IHOP

I would have given this place zero stars if possible. The service at this ihop is horrible. I waited for a table without any acknowledment as two coworkers joked around at the register. I saw the waitress twice once when ordering food, and once when getting the check never asking if I needed anything or inquiring about the food. Although the table behind me had great service.
I took my check to the register where I was not greeted I stood there for a moment thinking she might have been busy at the register before noticing that she was barely holding her hand open while resting it on the top of the register as if to signal me to give her the check? She then counted my cash about three times trying to figure out how much I had given her, and as I walked out the door a barely audible thank you for stopping in.
The denny’s next door has better service, and the same if not better quality of food.
I won’t be returning to this ihop due to the poor service

Upon walking in this morning, I didn’t get the warmest reception and a few of the employees were arguing about whose turn it was to do something. We were seated by our waitress, Shannon, who referred to me as Miss Lady which made me a feel a little uncomfortable (I’m not really sure why), but I didn’t want to make a big deal of it by asking to stop. Shannon was extremely attentive and very sweet to my son who is the one who requested we go there for his special birthday breakfast. If Shannon treats all the customers the way she treated us, she’s a true gem! We gave her an extra big tip because my son was so thrilled with her and I also felt like she was misplaced among the more disgruntled employees there which can easily bring down the experience. I have no complaints about the food and of course, my son thought it was phenomenal… at least compared to my sub-​par cooking! :)

First and last time here. I watched too many things go wrong. The waitress for the table next to us continued to scratch her head as she spoke to the customers… and then returned to the kitchen. Also the hostesses were playing with each others breads as if they were in a salon. The food took a long time but i knew there was a mix up in the kitchen since I could hear one of the waitresses yelling at the cooks, all the way from my far corner both… unsanitary and just unorganized :/

Trying the chicken and waffles today. It is great that they have a ton of different syrups to offer! That’s better than just maple.
Servers are not motivated and don’t like working there. Managers are never around either

My husband and I had lunch here today and our experience was excellent! Seated right away, and our waiter, James was the best! He promptly brought us water and advised us of the best deals and what was new on the menu. The food came out hot and delicious!

We were there few minutes ago. It was hard to find the waitress once we were seated. We waited for a long time before she took the order. Then, we waited again for so long and as it turned out they had only one cook who did not seem to work. Many tables were waiting and others started leaving. Nobody seems to care there. So I had to pay for the drinks before going to Denny’s where I was welcomed well.

I’m giving them 5 stars because the food was good and the service was excellent. You know what you’re getting when you go to get food at IHOP. If they make it worse than you expected, then I would give less stars. Our waitress was great. She waited for my husband to order and he takes forever. Made a special drink for him and didn’t even up charge him. She was attentive and spunky!

At 11am on a Sunday morning, this joint was jumpin’. Everyone and their grandma wanted to eat at the House of Pancakes, so I figured there’d be a wait to be seated. To my surprise, we were seated right away… but our waitress never came by. Like, at all. The hostess wound up taking our orders, and oddly enough, the restaurant was not at all understaffed – just poorly run.
It took 35 minutes for breakfast to arrive. What the effing eff.
Despite having waited a long-​ass time for our food, when it finally arrived, I was happy enough with my order (raspberry crêpe combo, with eggs, hash browns, sausage and bacon). In fact, it was quite good.
The aged war vet next to me did not have the patience I do, and complained to several people (staff and customers) how long everything was taking and at one point threatened to walk out altogether. I feel ya, old dude.

I SHOULD have left nary a dollar tip for our «waitress» and given the rest to the host, who basically did Bön-que-que’s job for her. But I was feeling generous, so I left 15%. Based on other reviews, lousy service seems to be the norm here. The satisfaction of finally getting (a good) breakfast saved this from being a 2-​star.
Probably would not return.

The food is pretty good. Its quality is above a Denny’s but the service is next level horrible. If you are going on a lunch break, expect to be late. I left the smallest tip I’ve left in my entire life I was so upset about the service.
Out waitress took 15 minutes to even take our order and never came back after that. The food was brought out by someone else. She also screwed up our order. WORST SERVICE EVER!

Worst service ever. Our waitress could see we were ready to order but kept walking by us. After 15 minutes of this we left money for the coffee and left. I will never go here again.

Two pleasant surprises from IHop in one week. First, I signed up for its Pancake Revolution and then also registered to receive special offers, including my birthday.
BINGO, as timing would have it, I received two free meal offers on-​line for up to $ 8.99 each. Sounded like offers I couldn’t resist, but were they?
Armed with both in hand and my wife, we drove up to the Brown Deer Road location for a Friday lunch. Located next to a Denny’s, both appeared to have an equal number of cars. Talk about keen competition.
I have not been to an IHop in at least five years and it didn’t look like I missed anything but higher prices. The interior looked «plain Jane and Plastic» on par with
the Five Guys dinning room. The menu was extremely overpriced, and the food was
nothing to remember.
I had the Liver dinner, large portion but no flavor despite lots of onions, with
tasteless mashed potatoes and gravy along with buttered corn. A bowl of average chicken soup started the meal. Sadly, they don’t even have Soup spoons five years later and I again had to use a simple spoon. That was an $ 8.99 meal!
My wife had a Chicken Crape that she said was only «fair» for $ 7.99. Drinking water, we were told both meals were free. Besides leaving our waiter Javon a tip, I’ll give you one too. There are too many other restaurants deserving of your hard-​earned money and time.
I like to say, «never cheat your stomach,» sorry stomach!!! As my youngest likes
to say, «Even if it is free, if it is not good, it is not worth it!»

Our waitress was new but very friendly… she wsa not the problem. The cook staff needs to be retrained! One of the people at our table got their dessert before their entrée (and before the appitizers). The same person didn’t get their entrée until everyone else at our table finished their entrees. We were the only people in the establishment and there should have been no reason for the poor timing.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This was the worst service I’ve ever received at any restaurant anywhere. It took 15 minutes to get greeted, another 10 just to get water, and over 45 to get our food, most of which was wrong. After she brought 2 plates of food out, she started asking what all of us ordered because she didn’t remember. One order of crepes had the wrong filling, an order of chocolate chip pancakes were just plain pancakes with a small handful of chips thrown on top, and two platters that were supposed to have hash browns, didn’t, just for starters. She never apologized for the long wait or the food mixups, and the manager never came over to check on us, and then when all our food finally got there, she kept pestering me to see if I was done so that we could leave. Also, in the time it took us to get our food, three tables around us were sat and got their food and left.
When we went to the desk to pay (or, rather, refuse to do so), the manager was there waiting, and straight up asked us if we were going to be difficult! How rude can you be? He was very unapologetic, and after arguing with him and telling him how terrible our food was, the most we got out of him was a 20% discount. Anywhere else, that meal would have been free. We all felt like we were being punked.
Absolutely do not go to this IHOP no matter what. I would have rather gone to the Drive Thru at McDonald’s and eaten in my car.

Food was tasty. Our server was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere was kind of stark, and the tables were more crowded than I’d generally like. Obviously not fine dining, but inner-​city ghetto? I respectfully disagree.

Very ghetto service and environment. Recommend only for hangover or desperation food. Typical inner-​city franchise restaurant.
