The internet has been spotty for over 3 months. The first time I saw no sign and thus assumed that the internet worked fine. I bought a coffee only to find that i had to go to Starbucks for working internet. Being in the middle of Silicon Valley you’d think the internet would be fixed, but noon. Months later(12⁄15) it still does not work and the employees do not seem to care. What’s worse I called the regional manger twice and she never called me back. Her message and the post at the store said she would. If you give us a number to management and encourage us to call than call back. She never seems to be at her desk. I also called the store manger and no call back, though I only did this once. The whole thing is too bad since the coffee is great and the sitting area is better than the Starbucks on the same street. It has a less crowned feel. The coffee is also top notch and beats the rest. I love Pete’s so much that when I was in the Peace Corps in Mongolia, I’d request care packages with Pete’s in it. I was born and raised in CA but went to law school in IL. I’d walk in the snow to get Pete’s and if you knew be you’d know that was a huge deal,(1st world problem, really). The whole internet thing causes me to buy my Pete’s at Safeway.

sorry for the 1 star — I love Peets, but this store has been without internet for 3 – 4 weeks(at least!). realize they have a captive audience, as great location — but major THUMBSDOWN on that one, as they just don’t seem to care.

It’s a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but the Wi-Fi is ALWAYS broken. When asked about the Wi-Fi, they said it’s broken and made no attempt to fix it, even weeks later.

Went back in and decided to let it go — as the song says… aaaaahhh but the disappointment continues. Last night my son and I went in for some end of the day relaxation in Fremont park. We both order Javiva’s: so here we go… the cashier tried(unsuccessfully) to make a comedy routine out of my name… and when my son asked for a spoon the employee with a beard and mustache rolled his eyes and said in a snarky voice«there are right there! You just have to look!» My son politely said«they are not or I wouldn’t be asking for them». The employee scoffed and went looking for them. After not finding them he said«well you will just have to use a fork!» And stormed off. To do what I’m not sure– we were 2 of the only customers there at the time. As an educator with an MBA, and instructor of business classes, author of a Bachelor in Business degree, and consultant. I offer my services at $ 150 hour to help this Peet’s clean house and get on the right track, if the mediocrely continues and I will take my money elsewhere

Since Starbucks was under construction I decided to go to Peets this morning. Probably not my best idea, it was so crowded. The gentleman taking my order was extremely creepy and staring at me like he never saw a woman before and looked down my dress. Ew! Then after I left the order line, he kept staring at me. I noticed the staff seemed flustered and on edge. I’ve been to a few Peets before and never see their staff like this. I waited ten minutes for my coffee while other customers were staring at my work clothes like I was a child dressed in my mothers clothing. Staff isn’t friendly and coffee takes too long. The only good thing I have to say is that the coffee and pastries are good. But you get two for your staff.

This is a pretty standard coffee chain. Comparable to Starbucks. The coffee I had was great(Latte) and the staff was super friendly. The seating area was clean, and even though there was a line in the morning, I was able to find a place to sit. For those looking for a place to work and enjoy coffee, this location has terrible wifi. Very slow, and would lose signal every few minutes. Had to pack up and move on.

OHMYMY! I cannot begin to believe what actually happened today, 5÷30÷15 at around 1 p.m. at this Peet’s coffee. Walked in with my daughter and husband. We were looking at the board, when the lady behind the counter nastily called out, «You need to place your order over HERE!» Her tone was rude and condescending. All we were doing was looking at the board. There was no, «Hello. May I help you?» As she began to take our order, my daughter changed her mind and decided she wanted a different type of tea. The employee became visibly irritated and huffed. My daughter turned to my husband and said, «Wow. What did WE do?‘ While waiting for our orders, another man walked in. He was looking at the board and the same employee got even nastier with this man. He said, «I’d like to buy some beans.» She yelled out, «Well, then you better get over HERE!» He said something to her that I couldn’t understand and she continued to berate him. I could not believe what I was hearing. Meanwhile, I walked over to the very end of the counter where another working(male) was making a drink. I was going to tell him that I wanted to speak to a manager. He looked down at me and barked, «What do you want?» I told him«nothing» and walked back to the cash register where the female employee was continuing to treat the«coffee bean» customer as if he were dirt. At this point, the gentleman was irate beet red in the face. He turned to me extremely angry and said, «I can’t believe how bad the customer service is in this place. All I wanted was some coffee beans and this is how I get treated?» I said, «That woman has been utterly rude. She was rude to me, too.» He said, «I don’t need this. What’s wrong with these people?» We got our drinks and as we started to leave, my family and I heard the male employee’s voice raise. We turned back and saw an(Asian?) female customer trying to order something. The male employee started laughing at her and said, «You need to speak so I can understand you.» I could NOT believe what I was hearing. I was appalled. The coffee bean customer stormed out along with me and my family. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER come back to this Peet’s again. This place is shameful!!!

