This little place packs a big sushi punch! When my friend and I arrived in Sun City, hungry and ready for some fresh sushi in the city, Hana Sushi seemed to be a great choice. Inside, Hana sushi isn’t much to look at. Regardless, the diverse menu and creative rolls certainly make up for it. My friend and I shared three rolls. They serve everything from small and simple rolls to large and very creative rolls. I always order the Hawaiian — its hands down my favorite roll(served with beautiful flowers). They also offer large boats for groups which is great if your rolling several people deep. The sushi is fresh and delicious every time. The service here has always been great for me, the staff is always moving very quickly and are super attentive. I like to think I am a pro with chopsticks but truth is I like to drop them — A LOT. And there is always a replacement pair in my hands within seconds. Depending on how hungry you are this place can get a bit pricey, just like every other sushi place in town, but its well worth it for the food and experience. *4/5 stars simply because of the price comparison to similar restaurants*

The ½ portions for the lunch special is so full filling. My friend got the Chicken Teriyaky Bento Box and it was huge! Awesome place for Lunch! I came at 1145 and people were rolling in! Rainbow Mochi Ice Cream for dessert! Plus the new chocolate flavor was freaking AMAZING!!!

What can I say… my review gives the food 5 stars, but 10 go to a server by the name of Handsome Nick. It’s been too many years since I’ve seen a server bust his arse, doing above and beyond his«job duties» to insure a fantastic customer experience. From bussing tables to the hostess desk, this guy does it all. This establishment should give this guy a raise and get him a management position for sure! Thank you for great service Nick!

Sushi SUCKS and is overpriced. Sometimes I hear the owner yelling in the back to the workers like a maniac.

I was never a sushi fan until I tried this place. They have nice happy hour deals. I tried dining in and take out both were incredible. Costumer service is a plus here. They are very attentive and I never have to wait a long time to be seated. My favorite so far are the tiger rolls and the popcorn lobster roll! I’m too chicken to try the raw stuff ;). We’ll be back soon!

I visited this location due to proximity to my home. I ordered a few rolls to go with a clear request for NO ginger. I am allergic, but love everything else. The waiter on the phone confirmed the order was to exclude ginger. I arrived earlier than the 30 minute wait he suggested to drink an iced tea and ensure my order was correct. At the 40 minute mark my order had to be remade due to ginger in the box. At the 55 minute mark my order was ready. No ginger was in the box and I was assured all the rolls were remade. I arrived home and ate one roll, no issues. The first bite of my second roll immediately caused a reaction. I smelled the rolls and immediately knew they DID not remake the rolls. The switched boxes. The ginger juice was all over the second and third roll. After Benadryl and sitting evaluating if I would need my Epi pen I knew I would never go back. I have been to every Hana Sushi restaurant within the 30 miles radius, and never had an issue with requesing no ginger. This is the worse place to eat. They could have killed me.

This is my «go-to» sushi place. The quality is consistent and the service is great. The sushi chefs always have a smile. I always get the lunch special(3 rolls for @18) and a volcano roll. Volcano roll is on fire! My favorite.

Ah, sushi. It seems to be the go-to cuisine for skydivers out looking for a decent meal. I’m always hesitant as some Japanese restaurants are very vegan friendly and some aren’t. On this particular night, I wasn’t incredibly hungry so I figured I’d find something and we all headed out to Menifee to go to Hana Sushi. This was a good-sized sushi restaurant with a rose-colored interior and yellow walls. This inviting atmosphere featured an open sushi bar with rose chairs, black tables, and wood floors. Traditional Japanaese artwork adorned the walls with orchids placed here and there. We requested to sit outside on this beautiful night. To my delight, there were tons of vegan options! But, before we get to that, sake, please! Okay, now on tot the food. We started with spicy and regular edamame. It hit the spot, but wasn’t anything particularly special. Next, we had the seaweed salad with cucumbers and sprouts, which was quite tasty. The mixed vegetable maki rolls were filled with lettuce, cucumber, sprouts, and avocado. They were really good. The avocado roll nigiri style was yummy. There was avocado inside and on top — you really can’t go wrong with that. My favorite though was the tofu avocado roll made with inari. The layers of tofu skins and avocado were the perfect complement. We also tried the tempura — broccoli, asparagus, onion, etc. I didn’t think the batter was very good. All in all, I was happy that there were so many options at a typical sushi restaurant. The service was very good and the atmosphere was fun. The only thing I didn’t like was how expensive the rolls were. Each dish was $ 6.50 — $ 12 each. Our meal ended up being nearly $ 90 including sake, which seemed pretty expensive. I’d come back only if I planned to order just a few rolls as the prices are particulary high.

This specific Hana sushi stood out to me because of those one particular Korean dish they have. It’s like Chirashi, but it has rice at the bottom. It’s really healthy and tastes absolutely amazing. Overall, the service is good, I’ve never had to wait for a table. And the sushi/rolls are pretty tasty as well. It’s also in a convenient location next to other dessert places like Whimsical and Starbucks. The prices are a bit expensive.

Went and grabbed sushi the other night looking for a place nearby. We ended up here because the reviews were good. We enjoyed a few different specialty rolls and delicious miso soup. The food was great. We had slight issues with the service but one of the servers was very helpful and noticed we were not receiving the best service. He kept up with us consistently once he realized we had been waiting for our food for a long time and that we needed water refills even though we were not his table or in his section. We will return for sure.

