Low marks for the organization but higher marks for the quality of the pool. The pool itself is very nice but it’s very difficult to figure out when they’re open, how to get a family pass, and last year we jump through many many hoops to get IDs for everyone which they never checked.

Tufts Pool is really a community pool in the Tufts area, possible there is some business connection with Tufts and the city of Medford. I could not find a pool website, so most details come from paper then handed me. Cost: Passes can be purchase at limited times, call to find out when. Passes are in expensive $ 25 for Medford resident, $ 50 nonresident, and some family packages. Very reasonable.(for 2011) Lesson: They give lesson in the morning, check for details. Hours: In 2011 their are three types of hours: 1 – 4 Open swim, 7 days a week 4 – 5 Adults swim, 7 days a week 5 – 8 Family swim, weekdays I’m not sure what Family swim means. I think I have only attended Open Swim hours. Pools: There is a small pool for kids, a medium size pool and a small area connected to the medium pool for diving. There are no lanes. Rest rooms: Connect. The men’s room is good, better then many I’ve been in. Clean. Storage for stuff. If you want a lock, bring your own. My limited experience is with the Open Swim. As an adult I had no problem with it, but if you goal is to do laps, it not that type of pool. I like that some families were there. Also several 10 – 17 yearolds without adult supervision. There are lifeguards full time. The pool closes 10 minutes every hour to give the guards a break. Overall the pool is great for a family or kids. Its ok for individuals looking to swim.
