I could give this place 3 stars if eating here for breakfast(which we’ve done — a long time ago), but for lunch or dinner I’m afraid this is a one-star restaurant so I’m splitting the difference. Just a BLT and onion rings left me crying«I want my mommy». But the worst was the waitress, who, if I had to guess, has been there forever. RUDE, glaring looks. If she could have chucked our food on our table from a 10 ft distance, she would have enjoyed that. Obviously I am exaggerating a bit, but she was just a very unfriendly woman. You get a way better lunch at Panera’s, or Pop’s Custard up the street. To be a little snooty, the décor is from the ‘80s and so is their cuisine. Nothing has changed since then, probably not even the Muzak. Leave this place to the geriatric generation and find a place more with the times.

Jesus Christ, this place is terrible. From the inexplicable strips of gelatinous fish on the salads to the ammonia-flavored burgers to the seemingly 30 year old food splatters across the wall of our booth, Odyssey Family Restaurant provides a truly epic journey through the Kingdom of Regret and the Nether-Region of Food-Hating Shame. If you care about the quality and flavor of what you ingest and happen to find yourself famished in the Falls but have an aversion to ubiquitous chain restaurants, Brisco County Wood Grill or Sawmill Inn would both provide a far superior experience at the same price point.

COMPLETELY enjoyed our breakfast here! The staff was so nice, and they went the extra mile for our little one! They are so nice here and the food was affordable, fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming back when we visit WI. Thank you again!

The food was very bland and no taste. I had a wrap and it was mostly just the wrap and tomato. We had to return the monte crisco because the French toast bread was very dry and had a bad flavor. Don’t recommend lunch

I wish I could put zero stars for review of this restaurant. The restaurant is filthy, the hostess is extremely rude. If it says immediate seating outside it really isn’t. The food was cold, service was slow. The only reason this place stays in business is because there’s not another Greek restaurant close by. BEWARE!!!

breakfast is usually very good, but lately the service has significantly deteriorated, food has come out cold. No follow from the waitress. Hash browns came out cold, told waitress who didn’t request additional, cashier too busy on phone to ask how food/service was. They are suffering from success and are not paying attention to detail.

we have eaten excellent breakfasts here. However the dinner really was awful. iT is a Greek restaurant so I figured a gyro dinner would be perfect. However, what I was served was far from an authentic gyro. The meat was uniform in shape. Which means, I could probably just buy this at the grocery store. As a kit. The meat frozen then Microwaved. I could not eat it. On the other hand, my husband had the baked cod with creamy sauce with crab meat. that was pretty. Tasty. I just recommend the breakfast. How could you go wrong with that!

Always looking for breakfast places and today was the odyssey restaurant. It looks like just another Greek place inside and out. At ¼ to 7 am there was people in the place so this must be the am spot in the falls. I was seated right away and given water and a menu to look over. The interior was the generic Greek type with liquor bottles sitting on hanging shelfs to say buy a drink. The menu is the usual Greek offerings but one thing caught my eye. The two eggs and sausage patties with the disclaimer of jimmy dean sausage was going to be my breakfast, see the pictures. The two eggs sunny side up were perfect. The toast was generic wheat. The hash browns were under cooked and could have been a little crispy for my liking. The sausage patties were tasty and juicy, not the tasteless paper thin that some places are serving. Overall the food and service was solid for my breakfast and I have nothing really to complain about. Judging by the amount of people of all ages at the early hour for this place people must feel the same. At $ 8 for my breakfast with good sausage I would definitely come back.

This is your typical neighborhood restaurant… standard breakfast options. Breakfast for two, plus a toddler, and drinks included came out to be ~$ 27. Not too shabby for a full breakfast, and leftovers. Went on a Sunday morning, and was seated very quickly. Our waitress was OK… not overly friendly, but did her job. Another waitress was very friendly and stopped by our table to say hello to our toddler and say good morning to us. I’d definitely come back for a quick weekend breakfast. Seated fast, served fast. One thing that was off-putting was the cashier or manager calling out the waitresses names every few seconds to let them know their orders were ready. This was VERY loud and distracting from breakfast. Your customers do not need to hear«SUEEE» or «MARRRIA» screamed over the mic every few minutes. You should definitely consider changing this for a better experience for your customers.

I stopped in last week for a quart of soup because my son wasn’t feeling well. When they gave me the bag I checked if they put in the rolls I asked for in the bag, and they didn’t. I asked the bitch at the desk for a few rolls again. She said she had to charge me 60 cents for a a roll because the new owners said so. The new owners must be real genuine assholes to charge their customer for a DAMN roll!!!1

Wanted to go out for a quiet breakfast — just had a craving and didn’t have 2 of the items to make it, so, we said treat ourselves for a change! This place is so noisy, the girls wear the ear piece to communicate, but still exist in the non tech world, They don’t use them. They yelled at one another, yelled a number over the back of my head so loud I jumped. Ordered eggs Benedict and the muffin was big, the ham was half inch smAller than the muffin, the egg was the smallest — thus, looking poorly on the plate. Hash browns were cold. Coffee was strong but not the best taste! The waitress at the counter sneezed a few times into her hands, then went about her business not stopping to wash her hands or use sanitizer.

This used to be a great place to have breakfast but in the past few years it has really gone down hill. The service is mostly alright but the food is below average. I live in the Falls but I would never eat here again.

Enter The Falls… it’s a land of it’s own. You aren’t in Kansas anymore, but there are places we go to for pet food and other various deals. Enter Odyssey… lots of people waiting, but I’ll admit. I’m a runner, if five other cars come in at the same time, I will indeed run to avoid the wait. Waiting for our table, there were just a lot of awkward regulars standing like they didn’t expect a wait. Kind of like in your space, back off and realize waiting is part of life. The food and service were fine. Our party ordered omelettes, which were good.

