Our twins have been seeing Dr. Nader for years. Her office is extremely organized and client/patient-oriented. You feel pampered, and you KNOW you’re getting really expert medical care.

Dr. Sonia Nader is the most dedicated, thorough and caring doctor I have ever experienced. I switched to Dr. Nader 8 years ago, when my daughters were 11 and 13 years old. She has been there for my daughters through out their teen age years. She has doctored them back to health with minor illnesses, emotional turmoil, and been there for us when we experienced some very serious illness. In addition, she took the time to call me at home in the evenings and on week-ends numerous times to check on the welfare my daughters. As a mother, I felt the utmost confidence knowing my daughters had a doctor who cared about their emotional and physical well being. She goes that extra mile for her patients.

We had Dr. Nader at Welch Road Pediatrics for a couple of years, but ended up switching to another doctor in the same clinic. Logistics-wise, Dr. Nader does not work full-time, so I found it a little difficult to get an appointment with her. Also for whatever reason(may be it was just bad coincidence, but.), we received a call from the office to change our routine checkup appointments 3 times in 18 months, always few days before the scheduled appointment and forcing us to less convenient date and time, which I found a little annoying. Medical practice-wise, in general, Dr. Nader is ok, if your child does not need special medical attention. So if your child is generally healthy, only needs routine checkup with no special issues, you are probably going to be happy with her. However, if your child has medical issues, this doctor may not be for you. She is friendly, sensitive to the child’s disposition, compassionate, and is never rushed, but she had an irritating habit of not quite listening to what I am asking, and answers a question she *thinks* I am asking. So to get a very specific answer to a specific question, I had to always re-iterate my questions 2 – 3 times to get a satisfactory answer(because she kept answering the wrong questions), but many times I just gave up trying. She also has a tendency to trivialize issues… I believe she is trying to alleviate the fears of a parent as not to become over-concerned with issues(there are parents who tend to panic over everything, so for parents like that, her approach *is* probably best), but for someone like me, who would rather hear all the bad news and information as well as the good so I can make an informed decision, it’s very irritating. For instance, after my 2yr old developed pulmonary illnesses and almost was hospitalized twice in a month, I asked her very specific questions regarding the care, how long should she take it easy, any possible longterm effects, etc. and all the answers I got was, «don’t worry. She’ll be fine.»(just so you know, she WASN’T fine and developed a lot of problems later on but each time something pretty significant happened, Dr. Nader just discounted any possibility of «underlying condition» that made the child sick so often, which is one thing I kept asking about) So, if you’re the type who likes to be more reassured than getting all the facts laid out in plain view, or have a child who doesn’t have much of a medical issue(just sniffles and stuff), she will probably suffice, and you will be happy with her. However, if you’re like me, and want to know all the details good and bad, or be heard about my opinions and observations, or have a child that has some underlying medical issues where you have to be proactive about addressing them, she may not be the one for you.

Dr. Nader is the best pediatrician around. We have been with Dr. Sonia Nader for 11 years and both my children love her. She makes them very comfortable and engages with the children as well as parents. She always knows what is wrong with them the minute she walks in the room. Her diagnosis is always correct and her description of the illness or duration is always exact. I have always felt very comfortable with her as my Children’s doctor that I even drive 30 minutes to see her. As a new mom 11 years ago, it was such a treat to always have her confidence, knowledge and patience available to me. I would say that Dr. Sonia Nader is the best pediatrician around.
