Craft beer specific review: This place had a solid selection of high quality brews. They had all the oscar blues beers, bourbon county, a bunch of brewerij, and some other really notable beers on shelf. I get to travel for work so I have been to quite a few beer stores, and although this one isn’t I’m the top ten, it surely isn’t a bad one either. For a place where it seems craftbeers aren’t so easily accessible, this place will be your saving grace beer lovers. I’d give it 4 stars, but the service was very kind so I’m gunna give it 5 stars.

When I lived in east Memphis this used to be my favorite go to place for wine and liquors. Although the selection is more limited than some huge stores they tend to always have what I am looking for. On the occasion that I want to try something they don’t have the staff is knowledgeable about what to recommend based on my tastes. I go here mostly for wine and occasional party supplies. To me it seems it seems this store makes up for its lack of space by not carrying as many lower quality wines. I also wanted to point out that the décor here is more like a home or private cellar. The prices are about average with some items being a little more costly and some being a little less expensive.

This is a craft beer-specific review. There seems to be some commonality in most of the liquor stores in Memphis – a tiny shelf of «big beer,» most of it random Belgians, Brooklyns, and Unibroues well past their prime. In stark contrast to this standard predictable, threadbare option, Yorkshire liquors has a delightful little selection of high ABV beer, carefully curated to ensure an excellent mix of traditional standbys and some new blood. Like David T. points out, they tend to have some of the limited-quantity beers well after other places sell out. Right now, for instance, Bourbon County Stout is all over the place. There’s a good amount of Belgians and domestic options here, including a number of interesting new ones like the Schlafly Pumpkin Ale, Goose Island’s Belgians, and the New Belgium Lips of Faith. The selection isn’t the largest, but I haven’t yet seen an expired beer and there are very few duds among the groupings. They let you freely mix and match for 4 packs or 6 packs and the staff there has been very informative and helpful. Definitely the best spot east of Buster’s for Craft Beer and a bit more enjoyable to shop at.

Great selection of liquor and craft beer, both domestic and international. Staff will alway go out of their way to assist with selections… and help you get all safely transported to your vehicle(yeah, it’s party time at my house).

Although Joe’s is my overall go-to, Yorkshire is just a few minutes from home and thus gets a good bit of my beer-buying business as well. Although the big beer selection at Yorkshire is not extensive, it does include many better-known varieties; also, because it does not have the cache of, say, Joe’s or Buster’s among beer geeks, it tends to quietly keep on hand limited-quantity beers long after the larger stores have sold out of them. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, too.

Staff are friendly and I always get great customer service here, but as a small store, Yorkshire’s selection leaves a lot to be desired. Great for your basic liquors but if you’re looking for a bottle of wine there just aren’t many to choose from.
