Excellent service, excellent framing. This is the only expert I would trust with the framing of my heirloom quality art.

Friendly staff makes great recommendations and completes work quickly. Work is tasteful and beautiful. I trust them to make all the right decisions. I just drop off the art and let them choose what to do and I’m always pleaded.

I went into Atherton Fine Art just before the holidays to inquire about restoration for a piece of art with a lot of sentimental value but not much else. I got honest feedback, which included a recommendation not to pursue restoration because it probably would not produce a significantly different result but still be costly. I appreciated the candid perspective and decided not to pursue the restoration. In spite of that, the folks at Atherton FA changed the existing backing(which was inappropriate for the maintence of the art) and resealed the frame, free of charge, so at least I would get more life out of the peice until I decided what to do next. As Menlo Park resident, I really appreciated them demonstrating why it is so important to have small businesses like this in our community. I look forward to my next visit for my next framing need which I expect to bring to Atherton Fine Art.

All way exceeds expectations. I had a piece of sumi-e style art and I needed custom size frame. The job was done faster than I expected, better than I expected, and the master showed knowlegable of ancient Japanese style, made a very good suggestion for the material, and then also did a few additional touches that fit the spirit of the artwork. The price is defintely expensive comparing to mass-production frames, but that applies to any custom hand-made framing. Based on what I researched, my price was quite modest, and the quality surprisingly high. This is true that you may have to wait quite a bit in line(if there are any customers that came in before you), because it’s a small shop. In fact, even waiting is enjoyable. The room has pleasant ambience, and some of the customers are artists, you may happen to have a pleasant small talk :)(I did)

I just had a painting restored through Atherton Fine Art. We also had it framed. The work done was really nothing short of incredible. The painting worked on was dark, dingy and damaged when it was brought in. I wasn’t sure that the restoration was going to do much, honestly, but the detail apparent after the cleaning and touch ups made all the difference in the world. The frame recommended was the one we picked and the final product is really going to be a showpiece for years to come. Mark knows his stuff and is really friendly and easy to work with.
