Salad, entrees and very large desserts were DELICIOUS except for Minestrone that was thin and tasted of Oregano and a very small portion of the Sandab special. All other entrees were generous size. The Wait staff is aptly named. We waited and waited. Our waiter did not seem to want to listen to us and ignored request for another veg besides green beans. Diner request for no pepper was also ignored. Pacing of the meal was uneven and slow. Coffee arrived, but was half drunk before dessert arrived. At the end of the meal it took nearly 30 minutes for the check to arrive and payment to be made. Waiter seemed confused by the notion of dividing the bill 4 ways evenly on 4 credit cards. The owner seems to be saving money by understaffing. Arrived at 6:10 on Sunday and got table immediately.

Had a late lunch here last week after flying into SFO from Europe — there’s nothing better than having a nice, relaxing lunch to unwind from a 12 hour flight. I typically order the salmon pizza, but wanted to try something new, so I enjoyed a pepperoni pizza and an Insalata Di Ciya(Ciya Salad, named after the owner/manager, who is a truly lovely lady!) As always, the food was great and the service and atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with waiters who remember you and an owner who cares!

I am here now, I was the first of two customers… The second one came in and sat at the bar, as I waited patiently for whom I am assuming the owner to get off the phone… 5 minutes later she walks up after screaming acrossed the restaurant for some one to come. She asks how she can help me… Umm I’m hungry? She seats me… The server takes 5 minutes to get to me. I get a salad… The server never returns until 20 minutes later… I cash out… As I leave owner yells thanks… Thanks for the cruddy service and the lack of concern for the customer… 1 of 2 customers. Won’t be back

I’ve been coming here with my family for ages. Great food, really good service, really consistent. I LOVE coming here! Their specials are always amazing. Ask them to warm the bread up in the pizza oven before they bring it to the table and its the best bread you’ll ever have.

This place is incredible! Ate here for a business dinner, the food and service were outstanding!!! The namesake — Carpaccio was amazing and like none I’ve had elsewhere! Keep up the great work.

I really like this place. Has a great warm vibe. Very local clientele. Food is really solid(the tortelloni al prosciutto is absolutely delicious, and their Caesar salad is excellent). Service is phenomenal, particularly if you’re a regular like I am(Jose Luiz — you’re top notch).

Two of my coworkers wanted to go to this place for lunch. Even after working in Menlo Park for more than a year, I haven’t been there before more have I heard about it. Another colleague who didn’t want to come warned me about the mediocracy of this place. The restaurant itself is cute. It felt a bit to upscale for a lunch place, but that was just the first impression. As the name suggests I tried the Carpaccio which was good(not the best, but good). For my taste they throw a bit too much stuff on top of the meat. The pizza on the other hand was dry, hard and lacked of tastes aside from the garlic. I might go back for the carpaccio and to try their pasta. If I want Pizza is rather go to Amici’s

I’ve been coming here since high school… and still drive down from San Francisco for a great meal and great service. The owner herself is often the hostess, and many of the employees are related. Not many businesses look like Carpaccio anymore. Best of all, excellent Italian food! It can get quite noisy, but there are quieter spots toward the back.

Friday night and Carpaccio is poppin’ — make sure to make a reservation! I was joining my sister and our Uncle Fred to this lovely restaurant for a pre-holiday dinner. This place gives a classic, upscale Italian experience. Of course we started with fresh bread and oil with balsamic vinegar. We each had a glass of red wine in their lovely large wine glasses. Our waiter graciously split up the salads we ordered so we each had the same amount. We all happened to choose a dish off the specials menu but their regular menu looks delicious as well. I had the sausage lasagna which was huge so be ready to ask for a box! The only complaint I have is that our waiter forgot about us for 20 minutes after taking our dinner plates away. We were tucked away in a corner so we couldn’t really flag him down and we were quite ready for dessert. It’s a bit loud so I would try to get a table near the window or else you find yourself yelling for most of the dinner or pretending like you can hear the story being told by the person next to you. Overall, Carpaccio gave us the lovely Italian experience we so desired. Thank you!

I’ve been going to carpaccio for years and it is my favorite restaurant of all time. The oysters are absolutely delicious and I’m not one who likes seafood. However, carpaccio prepares them to perfection without fail.

Wow here’s the private Unilocal message I get from Aaron F(I assume from the restaurant): «we will survive without you». If Aaron really works for the restaurant, that’s a pathetic customer service attitude. Consistent with our experience at the restaurant — that they really don’t care about the customer. Owner should really pay attention.

Went here for diner to celebrate my son’s birthday — whereby my son specifically wanted steak — so checked their online menu( ) which advertised the«20oz bone-in rib-eye» steak($ 43). This was great since my son could have what the steak he wanted and the others in the family(incl. non-steak eaters and a vegetarian) could find something else on the Italian menu. Had a reservation for 7:15pm and were seated on time. Checked the menu, and they did not have the rib-eye on it. Instead they had a «16oz New York Strip»($ 43). [Btw note that there is no kids menu for the little ones and no flexibility to do half-orders either]. Service is S-L-O-W. It was not until 7:30pm that anyone even came to ask us for drinks! Then around 7:40pm the server came to take our order. As soon as we asked for the steak on the menu i.e. the NY Strip, he said that they did not have it and all they had was a T-bone. Additionally, he said that the T-bone was only 11oz… so when we naturally asked him how much it was(since it was significantly smaller than the advertised 20oz online or 16oz on the menu), and he said it was the SAMEPRICE($ 43)!!! 11oz steak for the same price as a 20oz steak? How do you rationalize that? Unbelievable. We ended up not ordering the steak — very disappointing — and just ordered some regular pasta, hoping it would come quickly. Food did not arrive until 8:35pm. That’s a full 1hr 20mins after we had come!!! One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had recently — definitely does not live up to the standard for a restaurant that charges 5-star prices but delivers 1-star service. Will not return or recommend.

