Been meaning to try Dominic’s. We ordered pork sandwiches which were generously filled with hot, juicy pork and provolone. The fries with gravy were good but the brown gravy seemed too thick & salty. Will certainly return to sample other items on the menu.

Delicious roast beef sandwich and glass of Pinot Grigio. If you like extra sharp provolone or even if you are open to trying it or you enjoy sharp provolone or even provolone– GETTHESANDWICHWOTHEXTRASHARPPROVOLONE!!! It’s delicious and you won’t regret. Some couple got us all free drinks(apparently they give free drinks out when they come here because we did not know them and the bartender confirmed we didn’t know them and that they just but free drinks). Anyways delicious food. The cheese is perfection. And the bartender(who has an uncanny resemblance to a Breaking Bad character — if you have seen the show go check it out) was very nice. Since I believe in 20% tip minimum I put another $ 10 tip down(slyly) on top of the $ 14 left for the $ 77 dollar check — for multiple beers, one glass of wine, sodas and 6 roast beef sandwiches — 4 with extra sharp provolone cheese. Try it on a weeknight(Monday) between 8pm and 9 pm — that’s when I went and service and food was quick and exceptional … And I was in a bad, pissed off mood so that says a lot :)

I had high hopes for this local spot but was disappointed. The atmosphere was dull, an employee was smoking just outside the front door(off-putting), the food took far longer to prepare than was expected and the pork was lackluster. Stars for friendliness!

Dominic’s has a «Cheers» atmosphere, very friendly people, and when they have entertainment, it is enjoyable. Everything I have ordered has been very good, especially the mussels, roast beef and roast pork sandwhiches. Prices are good. Tony D.

I was excited to try a new place for hot roast beef and pork sandwiches and expected a good experience based on other Unilocal reviews. I was not impressed. The place has a bar area and a separate dining area that is tastefully decorated in a pub style. The bar stools were packed on this Thursday night with a college football game on the telly. The TVs were muted as there was live music and singing by a not so good guitar soloist. This was pretty loud, even in the next room. The menu is limited to a few soups, salads, and sandwiches plus many appetizers or bar snacks. The bar menu is on the plastic napkin holder that is small so you have to tip it to read it. We ordered a Stella, served nice and cold in a frosty mug, but it tasted more like Bud. We ordered the clams($ 11). Twelve nice sized baked clams on the half shell came out 25 mins later with garlic and parsley in a muffin tin(!?) with two greasy toast rounds. They weren’t particularly flavorful and a couple were sandy and had some bits of shell. We also ordered a hot roast beef and a hot roast pork with sharp provolone($ 1.75 extra) and broccoli rabe. Another 25 mins later, out they came, cold not hot, in brown gravy with the cheese on the side. One could barely tell the difference between the two. One hour and 15 minutes later, we got the check. Service was soooooooo slooooooow even though there were people at only three other tables in the dining area. Very disappointing.

Their Tuesday special of mussels in red sauce was outstanding and my dining partner raved about the luncheon roast beef.

Roast beef with mild provolone and broccoli rabe. Perfection! One of many good meals Ive had here over the years. Great beer selection. Nice wines. Meals and libations are reasonably priced. Its also a nice place for a woman to dine or grab a beer without feeling uncomfortable. Tip: Try the Birch Beer. It’s really good.

PART2 of the bang-bang, See«Ariano» for PART1. Dominic’s roast beef, where have you been all my life? I frequent the Old State Tavern from time to time but never noticed that this place was literally a stones throw away. It is unbelievably easy to miss but they have a great parking lot in the back to make up for it. Upon entering this mysterious establishment, we could hear Frank Sinatra blaring inside before even opening the door. I am fan of the hits from ol’ blue eyes but they must have had the volume cranked up to 11. I felt like there was a live band in the room with us and my friend and we literally had to yell to communicate with each other. It just didn’t seem appropriate for 2 P.M. on a Saturday afternoon. Another negative that is not food related was the temperature inside. The bartender looked like he just ran a marathon and I shortly started to feel the same way after about 15 minutes of sitting at the bar. Turn the air up! So onto the food. I ordered their classic roast beef with no cheese and an order of their fried raviolis. It took a little longer than I would expect for our food to come out but it was well worth the wait. The roast beef was absolutely exceptional. It was such a refreshing change from the usual Nick’s roast beef and dare I say they make a sandwich just as good if not better than Nicks. The thing I love most about this sandwich is that they use some real, hearty gravy. It has so much flavor and the meat was as tender as it looked. The fried raviolis were good, nothing I would write home about though. All in all our experience was pretty good. Aside from the heat and the blaring noise, I would like to say that I enjoyed myself. I will certainly be back to have another sandwich, most likely when it cools down outside a little bit.

Crab Night… What a joke! We were looking forward to an all you could eat crab night all summer, so much for the excitement. I have been in the restaurant business for over 15 years and this was by far my worst dining experience EVER. The crabs were over cooked mush, not only were they terrible after picking thru the mess of 2 plates we were told, sorry there are no more crabs… We will be happy to take $ 6 off your check. Was this joke… After speaking with the waitress we were told that was all she was allowed to do. Than spoke with the manager and the only thing worse than the crabs was his arrogance and who gives a damn attitude. The entire experience was AWFUL… Don’t waste your money!!!

Had a nice experience there last night. I had pork sandwich and wife had roast beef. We shared steak fries. Everything was hot and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were very reasonable. Will be going back and will tell friends about it. The only thing we would add would be more sides such as Cole slaw, potato/macaroni salads, and such.