good coffee, if you like strong coffee… you’ll love it here! The staff is very kind at this location. Located right in downtown Menlo Park. spacious inside, however, it gets pretty crowded in there because so many people come here. they have great food there too for something quick to pick up.

What a classic Peet’s. Beautiful windows looking out onto Santa Cruz Avenue and a small park nearby.

Yahoo, the sign for the 50% off Javiva drink was in front of the store again. I loved it the last time I came. Thank goodness I just happened to drive by and was thirsty. Had no problems parking since there is a large parking lot behind the store. As I entered the store the smell of coffee was perfect, not too overwhelming and not just a hint. There were a few vacant tables but most were occupied. There was no line so I ordered my Javiva and splurged and got the larger size. I really was thirsty. This time the staff didn’t ask about how much whipped cream to put on and he did a great job — lots of whipped cream. Looked and tasted great. Yum Yum. Didn’t take very long to make either. I definitely recommend Peets and their new Javiva drink. Go ahead and splurge!

How FABULOUS to go into a coffee shop that CLEARLY posts and enforces no dogs allowed with explanation!(except, of course TRUE service dogs, NOT allowing people who lie and pretend their pet is a «service» dog!) I am so sick of going into grocery stores, coffee shops, drug stores, party stores etc., where rude dog owners seem to think it their right to impose their life choices on others, and store owners look the other way, sometimes because they’re afraid of being sued if they confront the cretins. I absolutely support people who need service dogs, but do not support pet owners who sneak in or blatantly bring in their dogs where they shouldn’t be and pose health hazards for others. So thanks Peets, Menlo Park! I’ve enjoyed stopping here for years, and your sign is an additional boost to stop more often ~ besides of course, your rich, delicious coffee! I’ll look to see if all the Peets’ do this. I’ve stopped patronizing and shopping at lots of places because of dogs«allowed.»

As a Peetsnik, when I lived in Menlo Park, this was my Peet’s of choice. They had two lines, one for beans, one for foofy coffee drinks. Great bran muffins. Nice place to happenstance meet men over 50 on SAT am’s early morning… Just sayin.

Staff is unusually rude. Especially today, 8÷27÷14. Also, the regular coffee is too hot. I am by no means a «delicate» person. The regular drop coffee burned my skin when it spilled on me. You would think Mc. Donald’s would have shown everyone what overly hot coffee can do.

Solid Peet’s. Lots of tables, decent service, fast drink making. They know that they get busy so I think that they work accordingly.

Couple of points to make; Why bother to ask«room for cream» if you’re going to give me 2⁄3 of a cup no matter what I ask for? The move away from the low key classical music is a terrible move. The new music is loud and it sucks!

The employees at this location are very polite. The drinks arn’t as sweet as I’d like and even after asking them to make it sweeter it’s still not I guess I have a big sweet tooth. I’ve asked both times to make my drink iced an they made it hot. But they made it again with no problem. Overall great experience.

This Peet’s feels more like a «Main Street USA» coffee house, albeit in a high rent district. My favorite Peet’s remains the original location in Berkeley, but this one is close. I also like that there are lots of parking options(legit and otherwise).

I like this peets. The people are great and have drinks done super fast! This location is great because its close to shopping and residential area. My latte was done in less than 2 minutes, the shortest waiting time at peets ever! Good snack selection. especially the citrus bread

This is a nice Peet’s to stop in, have a coffee and get some work done. There’s free wifi and a lot of tables, so generally it’s easy to find a spot. Watch the Menlo parking nazi’s as they have a propensity to ticket for 1 second over 2 hours making this Peet’s, or any dining experience in Menlo much less appetizing.