Great food and fast service… usually! Old folks love it there… it is cheap, and you get A LOT of food for your $!!! It is my in-laws favorite dinner to go when they come to visit! They also have the old school look on the inside… pretty cool!!!

The concept seemed lovely and the décor was comfortable and pretty for a diner-large menu, fair prices, quick service. We came for breakfast while visiting and found all the usual breakfast items, however the California Omelet with home potatoes was seriously devoid of any type seasoning, and both were extremely bland. Tried to perk up the potatoes with ketchup, but just seemed like so much of what WI food is-seriously heavy and light on the seasoning. Ate breakfast another day at Agora Café and enjoyed it 100% more, so will pass on Odyssey for the future.

Cliff notes: Waitress was awful. Cheese blintzes were awful. Blood Mary was the worst I have ever had. Pancakes were good. Not sure whether or not I came across this place on a bad day or what, but my experience doesn’t line up with the other reviews. We came in around 8am on a Sunday and it was fairly slow. The GF wanted to try the Cheese Blintzes as she has enjoyed them at other places in the past and I was looking for some Gyro Meat, eggs and a bloody… simple enough, right? Our waitress took GF’s order and asked me what I would like. «I’ll take the 2×2(eggs & cakes), but would like Gyro Meat». Well this confused her… she didn’t know if I «could do that» and there would«definitely be an upcharge». I informed her that I understood. A couple minutes later she returned to tell me, in a frustrated tone, that I can’t substitute and it would be $ 3.75 charge. I informed her that would be fine and she begrudgingly wrote it down and left. Not more than two minutes later she returned with our food… minus the gyro meat and my bloody. «Oh I keep forgetting your bloody mary and your gyro meat will be a few minutes.» she exclaimed. Meanwhile, the GF started on her Cheese Blintzes and noticed that there wasn’t any cream cheese in the filling. Just cottage cheese that seemed a bit sour. The waitress returned a few minutes later with my gyro meat on a side plate without the bloody. Again, she exclaimed«Ugh, I keep forgetting your bloody mary». Mind you the«bar» area is roughly 15 feet from where we are sitting and she has to walk past it every time she goes to a table in her section. My eggs were fine and the pancakes were good(hence the 2 stars instead of 1). The gyro meat was greasy and really salty. Eventually my bloody showed up, but without a straw. The waitress didn’t seem to notice, so I had to flag her down later for one. In the end the bloody was awful, very sour and watery. Needless to say, I’ll be skipping this place next time I am looking for breakfast.

You might as well read Rachel F’s review, as it pretty much nails it on the head. The demographic here is composed almost entirely of soon-to-be-chain-smoking high-schoolers with non-conformist attitudes(of which Rachel F is a prime example) and hopeless senior citizens. I can’t emphasize the latter enough. Seriously. One time I went here with some friends for«brinner»(a play on words that essentially translates to ‘breakfast for dinner’) and there was some guy older than Larry King eating what I’m assuming was a gyro at 2AM. From a viewpoint that stereotypes old people, this didn’t make any sense. Anyways, to give an actual review, the place is not bad. I gave it 5⁄5 stars because it’s in Menomonee Falls, but if it was the real world It’d probably be a solid 3. It’s staffed pretty much entirely by friendly middle-to-late-aged women and of course the without-words hispanics, the latter of which mainly tend to cooking and bussing tables. Nothing to complain about here, pretty much what you would expect from a midwest diner. I honestly can’t tell you much about their menu, I only ever get breakfast here, but damn is it good. The virginia skillet is a favorite of mine, but at $ 8 for something that cost probably $ 3 to make it sure does set me back a few — but I’m a broke college student so I always complain about this stuff. Anyways, breakfast is phenomenal. If you’re unsure of what to get, pull a Ron Swanson and do it up right with eggs, bacon, and hash browns. They even have oatmeal if you’re into that sort of thing(this probably ties back to the senior demographic). I only strayed from breakfast once to get fried shrimp. That was a terrible mistake. It had clearly come from the deepest bowls of the freezer and probably hadn’t seen the light of day since 1992. But like I said, it’s the midwest, I should be ashamed for thinking seafood here — or anywhere — would be remotely tasteful. I’ve kind of run out things to talk about. One last thing I will mention is that coffee here flows like no other. Honestly if you’re looking for the homey, diner experience, this place is perfect — not the best place it town by any means, but at least you won’t be eating at one our 80 different fast food restaurants.

My 100th review has to be for someplace special. So with that in mind, I commence to review my high school haunt, the establishment that contributed greatly to my growth as a human being, the(incomparable) Odyssey Family Restaurant. Typical Greek-style family restaurant, except exceptional. Pancakes to eggs to Gyros and whatever you could possibly want, they have it. Pie in the pie thing with the clear top for display purposes. Diner counter. Smoking section, back when. My go-to of choice was always a plain grilled cheese with fries after a night of underage drinking, or when eating before the whole«I’m 16 and need to assert my independence by hanging in the Odyssey parking lot» thing was going on. We were mindful loiterers. Coffee. So much black water coffee, all day and all night. With Malboro Menthol lights of course, because clearly I was super cool. The coffee always kept coming, the servers were always timely and sincere and nice, even if I was angsty or messed up or going through another of those«high school moments.» Honestly, classic is true… just like Andy B said. There are so so many restaurants like this in the MKE metro area, but I know it’s not just the fond memories talkin’… Odyssey is the proverbial jam. They’re on their game. And I’ve tried others… it’s still true. I totally grew up here. I was having life-altering, 17-year old existential conversation that was obviously mind-blowing. I was skipping art class. I was smoking and being way cool. I was in love with the Odyssey then, and even though I no longer live in Menomonee Falls, I still am.
