We didn’t stay here, but we did go into the hotel. Very nice and the ducks in the fountain are something to see. I believe they bring them down to lobby fountain about 11 – 5.

I LOVED the peabody before it all closed! Me and my husband even went their to hang out for our anniversary once. Last year I went to VS and that was the only place open besides the ice cream place. I recently went and the doors were locked and everything was shut down. I was hoping to run in VS but I was not able to. I miss the Peabody Place and I cannot believe it has closed completely. :(

CLOSED. I can’t believe they built this huge thing in the middle of downtown and no one ever came here to set up shop. Everything from our last trip is gone and the doors are locked.

The Belz family took all the money and tax breaks for this development and proceeded to run it into the ground like an Air Trans flight into the Everglades. Forget it. There is no sign of it left.

Is it closed? Is it open? I have no idea, but it appears to be almost dead. There is so much potential for the space, it jsut kill me to see it wasted everytime I walk by.

Totally empty/desolate. The only thing of interest here is if you need to use restroom.

Peabody Place was a great idea, but apparently the downtown market just cannot sustain a large shopping mall. I used to walk down during my lunch hour for a slice of pizza and a trip to Gap, Ann Taylor Loft or Hot Topic. I’ve bowled there, seen movies, played glow in the dark putt putt, and enjoyed many a night at Dan McGuinness and Jillian’s. No more(wiping tears from my eyes). Maggie Moo’s is still there, and although I love their ice cream, it makes me sad to walk through the ghost town of what once was a fairly vibrant mall. Victoria’s Secret still has some great sales, but even that is not worth the trouble. I don’t know what the plans are for Peabody Place, but I have a feeling the future is not so bright.

Poor Peabody Place! I have to imagine at some time this was quite a fun shopping mall. It’s colorful and the layout is fun and somewhat fancy. I could imagine how wonderful it would have been to live that much closer to a shopping center. There is seriously not much in the way of shopping downtown. The only shops open in Peabody Place at this time are Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream, Victoria’s Secret, Lily & Coco and a candy store. Sometimes there are vendors in the middle selling Elvis souvenirs on traveling carts– but otherwise it is empty. Almost Dawn of the Dead, really. I’ve heard whisperings of the Peabody turning this into more hotel rooms and restaurants. That would be a good idea, let’s not leave this space empty for much longer. It is seriously such a waste!

At one time this was a great retail center in downtown. It has such potential but no longer has many stores left. There is a Victoria Secret, Maggie Moos ice cream. It looks great from the outside and has a great location but it is not worth a trip downtown. If you are staying downtown travel down Poplar Ave. to Oak Court Mall if you are looking for a mall.

I agree with the previous reviewer — not worth the trip as there is nothing in this«mall».

REALLYSAD! When this place opened, it was crammed with people and businesses. Now there are three maybe four stores opened inside. The stores like The Gap, Dan McGuinness’ Pub, Jillian’s, Issac Hayes, Starbucks, and the Movieco Theater have all closed(among others). As of this review, I think there is a chocolate store inside, an ice cream shop, an Elvis t-shirt and cheap sunglasses kiosk, and a Victoria’s Secret still open. That is pretty much it! The owner, Belz, should just shut it down completely, and try to revive it with something exciting for tourists.
