as well. He could have just done the job and left, but he patiently waited while I peppered him with all kinds of home improvement questions. Highly recommend.

In my 3 years of using Unilocal,I have never created an account to review a company. I waited 2 weeks to see if the sentiment would fade, but it didn’t and here I am sharing one of the greatest finds on Unilocal.
I recently purchased a house in San Jose. One bathroom was made to be handicapped accessible. There was no shower enclosure, so water from the shower would hit everything from the toilet to the walls. There were also handrails along the walls, which added to the difficulty of adding an enclosure.
I had a few quotes previous to Boyd. There was expensive quotes. There were also designs that didn’t seem to make sense given the lack of space. In the end, I chose Boyd because of design knowledge, speed in installing (installed the same week as the quote, because it was standard materials), and price.
Boyd came in, expressed opinions I thought were very useful (ie. which way the shower door should open), and also put to rest any questions I had about fitting or sizing of the shower (because of the ½″ gap from handrail to window frame). He was always responsive when I called with any addition questions.
On top of this, he also called back a week after installation to check up since he was in town.

Our first experience working with Boyd left a lasting good impression, and we called up Boyd again for future glass related projects. Boyd created custom glass tabletop covers for several of our furniture pieces. He exceeded our expectations with his professionalism, responsiveness, and quality work. He is very detailed oriented, and knows his trade very well. We hired Boyd again to create some mirrored glass panel for some kitchen cabinets, and once again Boyd delivered results that far exceeded our expectations. He is very easy to work, friendly, and kept us posted on the job status, and delivered on time each time. Look forward to working with him again. He’s our «go to guy» when it comes to glass related projects. I highly recommend Boyd!

If there’s a degree on shower door, Boyd should receive a doctorate. He is knowledgeable, responsible, and hardworking. I would not hesitate to recommend him. Out of the grueling few months of remodeling, his piece went beyond smooth.
He is also a good sport. When I provided him a wrong measurement, and ended up with a large, useless piece of mirror, he gladly offered to cut a full length mirror next to my closet. What a nice gesture.
Remodeling is stressful, no doubt about that. Give Yourself a break and Boyd an opportunity, I am sure he will do just as fabulous job he’s done for me.

Boyd was referred to me by another glass contractor. I had several windows fail and needed someone that could fix wood windows. Boyd is very knowledgeable and friendly. He’s very easy to work with and throughly explains what he’s doing and why. Best of all he’s honest and fair. I recommend Boyd very highly.