This was an excellent BEEFivore experience and that was exactly what I was looking for. I blew in here for lunch after an aborted jury duty experience. My first impression was IMMACULATE. This place was spotless! In the men’s bathroom I swear you could eat off the floor. I didn’t check the ladies room as I didn’t want to deal with the yelling and screaming that would ensue. A place this clean is a good thing. The ATMOSPHERE here is pure classic pub. Lots of beautifully finished dark wood and slightly dim lighting. The bar is very nice with about 15 seats and a few high-tops near it. I loved it. I ordered Beef Barley soup($ 6) and a Roast Beef sandwich($ 6.50). I added sharp provolone for $.75. My soup was hearty and delicious and served at the correct temperature so I could enjoy it right away. I hate it when the soup is so hot you just have to stare at it and wait for it to cool. If you are a roast beef sandwich aficionado there are two things that might surprise you here. First, this sandwich is served with rich brown gravy not au jus. Second, if you pay your $.75 for sharp provolone, and you should, it’s served on the side. I don’t know if you can tell from my pic but that was a lot of cheese. Way more than you would normally get on a sandwich. BTW– This was one delicious sandwich! These folks are coming up on their one year anniversary. I hope they stick around. I’ll help out by coming back for sure.

I was expecting something more like Nick’s and this definitely isn’t it. It was like cafeteria food in a poor hospital. Never again.

Hot Roast Beef sandwiches are a Philly staple. Just look at the number of Nick’s Roast Beef spots that are here — the Old Original in South Philly and Springfield and the regular Nicks in Northeast Philly and Old City. WIP’s hunt for the best sandwich in town three years ago picked the South Philly version as second best to a Chicken sandwich that won the people’s vote by getting young women in hot pants to get the men to stuff the ballot box. To me, Tommy DiNics south philly style roast beef with cheese is the best version you will find here in this area or maybe anywhere, however, sometimes you crave the version with brown gravy on a good roll. Today was one of those days. I was tipped off about this spot by Chef Ritchie of Frankie’s who told me Dominic’s is one of his favorites. I tried to eat there yesterday but the place was closed for Mothers Day. NOWHERE on social media was this mentioned and there was not even a sign placed on their door they were closed despite it appearing on Unilocal they would be there. I wasn’t happy I wasted my time driving there for nothing. Point deducted. I wanted to satisfy this roast beef craving so I headed to State Road in Media. The bartender was great. I ordered a Stella that tasted fresh but could have been colder. Kudos for the frosted mug though. Ordered the roast beef, Gravy on the side and their homemade onion rings with petal sauce. The roast beef was delicious but it was not hot. Lukewarm maybe. Needs to be served hotter. Nice Lisco roll. The hard sharp provolone was excellent — you get a slice of it to put on yourself. The onion rings were great as was the sauce. Liked the service and layout of the place. I will be back.

Fantastic Roast Beef and Pork sandwiches! They recently introduced All You Can Eat Snow Crab Claws on Wednesday. The sharp provolone on the side with the roast beef is the way to go for me. Don’t miss Amy and Herbie behind the taps on the weekend plus live music Friday and Saturday(Joe Stafferi and Ron Feldman are the regulars). Yes, I really enjoy visiting Dominics! Check it out!

Great atmosphere and bartenders– It’s nice to have a relaxed neighborhood bar with live music. Good beer selection and the food is surprisingly good. Try the baked clams, shrimp cocktail and pork sandwiches.

Yummy! The last place I thought I would ever enjoy is a roast beef joint(mainly because I HATE soggy bread) however this place is great. Parking is limited but there is a nice dining area inside the restaurant separate from the bar. The food items I have had: baked clams, french fries with gravy, and the ham sandwich. Figures I can’t give an opinion on the roast beef sandwich, however I am a big fan of their beef gravy. The baked clams are great: not too heavy on the breading and a very nice wine/butter sauce on them to compliment. I know the gravy well because the french fries and gravy are amazing! Nice thick cut fries with an exceptional amount of gravy on top. The gravy comes right from the roast beef pot with even bits of the meat in the gravy. If they had the right curdled cheese on top I would think this was the best poutine I ever had. Easy appetizer to share with 3 – 4 people. So far I have had the ham sandwich twice and I think I will have a difficult time to switch. The ham is delicious with the right amount of sweetness. The rolls are nice and thick but not too difficult to bit into. Holds up for the gravies very well. Always get the added provolone on the side. There is NONEED to get it put on the sandwich and melted. That type of good cheese is meant to be placed on later to get full taste.

Dominic’s is the best and I want them to cater my next party. They have amazing tasting, just greasy enough, pork/beef/ham sandwiches. Get any of the three with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. I’ve tried them all and I can’t decide which is my favorite! High quality ingredients and fresh big portions. The price is fair and the service is great! Park out front or in the back, they have a full bar or seating area, sit down and order from a server, credit cards ok, children ok, casual attire. Highly suggest Dominic’s if you’re in the area and want to eat. I highly recommend Dominic’s in Media and I think all Susan(the other reviewer) does is complain, check her account, I’m serious.

The hot roast beef was only room temperature and they gave us a piece of sharp provolone on the side. We sent it back to have it warmed and the cheese melted. Apparently they opened the sandwich, put the cheese on it and sent it back out still cold and unmelted cheese. It was over 10.00 for this sandwich on a small kaiser roll. I could get this poor quality for a lot less at a Wawa! Also they charged $ 7.00 for a small glass of zinfadel. The service was less than acceptable. We will not go back and I do not recommend Dominic’s in Media.