Came here for lunch today with my coworkers. We made a reservation and got seated right away. I ordered the clam linguine with the white sauce. It was really good however I thought that the sauce was too heavy and a bit too oily for my taste buds. The seasoning that they used was perfect, the noodles were cooked to perfection, and the clams were fresh it was just simply the sauce was too oily — other than that it would’ve been perfect. On the other hand their salad looked amazing especially the one with in the Parmesan bowl. Two people in my group ordered this salad and raved about it. I will definitely come back to try this salad. The service was great, they were really attentive with our group.

I cannot recall eating at a restaurant with service this horrible. The servers made us feel like we were inconveniencing them every time we talked to them — whether we were requesting water or asking if they could do anything about the fruit fly swarms. I don’t know how this restaurant has been in business all these years. Decent food but bad experience overall.

typing this review as I sit waiting for my bill I’m fuming! One star is all this place is worth, we ordered the sausage pizza & the veal chop medium rare which is $ 35. The food came & my chop was medium well at best called the waiter over & he asked me «how’s the flavor on your chop?» I responded that the flavor is good but it’s super over cooked, he said he would mention to the kitchen staff & walked away? Really? He then left & literally never returned to our table until he brought the bill about 15 minutes later & the chop was on the bill!!! WHAT? How are you in business carpaccio, I hope

YOU’D BETTEROWN A TESLATOGETSOMEONE’S ATTENTIONHERE. Worst service EVER! STOPPEDBYTWICE and RECEIVEDTHESAMEEYEINGTREATMENT! WENEVERGOTSEATED… Stopped by this week around 6:30pm for dinner. All the waiters were hovering around the bar. Someone eyed us from the bar but no one came forward to greet us three. The restaurant was ¼ full but no one received us at the front. After standing there for a while like idiots, we left and went to Angelo Mio restaurant near by and was greeted warmly!

The best restaurant in menlo park. Probably the best Italian restaurant on the peninsula. Way better than left bank or LB steak, or madera. Food is great. Service is fantastic. It rivals Evvia, but obviously different in cuisine. My only complaints was when I ordered a Johnny walker double-black. I asked twice to make sure it was double black, not a double ORDER of black. I got the double order. Also, the carpaccio order itself is great, but the meat to toppings ratio is off. So much topping and not enough meat. Polenta was a little burned on the underside. These are complaints you really have to look for. Pasta was fantastic. Veal piccata was good too. They don’t shy away with the Parmesan cheese.

An intimate, classy Italian restaurant with beautiful Italian art-poster style oil paintings lining the walls. The atmosphere is pretty quiet, but it’s a nice place for a date night. Parking: Public parking lot across the street or street parking. Service: I had made a reservation but was running a little late, so I called the restaurant to let them know. They were very accommodating about this, and our table was ready for us as soon as we arrived. Our servers throughout the night were also quite pleasant! Food: — Bread — Olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping — Bombetta Di Parmigiano — Parmesan Soufflé served warm over baby spinach, arugula, and green beans in a champagne walnut oil vinaigrette. The soufflé was heavier than I had expected, but it was still tasty with just the right amount of cheese. It compliments the salad well! — Petrale Piccata — Sole sautéed with lemon, capers, and cream. Served with green beans and potatoes. They give large pieces of fish! The cream sauce had a wonderful lemon flavor and wasn’t too rich. — Cannelloni Stuffed with Crab, Shrimp, and Scallops in a Lobster Sauce — Special for the night. This dish was alright… nothing about it really stood out.

Located right near downtown Menlo Park, this restaurant is pretty awesome. The whole ambiance is quite pleasing with first rate service and properly arranged silverware. I like that! Made reservations for a surprise dinner.(Who doesn’t like surprises?) The tables are spaced far enough for having a nice dinner date. And at the same time, maintain the feeling of being in a restaurant. They do have their menu which includes a set courses for dinner. If you choose, you can pick your dishes ala carte. Their wine selection isn’t as extensive as I’ve seen at other restaurants, but keep in mind that the more choices you have, the more confused you’ll get. The dining crowd mainly consists of people who are in their mid to late 50s. Sophistication is the norm here. I look dapper in my work clothes and to my surprise, other diners complimented me on my vest. Little did they know, I dress like this everyday at work. Those who know me would agree! This restaurant is also a good choice for those who are trying to impress a date. Being that it’s an Italian restaurant, you’ll have some terrific pasta dishes to try. And no, we’re not talking about Spaghetti and meatballs here either. Their seafood specials are seasonal so don’t be surprised if a dish you ordered on one visit is not available on your next visit. It’s the nature of the business. This is isn’t Olive Garden. The décor is pleasant. The walls are adorned with tasteful paintings and dim lighting adds to the intimate atmosphere. It is quiet. People talk in low voice here. And the loudest noise you’ll hear is a cork popping of the wine bottle and some silverware clattering. You can hear conversations, yes. But it drowns out as white noise. I enjoyed my memorable dinner. And as I *continue* to make new memories; this review will serve — along with the rest of my reviews — as a reminder of the person I was, and I person I became with the passage of time. I. Love. Life!
