I grew up in Melbourne, FL and was back for the holidays looking for a source of sushi-grade raw fish when I stumbled onto this place. First off, the sheer quantity and variety of meat and fish they carry is astounding. I wish I still lived nearby so I could come back and try some of the seafood I never had a source for before. Second, the owner and staff are nice and efficient. I came in here around 11am on Christmas Day, arguably one of the worst times to be shopping for food besides Thanksgiving, and, while the place was packed, I was in and out in less than 15 – 20 minutes. I hadn’t even called ahead with my order which would have made the wait even shorter. This place is all around impressive. TIP: They only take cash so bring some with you or make sure you have a debit/ATM card as they do have an ATM inside that you can use.

We’ve been going here for fresh seafood for the past couple years. Tried a few other places and couldn’t find anything as fresh as here. I feel the prices are competitive for the seafood market. Haven’t tried their non seafood items. My husband is an excellent fisherman but when the fish aren’t biting, we go here. Great customer service, mom & pop feel, owner knows the regulars names etc…

This has been my go-to place for fresh fish or shellfish. Everything they have is written on the wall with their costs and updated continually. Everything I’ve ever gotten has been fresh and perfect — you just can’t go wrong here. You can go in the back and watch them clean the fish and cut your selection and pack it. Bring your cooler and cash!

First time in there was enough for me to know I found a gem. Bought some haddock and fixed it for dinner. Was excellent. They have all kinds of different fish and also beef and pork, chicken, duck and the list goes on. Best place I have been in for seafood. Already figuring what to cook next.

Keep going back for more and everything is as good as the last. Look forward to every visit. Next time we’re doing oysters at home for the first time. They’ll show you how to shuck ‘em and have all the tools. Weekend fun!

I love our local Seafood Atlantic for almost all our seafood purchases, but it’s’ closed on Mondays. So when I had a hankering for some mahi on the grill, I remembered ‘that place across from Home Depot.’ Great selection, all the fish looked fresh. I even added in a pound of Key West Pinks… our favorite shrimp. The prices were about the same as Seafood Atlantic, some higher, some lower. The service was great, lots of people to help, cleanly dressed and fast. So, if we’re in the area and need fish, we’ll get it here. Free ice for your fish too… Seafood Atlantic charges for theirs. Nothing like spending $ 30 on fish and then being charged 25 cents for a bag of ice! We love you S.A., but come-on! Have not eaten here yet, just bought fish to take home and grill.

I’ve been buying fresh fish, crates of oysters, and meats here since Pete owned the place. They are our local wholesaler and Direst Seafood has been an institution for generations. It’s always hairy when a local institution changes hands. We lost our best bakery that way a long time ago. Plenty of us were pretty nervous when Pete sold. The change over was rocky at times, but this is certainly one of the success stories. Direct Seafood is consistently the best, most diversified seafood source in the area and they also have very good meats. I was in there a few weeks ago being a pain about which oysters to buy for a party. 230# boxes of Florida Premiums at $ 19/each or the 50# box Louisiana Primes for $ 35. Florida premiums it was. Perfect food size. Tiny oysters are for people who don’t like oysters. We worked out when the truck would come in, and we got a couple of boxes of oysters that had been picked the day before our beach party. We shucked and ate every one and they may have been the best, freshest oysters I ever had. They’re kind of tucked away a block west of US #1 south of Eau Gallie Blvd. They are the rare Florida seafood market that you can’t find by smell.

Quite simply the best seafood and beef outlet in Brevard County, hands down. I have enjoyed shrimp, filet and grouper so far, but of course will be trying everything eventually. Friends and I cooked the fish and meat on a grill, served with a selection of Australian wines; everyone felt like we were eating five star food. And we were. Direct Seafood Outler supplies the quality restaurants and specialty shops such as The Green Turtle around these parts.
