Called in a Croque-monsieur ahead of time through the takeout counter so I wouldn’t have to wait. When I got there to pick up my order, they hadn’t even started it! After I get it back to the office, I open it up and basically it’s just a ham and cheese sandwich with a piece of cheese melted on top. Definitely not like the ones that I had in France.

Do not go out of your way to eat here. I ordered their roast beef panini. The center was cold, the bread fell apart, the lettuce was wilted and it cost me $ 13. The fries were hot tho!

Service, ambiance and food are all wonderful. Also appreciate that they take reservations and allow you to enjoy your meal at your own pace, never rushing to get you out. Pad your schedule if you’re coming for the first time because it’s a bit hard to find, as mentioned by other Unilocalers.

Cold quiche served on a cold plate, salad not tossed, dessert inordinately delayed(though comped on the bill) and indifferent service — a mediocre culinary presentation at best, though in a lovely setting. In light of this experience, high ratings are quite puzzling.

We’ve both been running around so much lately, I’ve been missing having a heart to heart gabfest with my sweet sis. Thanks to my Unilocal pal, Rene C., I had recently bookmarked this place. It is cleverly(and confusingly) tucked away in the middle of the sprawling office complex mostly inhabited by venture capital firms. My husband remembered it in a previous incarnation as the«Sundeck» He said if you were meeting with the VC’s to try to get funding, and they took you here, you knew you weren’t getting any money. They would never have discussed a deal they wanted to do here where their fellow vultures could hear them. As previously noted, the room is very open, with lovely views of the surroundings. Lots of interesting sounding choices for lunch. I want to go back and try some others, but for what we chose, I would have to say they read a little better than they ate. Service was efficient, but didn’t have a lot of heart. Here’s what we had: Gazpacho: 3.5 The tomato element was wonderfully sweet and full of flavor, but needed a little acid to balance it out better. Also it had some sort of rich dairy(I thought it was cream, my sis thought butter) added, which gave it a velvety smooth texture, but too heavy a mouthfeel for what is supposed to be a fresh, light summery vegetable soup Salad of the day — Thai prawn salad: 3 This(and all salads I think) are available in both small and entrée sizes at $ 9 and $ 16. I had the small and my sis had the full size. The components of the salad were all things I really like — prawns, green papaya, lettuce, hearts of palm, but the dressing didn’t really have a lot of flavor, and it definitely needed a more pronounced tart note. Texturally it was not that great, sorry to say slightly slimy. A rework of the dressing and something more pungent, like perhaps some scallions would definitely help. I also thought the large versus small size wasn’t handled very fairly. My small salad had 6 prawns, the large had seven. The biggest difference between the two was the large had lots more lettuce, which we know costs the least of any of the ingredients. Food: 27⁄40 Service: 16⁄20 Value: 16⁄20 atmos/intang.: 17⁄20 Overall: 76⁄100 = c+= 3 The location and ease of getting there off 280, combined with lots of other selections that sound as though I’d enjoy them are enough of a draw that I want to give Restaurant 3000 at least a couple more chances, hopefully next time on a day when it’s not too hot to sit outside.

Restaurant 3000 is an unbelievable place! Joel and Victor are so well organized and make my job easy. Whenever I order from them, I know it will be on time and provided with the correct items. I highly recommend Restaurant 3000 to anyone who is dining in, catering or taking out.

Joel and staff always treat us so well and make sure we are taken care of! Weather its getting food catered from them for an office meeting, or just picking up a sandwich at the café, we are always happy with the service provided. The food is great too! We feel very lucky to have Rest 3000 in our complex!

this is a business lunch and breakfast place for the surrounding office park. as the office are high end investors, the food is ok but don’t expect much more than a decently cooked burger, a nice salad, or an expertly grilled salmon. arguably that is all anyone really needs for lunch, but with so many 5 star reviews, you might think this is somewhere special. the owner is solicitous to his vip clientele, which is enough.

I am a big fan of the breakfast sandwiches at restaurant 3000, especially when Nery makes them. NYC style, crispy bacon, salt and pepper on the eggs and buttered English muffin. He knows know how to cook, and is very friendly too! Yes, decadent, but worth the calories on those deserving TGIF days.

This is the place to come to in Menlo Park if you want fresh creative healthy salads for lunch. Quinoa, beets, beans, beans, lots of crispy greens. Yum. It’s great for vegetarians and meat eaters. The atmosphere feels like you are in the country, yet you are just minutes from downtown. This place is a hidden gem.

The food is fantastic, and the owner, Joel, really goes out of his way to make sure his customers have a great experience. I just wish they were also open for dinner.

