Run do not walk from this place. Under construction and they start at 5 am. No carpets in parts of hall and rooms placing dust everywhere. The water has white flakes in it and the entire family woke up with a soar throat because of the desk. Front desk offered me $ 5 dollars credit. Baahhhaaaaaa. I told her to keep it

I like The Inn because of its safe, convenient location and room cleanliness. I stay here frequently. Ms. Florita and Ms. Erica and Mr. David and Ms. Amanda and Ms. Stacie are always so helpful on my stay. Only thing I can complain about is breakfast is gross(but free, the French toast sticks aren’t bad) and the hallways and lobbies are really dusty bc they are still constructing and the young man who works during the middle of the night is rude along with the young lady who is the evening clerk(think her name is Alexis). Every time I check in and she’s there it takes a long time. But at least all the staff I seen always seems to be vacuuming or cleaning somehow so they are trying to keep the place clean.

Very disappointed… we reserved a room here because they were offering a great price on a travel website. We got in around 9:15 pm from a 8 hour drive. When we got to the front desk the front desk girl told us they booked us a queen room instead of what we reserved which was two standard beds. We waited for around 15 min while she seemed to just be pressing buttons and saying over and over that it would just be one moment. After waiting she finally got us a room and gave us the key. When we got into the room they gave us only 2 towels for 3 people. The bath towels are so much smaller than normal size. They are the texture of cheap towels that don’t soak up water. When we looked in the shower there was a hair in the bottom of the tub. This was not a head hair I will tell you that much. At that point I found it pointless to complain. Over all even though we got a good deal for one night, this place seemed dirty and unkept.

We stayed at this hotel as a halfway stop on a business trip to the Tornado Summit in Oklahoma City. I didn’t book this room, one of my colleagues did, so I hadn’t done any research on the establishment before we arrived. Once there, the outside of the hotel seemed benign enough. It was obvious that is was a FORMER Hampton Inn and I assume recently changed ownership. The first sign that this was going to be a questionable experience was when the front doors were broken and you had to open and close the automatic doors manually. After we received our key cards, we made our way thru a side door and towards our room. We turned the corner to head to the elevators and was greeted by a roped off corridor on the first floor that led towards the back of the hotel. I resisted the urge to cross the line, that bared a striking resemblance to a police crime scene, and continued to the elevator. I first noticed the smell as we entered the elevator and just assumed that a guest had enjoyed some of natures funny grass before he decided he could get higher by going up a few floors. Maybe he just forgot to do his shirt laundry, I don’t know. Then we entered the room and were overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana to the point that I could have really enjoyed a bag of Funyuns. I will say that the room was fairly clean and I wasn’t concerned with any random stains or anything like that. I figured maybe the smell was just seeping in from an adjacent room and I would give it time to clear out. We left to find some food, tho I’m not sure if we were hungry or just wanted some Doritos Tacos, a few brownies, and some chocolate milk. After we exited our room we quickly realized that the entire hotel smelled of the crazy grass, so there was little use in asking to switch rooms. So we returned from dinner, or a munchies run, and emptied a bottle of Febreeze. I will say we all slept well but, at this point, I think it was a chemical contact induced sleep and had nothing to do with the comfort of the room. We packed up and headed out early the next morning after a memphis sleet storm so that we could beat the incoming Oklahoma snow storm that was set to greet us along our journey. As we rolled out of bed we realized the floor between the bed and the bathroom wall was completely soaked in what I hope was only water but there’s really no way to tell at this point. I must say the wacky weed smell had greatly subsided the next morning and the smell only lingered from an area near the front desk. Before we departed and against the advice of my hotel manager friend, we partook in the free continental breakfast. They were out of the frozen egg pucks when I scavenged through the microwaved sausage pucks for a few unburnt pieces that wouldn’t chip a tooth as I tried to eat them. They weren’t very good but I’m sure by that evening the smell would have gave me just enough urge to to gobble down about forty of these oddly textured bland sausage patties with the generic white bread they provided. The orangish water they served as if it was orange juice did make it quite difficult to wash down the un-chewable pieces of what I’m now thinking may have been an actual hockey puck. In closing, just say no to drugs kids and find somewhere else for your accommodations while visiting Memphis.

I live about two hours away from the Memphis airport, so if I have an early flight or need to give someone a ride then I prefer to stay overnight to avoid driving late at night or really early in the morning. Since I’m on a strict budget, I searched for a hotel that would provide me with some amenities but not cost a lot. I discovered this hotel via and was surprised at everything it offered for the price of only $ 53. The pictures of the room looked as if it were a 4 star hotel for 1 star prices. When I arrived on the property, it appears that The Inn at Thousand Oaks used to be a Hampton Inn. The remnants of their sign was still on the top of the hotel building, with only a small, vinyl banner hooked on the fence that clued visitors in to the fact that this hotel which looks abandoned with large dumpster looking crates was actually the hotel that you’ve reserved. From the looks of the outside, I started to fear that I was duped into booking this hotel from fake pictures; however, the inside was clean and appeared to be in good shape. When I got to the room, the pillows were feather, but not too fluffy. The fitness equipment seemed broken, yet I’m just really out of shape so it could have been the operator. The Wi-Fi also sucked! I just used my cell phone as a hot spot because the internet was taking forever. Also, if you want to stay here you have to use a credit/debit card. They do not accept cash for payment. Overall, I felt that for $ 53, it seemed like a good deal. For the comfort of everything I received and the cleanliness/newness of it all, I would definitely stay here again. However, if the prices ever got above $ 60 then I’d look for another hotel.

What can I say about this place… Well for starters my first impression of the location is a bunch of guys lounging in the front desk area. We get upstairs to our room and the key cards are almost impossible to use. You have to keep inserting them so that it could work. We head out to get something to eat and drink, come back to the room around midnight, change into our pjs and laid down. All of a sudden I start itching and bumps began to appear all over my body. I jump up and inspect the sheets. Sure enough I see about three mites crawling around the bed. I immediately grab my stuff and call the front desk. I took a video of the mite to show the clerk who seemed concerned. They were able to switch or room, however, again the key cards aren’t working. We work our way back to the front desk to let them know. They give me another key card for another room. This room looked a little more organized and had a fridge and microwave. The next day nobody says anything to us. We couldn’t watch tv since it wasn’t working, however they did tell us to turn off and on, which seemed to work. At check out we were billed and I explained to the front desk clerk how it is possible to dismiss 10 mite bites as if it didn’t happen. She said she would credit the bill but had to go through . This is something I would of never experienced. I don’t expect them to credit my bill but acknowledge that I was extremely inconvenienced. I will NEVER ever stay at this place. STAYATYOUROWNRISK!!!
