Neroli Salon & Spa

I have never written a review but I was so disappointed that my friends told me to review it on Unilocal so here goes… went in for a brow and lip wax for the first time (wanted someone else to do it for a change)… took 5 minutes with me … showed me what was done basically in the dark … went home and looked in a 10x mirror and pretty much tweezed my entire lip and most of my brows myself which again was the reason besides wanting to be pampered a tad was why I went… and tipped 20% on $ 32. now on the other side I bought product and the guy that assisted me was awesome which is the reason I even gave two stars. So sad I will not be buying my product or any services again.

Oh boy. Sometimes I’m just a lucky girl. Tonight was one of those times.
After a different salon cancelled my appointment last minute (I won’t name names, but they are on Oakland in Shorewood), I was in a panic to find someone to tend my unruly locks. It had been far too long since they had been groomed! A stylish coworker of mine, whose hair always looks fabulous, suggested I call Neroli. She told me to ask for Michelle, her stylist. I thought to myself, «I’ll never get in, things like that just don’t happen». Well lo and behold, I was delighted when I found out she had an appointment that very evening for 8 o’clock. I love a salon that has hours past six, as many of us work for a living!
Although it’s located in a strip mall, once I entered the place the vibe was chill and elegant at the same time. Totes comfy. Michelle was as sweet as can be and talked to me thoroughly about my hair and what I wanted prior to beginning the cut. I showed her my Pinterest board of hair that I liked and after conversation, we headed to the shampoo bowl…
I ended up with a fabulous cut! One I would’ve had to book months ahead of time if I was in Chicago. I can’t believe I called and got in on the same day. AND received such a spectacular cut!!!
As I said before, sometimes I’m a lucky girl and today was one of those days!

I’ve never been to a Neroli salon before, but after hearing good things I decided to give it a try. The new Neroli salon in Mequon recently opened. The interior is beautiful, spa and zen-​like. I loved it! And their hair washing station chairs are the most comfortable things. (I wanted one for home, minus the sink.) Parking is super convenient too.
When I entered the salon I was greeted with that wonderful Aveda tea and a warm towel for my hands. How lovely on a freezing cold January day? I had made an appointment with Michelle Senour for full highlights and a cut. I am someone who has very naturally light/​long hair so I tend to go a while in between highlights and cuts. By the time I made this appointment I was over-​due.
Michelle gave me the best consult I have ever had! She asked me what I liked about my hair, what I thought about the color, what I was hoping it would look like, how much length I was willing to take off, what products I was currently using, etc. I explained that to me it was drab and flat and I wanted more body/​layers, and to really brighten up the blonde without having it look unnatural. Well, the cut was fantastic, and the color just as great!
I’ve always walked out of salons feeling just good about my hair, but never wowed. I was wowed with Michelle’s work. The long layers are perfect, it feels fuller, looks fuller and she did a great job framing my face with the perfect length layers that I cant tuck behind my ears, or let down when I have my hair up. The cut was very flattering to my face.
Not only did my hair turn out great, but Michelle gave me a wonderful hand massage while my color processed and a fantastic head massage during my hair washing. She showed me how to achieve more volume when I am blow drying my own hair and tips for styling. I never felt rushed during the whole process, which I have to say has never been my experience at other salons.
Overall I would say the price is inline with other higher-​end salons I’ve been to, but the service exceeded my expectations. I booked another appointment with Michelle, and am thinking about scheduling a massage or facial there too. The spa was beautiful!