I come here often and do business with them as well. Joel(the owner) is the best. He makes sure I have a great experience EVERYTIME! He is in the kitchen along with his staff, working hard as hell. Food is great for business lunches. Great fancy salads and the occasional burger. My favorite is the BLT, they make it out of this world. He does catering to our local offices and often is hired to do events for large cocktail parties and private business dinners. Restaurant 3000 is always great at making sure the presentation looks beautiful, and it always does. I would recommend him to anyone in the Menlo/Palo Alto area.

I have had very good lunch success at Restaurant 3000. The place is whatever you make it – casual if you do take-away, a bit upscale if you eat inside, a bit country-club if you eat outside. The food is quite good, and for the restaurant(sit down) side, the prices are reasonable, especially for the setting. I’ve been there a few times, but when I went there for lunch recently, my friend got a giant burger for $ 12 and I got a large, delicious Asian chicken salad which huge chunks of juicy chicken and excellent dressing for $ 14. For what this place is, it’s a steal. It’s also a great place to take business colleagues(but NB: you might run into others doing the same thing). Out-of-towners will be impressed with how very Silicon Valley the whole thing is, which is pretty nice. Who doesn’t want a lovely view of the trees and a golf club while they eat? The staff is always on-point, extremely professional, especially the man who seems to be the manager. The only issue can be parking, which is sometimes hogged by visitors to all the VC firms at 3000 Sand Hill.

I have been here twice now and was very impressed both times! This little hidden gem is a great staple of the Menlo Park area and the quality ingredients speak for themselves. I ordered the dungeons crab sandwich special which came on a soft, flakey croissant like roll, with a lovely green salad as a side. Very tasty and full of flavor! The atmosphere is quaint and lovely. We sat on the patio today, which was partially enclosed for the fall, but heated by outdoor heat lamps. The view was nice and the food even better. Service was a tad on the slow side, but it really didn’t bother us since the rest of our experience was great. Prices are a little on the high side, but very reasonable for the area and quality. Can’t wait to come back!

Very serene setting amidst sharon heights golf and country club. Hubbie and I shared the flank steak salad and the special of the day chicken meatball with polenta. It all tasted fresh and delicious. Sauce over meatballs was excellent. Other dishes on display looked really good. The people who work in this area are lucky they have this place as an option for lunch! I would come here all the time!

I work in 3000 Sand Hill so this restaurant is very convenient when I don’t have time to go anywhere else for lunch. The food is pretty decent but the prices are pretty high. I used to come here quite often just to get a grilled cheese sandwich and truffle fries but after the 6th7th or so time they messed up my grilled cheese(the cheese was only half melted) I stopped coming for lunch. I went back last week with my co-workers and was informed that they don’t have truffle fries anymore. HUH? WHYWOULDYOUGETRIDOFYOURBESTITEM? Their weekly special was a southern style chicken sandwich though which was pretty good. We host our holiday event here every year as well so everyone can eat and wine without worrying about driving anywhere and finding parking. The holiday party food has been delicious so if you are thinking of hosting an event, then I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them. The portions have always been super huge as well. There are always tons of leftovers.

We came here about a week and a half ago for my mom’s wedding rehearsal. I guess they are only open for lunch and breakfast. At any rate, we had a party of about 50 people — family, friends, etc. and they did a wonderful job that night. The food was great, the staff were quick and efficient, and they made a really special night for my family. I would definitely recommend this for a company event, wedding rehearsal, or if you’re looking for event space with really great food — Did I mention how awesome the food was?! Thanks Restaurant 3000. We had a great time!

Awesome Service Check! Spectacular Views Check! Delicious Food Check! What a find this place is! Tucked away in the hills of Menlo Park, Restaurant 3000 is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday and mainly caters to the powerful VC firms that are scattered within walking distance. The dining room is casual and offers a peaceful setting. There is also an outdoor patio that wraps around the restaurant and situated on the sunny side of the building. The breakfast menu is small, but offers enough variety for everyone. Farm fresh eggs with thick crispy bacon included! But it’s the lunch menu that will bring me back. Specifically the Painted Hill burger. This is served on a brioche bun along with a side of truffle fries. Did you hear what I said? I said TRUFFLEFRIES! The Cuban sandwich also sounds very interesting. Citrus flavored Kurobuta pork shoulder, French ham, gruyère cheese and pickled jalepenos. Now this is something you can’t just anywhere. The lunch menu also offers some more substantial entrees like the grilled flank steak served with goat cheese macaroni gratin. For you pasta and seafood fans, there are options here as well. Considering the location, service and views Restaurant 3000 is reasonably priced. Most entrees are priced $ 10 to $ 15 dollars and the portion sizes are Flintstone giant. If you plan on coming for lunch, reservations are highly recommended.
