Once a week, I got myself an absolute treat … a music lesson with Alita. I’m an older adult, started my lesson for almost 3 years now, and it’s still the same — every session is absorbing, inspiring as always. Before that, for over 6 years, also here at the studio, I have a pleasure to sit and observed my kid’s lesson with Alita. That’s a long time. Today, in the age of Youtube or MOOC, Is learning from a teacher in person too … analog, so yesterday perhaps? I take lots of online classes, but for some type of learning, IMO, music is one, in-person lesson is infinitely different. Music is beautiful, but to overcome the inertia to learn, you need more than just what key-pressed patterns. Structure, process, and feedback is absolute required. A great music teacher therefore must have at least two things — the intellect and passion. The intellect to deconstruct the process and give the personal critical feedback, and the passion requires to give you inspiration to sustain and give reason to practice, to see all that beauty. Alita spent her whole life to study and teach music and it shows. I feel very fortunate to start and continue my piano journey here.

I have had several experiences with this teacher and find her to be very pleasant to work with. She is a patient and wonderful piano teacher. She has a few very nice pianos to learn on as well. Above all she is just a very nice person. I highly recommend!
