Last night was my second night eating the Gourmade’s fare, both times when they were set up outside of Wiseacre Brewery. Last night, they were out of Mac n Cheese, which sort of interrupted my Gourmade style. See, I was a fan of that Mac N Cheese, which they serve on all manner of sandwiches and fries(because everybody knows you need MORE carbs with Mac n Cheese). The lady taking orders is really friendly and happy to give suggestions, and patient when you’re embarassed by the riches of choice. I think you basically can’t go wrong here, but be aware when you walk up to the truck that you’re not going to find anything particularly«light» or «healthy.» My husband waxed poetic over the burger last night, and I was also happy with my salmon sandwich, which was not at all sketchy despite being seafood from a food truck. YUMYUMYUMYUM!!!

I’ve been stalking Gourmade since i stumbled upon their Instagram feed one morning in church. You know the pictures had to be amazing to make me say«oh shit» in the middle of service. Got some side eye from the usher, but Jesus knows what was up, so i think I’m ok. Now lemme tell you what kind of food elicits a Jesus-approved oh shit snafu: braised beef and shiitake mushroom pappardelle pasta; pan seared gnocchi with chicken in brown butter sage sauce; a garlic melt(a patty melt made with garlic bread); and chicken and kale zuppa toscana. Initially, I just assumed that any food truck that was slinging together combos that one has to be fluent in French to decipher had to be tasty based on general principle. But now I am a believer. The truck can be found outside of Wiseacre pretty often, and when I saw it, I knew i had to have it. I ordered the Appetite for Destruction based on the zealous endorsement from the woman taking my order(good news: they take credit cards. She was spot on. Shoestring fries are the lettuce for this fatman salad, and it’s topped with mac and cheese, pulled pork, and BBQ sauce. I’m honestly salivating just thinking about. Follow them on Instagram or Twitter for their whereabouts. I’ll just be hiding behind the propane tank ready to pounce on some of those bomb burgers coming out of the kitchen.

Oh man! Definitely one of the best things I ate this weekend. The Gourmade truck was over at Wiseacre for their Octoberfest party so we went to give it a try. MACANDCHEESESANDWICHES??? Why have I never thought of that?! What was even more mind-blowingly amazing was the pulled pork that was thrown in — yes, grilled pulled pork mac and cheese sandwich. It is as delicious as it is ludicrous sounding. I will definitely be coming back to have a go at their other offerings.