Update 2÷18÷16− went back last night and Jun and the team really took good care of me and my wife. I re-ordered the Salmon Kama and unagi sushi and they were perfect. So good in fact that I had to order another unagi(I get it crispy around the edges which is heavenly!). Jun the manager also went as far as taking my personal cell phone number to notify me when they have live shrimp, scallop and Uni! If that’s not going the extra step in customer service, I don’t know what is! Thanks for making it right guys! We are back to being regulars again. This an updated review(Jan 2016) which is rare for me to do. I will say that the food here is consistently good and seems to always be fresh. However, my issue isn’t with the food. We are really big on sushi so have come here on more than one occasion. Many times we’ve ordered a scallop sashimi and paid extra since it isn’t on the menu. Oddly the last time we came, we were told flat out NO even if we were willing to pay extra. When I mentioned to the sushi chef we had ordered this before without issue, I was told that they should have never accommodated me with my custom order in the first place and they would not be doing that for me this time. From a service perspective, there was a lack of consistency. On the next visit which prompted me to update this review, we ordered salmon Kama and we waited over 30 mins only to find out he forgot to input the order. I also ordered unagi«crispy» which I have often done and it came back completely burnt. Sushi chefs should try being a little more personable and at least smile or crack a joke every once in a while. They could be packing that sushi bar almost every night if they turned on the charm. My last visit had me thinking«guys, you can really do better than this :(»

We got out sushi to go and unfortunately it took a long time for 3 rolls and a seaweed salad. But the sushi and the salad didn’t disappoint me. Very yummy and filling. I loved their seaweed salad as well! I would have taken a picture of my meal but it was hard to take a good picture sitting in the backseat of a car with all my food on my lap lol! The restaurant was very clean and the waiter that took our order was nice as well. Plenty of parking too!

So good! I got a take out order that included fresh oysters; packed beautifully, briney and sweet. Freshly shucked! I also got the salmon kama, which is the collar. It’s my favorite dish there and you should try it. Juicy bites of grilled salmon and skin. Fatty… in the best way… think omega 3 fats. :) I also ordered salmon sushi and California rolls along with agedashi tofu. All fresh and delicious, as always. Customer service is always spot on and accommodating and they have never messed up my take out order! Did I just jinx myself? Haha ! Try it if you havent!

Pretty good service at the counter. In and out with great service. Favorite bite was the seared tuna topped with jalapeños and drizzled in a vinager dressing.

I thought long and hard before giving them the lowest rating. Despite their excellent food and good service during my two recent visits(once for dinner, another for lunch), the fact that TWO different employees basically told me on TWO different occasions that there are no substitutions. Poppycock, I say! Granted I haven’t eaten Japanese-style food in many years, so I am the first to admit that I am ignorant about the fact that many of the ingredients in question might be «standard» for this type of food, and now I know to call before dining. However, Hana definitely has the ingredients on hand to be veggie friendly, but it is clear to me that they have made a conscious choice to NOT accommodate, so I have made a conscious choice to never step foot in the business again and to be sure that everyone knows about this restaurant’s total disregard for customers’ dietary needs!(The old motto«The customer is always right» definitely does not apply to this establishment.) I happen to be a vegetarian. Nearly everything served at Hana, however, has some type of fish or meat in it, including their various sauces, so even items that appear to be vegetarian on their face(e.g., tofu appetizer, stir fry noodles/veggies, veggie tempura) really are not! The tofu appetizer is coated with fish flakes(something I believe can be left off, but they tell me it «won’t taste right,») and the sauce it comes with is said to be fish-based, another thing they refuse to substitute so that a vegetarian could otherwise enjoy the appetizer in question. The restaurant informs me the teriyaki sauce is chicken-based, so that sauce is out for vegetarians. Veggie tempura sounded pretty innocuous to me until I found out the regular(not spicy) tempura sauce served with it is fish-based. I was also informed the veggie stir fry noodles is cooked in a fish-based sauce. When I asked why they couldn’t make it with a different sauce, again I was told, «it won’t taste right.» Same for the veggie udon soup, which is fish-based. Two employees told me emphatically they could NOT modify the dish for vegetarians. The only sauces that I have confirmed are not fish– or meat-based are the citrus-based ponzu and the soy sauce that sits on the tables. One server suggested I «should try salad dressing» with my tempura next time, and I was thinking, as Lewis Black often says, «Are you f***ing kidding me?» Just a crying shame because the food is excellent and just a little modification for customers who don’t eat meat or fish isn’t too much to ask in this day and age. For a restaurant to flatly refuse to accommodate those customers(like many Thai, Asian, and other restaurants do) is simply not acceptable. Hopefully their management/owners will read this and get with the program for customers like me who are looking for good Japanese-style food without the animal ingredients. Until then, I will continue my search for a local veggie-friendly Japanese-type eatery.

Note: I love sushi. This was not my first experience with sushi. 1. When the waitress brought out the wasabi it had a rotten smell to it. 2. The sushi was on the warm side, warmer than room temperature. 3. A SMALLBLACKFLY came out of the inside of the sushi roll! Yes, it was the most disgusting thing. I had place my roll on its side so to dip it in the soy sauce and my mother in law and I noticed the fly crawl out of the sushi piece.
