Cute little coffee shop in a very walkable, trendy neighborhood. The coffee is good and the staff is friendly.

Nice quick stop to get something in our bellies. Nice fresh bagels. Hubby had egg sandwich, took a little while to get but he devoured it. My son had a Nutella pop tart, liked so much he had another.

Memphis… WAKEUP! You’ve got one of the best coffee houses I’ve ever enjoyed. The barista’s know what they’re doing, great coffee. A huge plus, the bakery… the offerings are homemade and the selection is very good. The service was quite personal, they made me feel like they really wanted my business, instead of making me feel like a customer that makes their job more difficult. I stop by whenever I get to Memphis.

Stopped in while on a walk with a friend because we wanted to ruin our dinner appetite with pastries. We are both downtowners but have never visited this coffee shop so we thought it’d be worthwhile to check it out. I got an apple fritter and my friend got some type of pastry with Nutella filling and almonds on top. I didn’t realize it until after we left the coffee shop, but we stopped in about 8 minutes before closing. The employee didn’t rush us at all and even offered to warm our pastries in the microwave. Both pastries were delicious! Having them heated was very nice. I also noticed that this coffee shop has free wifi and various loaves of baked bread for sale. And they have dairy free options for coffee/tea! Customer service was great– friendly demeanor and no rushing– and delicious pastries. I’ll be back!

We went to get coffee after visiting the River Arts Festival to warm up, it was cold and rainy that day. The coffee was comforting and the wait staff was very attentive. The restrooms were in bad shape… the worker informed us that their facilities had been the main ones used that day. Nice to have a coffee shop downtown where you can take time out to rest and warm up.

i like bluff city coffee. they have free wifi(make sure to ask for a password!), they’re very #localeats vibe, and they have a ton of pastries to choose from! they even have food there. I’ve never tried anything but their coffee /drinks but the pastries LOOK good. a small(12 oz) there is around $ 3.95 — $ 4. they have instagram contests all the time where you can take cool pics of the coffee you get from them in a cool place and they’ll pick a winner for a gift card! sometimes they might be cash only, so be prepared for that. i’ve had to pay in both card and cash there before. good location, plenty of parking on the side streets!

NO Brewed Coffee Here! (Translation: Each cup is crafted coffee-awesomeness!) I’ve been a patron for many years(at least 6.) I’ve seen different owners & many different baristas. What is consistent: *Excellent Americanos(Expresso & Water) *Variety of pastries and breads *Free wifi *Comfy seating *Very friendly Baristas who know your name & engage in good conversation *Selection of sandwiches, bagels, etc. What could improve: *Inconsistent drinks(e.g. Mochas) *Speed during peak times Parking is typically not a problem when I visit mid-morning or lunch. Must Try: My «go-to» is their Sausage, Egg & Cheese on Croissant! It is worth the price! The sausage(on most days) is thick & premium flavor & the croissant is a MESSOFFLAKYGOODNESS! It maybe difficult to choose a pastry –so many choices! The homemade Pop-Tarts are a solid pick … Or maybe the Danishes … No –try the yogurt rolls … Or the muffins … Or perhaps the

My favorite coffee shop downtown! Service is always friendly and I have yet to try something I don’t like. I usually order an iced coffee and a pastry. Their pastries are delicious! They have outdoor seating too, which is a plus.

I’ve dropped by this little coffee shop on South Main a few times. It’s grown on me and I like it a lot. I have had some of the pastries, but I’m there for their coffee. The coffee drinks are good. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They don’t rush you out, which is nice, so you can relax, enjoy your coffee, work on your laptop(free wifi), read, etc. I thought the place was clean and well kept. There’s some interesting décor inside, as well. I always judge a coffee shop by how well they take care of the milk and sugar section. I think they do a fine job here.

