Fantastic place, huge portions for reasonable price. The Hawaiian items and katsu are probably the tastiest, the Chinese food trays are decent, about the same as you would find elsewhere, though very large portions as well. My goto place for if I’m craving a lot of food.

Best restaurant near the Caltrain station for the value. Quick, inexpensive, and delicious.

The chicken katsu is great! I consider it to be J&J’s signature dish. I always get the mini size and skip the macaroni and just get the rice. The chicken is not too dry or greasy and is cooked well — it has just the right amount of tenderness. Their portions are generous and service is usually polite. I’m glad this place is close to where I live. Repeat customer here.

Service isn’t that great, but the food makes up for it. Cheap, delicious and lots of it. I stop by here when I’m in the area.

Good food. Good deal. Tofu is not non-GMO, so it’s probably GMO. Kind of a bummer. Hope they change it to noon GMO. Other than that it’s a good.

I’d ignore the Chinese steam trays and go straight for the Hawaiian eats. The spam musubi was the stand-out, and I’d happily go back for another sweet and sticky carb roll. Huge space to hang out and lay out your enormous boxes of food. As is traditional for any Hawaiian BBQ joint, you’ll have enough for lunch the next day.

I had the Chinese food today: chow fun, broccoli beef, and imperial chicken. Huge portion but it wasn’t tasty as I was hoping it would be. I should have stuck to my usual Hawaiian BBQ plate. That’s what I really enjoy the most.

Cheap big portions but gross and low quality. Only option near Caltrain. Maybe better than McDonalds?

Despite the huge portion and the food it self. The staff are rude and yes handling cash then back to serving customers. My overall experience is bad all around. I been here twice and today’s my last. After I been yelled at in Vietnamese. I will take my business some where else.

MUSUBI!!! The Spam musubi is fantastic, I crave it daily. Their food platters are also great, but WATCHOUT!!! HUGEPORTIONS. Do not even think of trying to eat a dinner plate by yourself, or you will be in pain. Cheap prices, great flavor, and fantastic musubi. The katsu is OK, but the spam is the best!

Not bad guys. Not bad For a eat-and-dash place, this place is actually decent. There are lots of options on the menu, the place is VERY clean, the space inside is huge, it’s literally right next to the Caltrain station, the price is cheap, and the food tastes pretty good! What more do you expect? There are a wide variety of options, such as various kinds of BBQ short ribs, a «food counter» where you can choose your own combo, loco moco, burgers, platters, and even noodles/soups. There are more options here than some sit-down non-fast-food places I’ve been to. The only downside is that if you order a menu item that is not already-made, like the noodles, or BBQ meat, you have to wait a LONG time. A few of the customers, including me, waited 30 min for the food to come, which is quite long for a non-sit-down place. If you’re in a hurry, make sure to choose the pre-made stuff, like the food on the heated counter. Not a bad place to visit, especially if you on the way on a caltrain!

Just ate here and regret it. I been here before and lately been paying attention to the hygiene of the staff. Today i observed both asian males serving food during my 10 minutes i stayed there. They both used the register and handled money and went back to served more customers without washing their hands. One of them wearing a white shirt touched his faced and nose as if he had allergies and continue handling food serving customers and swapping containers. The other asian male wearing red shirt went out to the dining area, pickup the trashcan and buzzed tables and then went back inside handling food without washing his hands. I managed a restaurant for 5 years and this is unacceptable. Im sure they didn’t pay attention to their food handler certification course

I hate to write such a negative review, but I almost feel obligated. The other day I went in to order food and as I was eyeing the food my friend pointed something out, a baby cock roach scurrying across the counter and under kun pow chicken food tray right in front of us. We left promptly after. J&j’s could use a good scrub.

This place is a Hawaiian/Chinese food restaurant. The Chinese food is sitting out like a buffet line, but the Hawaiian food is cooked to order. The service here is okay. Sometimes the cashier is rude has rushes me to order. I’ve never tried their Chinese food so I can’t comment on it, but their Hawaiian food is pretty good. I’ve order their chicken katsu, chicken BBQ musubi, and the BBQ chicken. Both are very good and their portions are huge! I really like their chicken katsu because it’s always crunchy and the sauce that comes with it is delicious! The BBQ chicken is the same that they put in the musubi. It’s pretty good but sometimes it has too much skin on it. Overall a pretty good Hawaiian/Chinese place for the price of their food. Their portions are big and I’ll definitely come back!

This place is really good! While eating i noticed that it was packed for lunch break, so it is a local go to place. They have a mini buffet line with variety which benefits people who are in a rush, but at the same time have orders and combos that might take some time. There is seating inside and out and is located near the Caltrain station The people are somewhat friendly but the food speaks for itself. I recommend to come here when your by the menlo park area you will not regret it! Also for the people who are wondering about the portion size here, you will get a lot of food for your buck.(the portions here are big!) this place is similar to L&L but has much more to offer!

Ran in to grab a quick bite. Right away I noticed this place wasn’t the cleanest. The lady who took my order was very rude. I went to wash my hands, the paper towel holder was broken and swung open hitting my hand in the process. No toilet seat covers. The woman who gave me my food was also extremely rude. Two stars for the food, it was ok.

I have not been to this place for awhile so I did not remember them having chinese food in the past. The way it is setup I did not know they served Hawaiian style plate lunches anymore, everyone just lines up at the chinese food counter. So as a result I ended up ordering that. Well turns out you can get the plate lunches, once you go around the counter they have a menu for those, which I would have been better off with. From eating here in the past I can say the Hawaiian food was decent. About on par with L&L, but the chinese food here is horrible. My wife shared a 2 item combo, the noodles and meat were all bland and not very good, even though it was pretty cheap I felt as if we wasted our money. So if you are going here stay away from the chinese food.