I really do not like this place at all. I work on South Main very close to it and am forced to go there if I forget my lunch or breakfast, or need a place outside of the office for client meetings. The staff is awful. They always seem high and/or lazy. And, the worst part is that the owner is often sitting at a table in the back working — I don’t understand how he does not realize this!!! I never get pastries because I have seen one too many flies in the pastry box. So. Gross. Also, they do not know how to make a decent cup of tea. I know it’s a coffee place, but they don’t know how to properly steep tea like other local coffee shops will do. Also, if you want iced green tea, they put the tea bag in hot water for maybe 10 seconds, then fill the cup with ice… NO. Not how it is supposed to be done at all. I don’t really love regular coffee, but I do love specialty drinks — anywhere but Bluff City Coffee. I’ve not had a Café Americano or Latte or frozen coffee that I like here. Honestly, I could get past most of the taste issues if the staff was better! I get very frustrated when I go in there because they are so slow and seem not to care about the customer’s time. Sometimes I drive inconveniently all the way to Starbucks on Second Street if I have to time in stead of having to deal with the people at BCC which is a good 1 minute walk from my office. Lastly, they stop serving the three gluten free options on the menu — cookies, granola bar and frittata. BUT they still have it listed on their menu as an item. So annoying. Sorry this is just a negative review, but you have to understand this does not stem from just one visit. It stems from 40+ visits over the past three years. I’ve tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it very frustrating to even walk in there.

Love this cute coffee shop! Also it’s Downtown right on Main Street so can’t get better than that. They have my favorite drink here, Dirty Chai. Folks at other shops always look at me funny when I ask for a shot of expresso in my chai, but Bluff City has it on the menu, it’s amazing, and makes me happy! It’s hard to resist all the fun treats as well. The chocolate chip scone is delicious and perfect. Prices are comparable to other places, but the drinks and goodies are definitely more unique. Plus you’re supporting a local business!

Bluff City Coffee is great. There is plenty of indoor seating, and they have outdoor seating, which is great here in Memphis where the weather if typically warm. They have a long menu of coffees, and they have plenty of signature items, as well. Their pastries and bagels are excellent, but make sure to get there early for the best selection. If you’re not a coffee aficionado, they’re also more than happy to translate your normal Starbucks order into something they have, and it will probably be much better quality. Love it!

Was going to knock down to 4 stars because I wasn’t greeted when walking in but the owner who took my order well made up for it my graciously warming up my homemade chocolate chip cookie :) yaya! Needed my morning Americano after leaving the arcade for breakfast so I Unilocaled to find my closest option and this was it! Nice shop with a lot of seating — cases filled to the brim with homemade breads, cookies and pastries! The owner said he has a bakery down the street and makes goods for a lot of restaurants and hotels. I wanted to know more but there was a line behind me. Coffee and cookie great — and can’t wait to eat the caramel brownie I got to go!

Great addition to the trendy South Main corridor. Free wifi, reasonable prices, enough seating, good service. Drip coffee was a quality dark toast, without any bitterness. The chai was in the American style of sweet with a little cinnamon flavor and very mellow.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon. One person working there to take orders, get/make food, make drinks etc. 24 min to get a latte. Seriously. Everyone waiting for drinks was annoyed. I received a «compliment» from what appears to be the owner that I just deleted(I had options to accept or delete). It said«given the cameras and customer numbers question the extreme wait.» Seriously? What would be my motivation to make that up? It was bad enough that my dad came in from the car thinking we had gone somewhere else. Had the owner actually checked the cameras or customer numbers he would have confirmed not questioned what I said. Ick — sorry but owners comments cause me to change review from a 2 to a 1 star.

The atmosphere is warm and the staff is friendly. I love the Chai and the homemade poptart! The chicken salad and the chocolate chip cookies are great too. This is a great place to meet a friend or do some work. Plus it’s location is prime for people watching on the weekends. However, the last few times I have been, the coffee or espresso just isn’t that great…

Quant little coffee shop. Offers plenty of choices for coffee. A breakfast menu is available but I was unable to try it this morning. I got the caramel mochicchino. It’s decent tasting. A bit too milky for me. Not too sweet but no caramel drizzle. I paid over $ 4 for a medium size. There are fresh made breads such as banana loaf and coffee cakes! I was not wanting a pastry today but maybe next time I’ll get a pastry instead.
