I wish they took more control over the high school and middle school kids that we’re there. They always tun around screaming and the employees just stand and watch them. The food was so-so. Not the best.

I love me some Papa Gino’s but this place is a disaster. The wait is almost always ridiculous, which I could handle IF the staff wasn’t fighting with each other and being super tacky 90% of the time. It seems like they couldn’t find jobs elsewhere so they’re working at PG, even though they hate it… a lot! The food is usually ooookay, but never as good as it should be. What a shame, but good for my waist line I suppose :)

Laura, the manager, needs a better attitude. Not a good idea to have smoking area in back where people park, while you are on your phone complaining.

We ordered a large cheese pizza online. I went to pick it up, the wait wasn’t that bad, maybe five minutes in line. I got home, and there was no cheese on the pizza. No seriously… Who orders a cheese pizza without cheese? So it was just crust and pizza sauce.

We had a catering delivery for approximately 200 people today at work. We were celebrating the Superbowl win! Our pizzas not only arrived on time(we had three different times for delivery) they were hot and delicious. The manager was so nice and accomodating of all of our needs. All the employees seemed to have enjoyed it… we did not have one complaint! Thank you to the manager and his staff for making our Superbowl party a success.

Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t hate on Papa Gino’s. I spent too many childhood moments here. my brother and I always begging to go. I always order online and have it delivered. I know they take a little longer then some places so I just order midday and set a delivery time, and they are always on the mark. The sauce is zesty, the cheese is generous and the crust is the right type of crispy. If you are feeling a little hungrier, get the«Rustic Italian» pizza, it’s square cut and has parmesan cheese baked into the crust.

This review is focused on the service I received as opposed to the food which there was no problem with and if I was focusing on just the pizza I’d give it 4 stars as it was exactly what I expect hot, great balance of sauce and Cheese as well as an evenly cooked crust. I ordered 2 xtra large pizzas on a Sunday afternoon by phone. I spoke with an employee who quoted me a delivery time of 1 hour or a pickup time of 25 minutes. My friends and I decided to pickup our pizza as we were hungry. We arrived at papa Gino’s 25 minutes after our order was placed and was told it would be another 2 minutes. 5 minutes later it was still in the oven… While waiting I couldn’t help but notice the keys to the men’s bathroom which was attached to a cake spatula sitting on the counter… The same counter they serve food on… After waiting almost 15 minutes I finally get my food(40 mins after I ordered it). The kid behind the counter mumbled a sorry for the wait… As I began to express that I was unhappy with the wait the worker turned his back and walked away. I stated this was not ok and he asked if I wanted to talk to the manager who was in the kitchen watching this interaction. I said yes and continued to wait. As I was waiting I could see the manager on duty through the window and she did all she could to avoid looking at me. Finally the shift leader(about 3 mins) Jefferson came and his solution was to give my account a $ 20 credit and merely shrug when I pointed out the bathroom key on the counter and how unsanitary it was… Needless to say I have no intentions of returning to this location and I will spread the word of poor service to all I know… Papa Gino’s needs to learn a lesson in setting realistic expectations with its customers or it will continue to lose customers like me.

A frequent visitor to Medford to pick up amazing Japanese goodness at Ebisu, this Papa Gino’s location has become our usual lunch/bathroom stop before driving home. The dining area is a little small but consistently kept clean. Among my numerous pitstops the bathroom has never been dirty or unkept. The food quality is always on key with the usual Papa Gino’s standard. Fresh, amazing pizza and crispy french fries: hell yeah! As for the service, despite the previous poor Unilocal reviews, I’ve never had to wait more than five minutes for our orders. Actually, I don’t recall ever having more than one person ahead of me. BUT. Typically we stop by between 12−2pm on a weekday or Sunday so I can’t vouch for evening or take-out orders. See ‘ya soon Papa!

Taste’s like Papa John’s only worse. I probably should of read the Unilocal reviews before we ordered but you live in learn. Any other pizza place in the area would be a better choice.

This location doesn’t deliver to our house in Somerville(even though we are less than a mile from the store), but every time we do an order for pick-up — we’ve been satisfied. I love using the website to place the order and pay, which makes picking up the order even easier. The longest we’ve waited for a pick-up order was maybe 10 minutes and that was only one out of the countless times we’ve ordered from this location. The pizza is always piping hot and the appetizers are great to eat in the car on the way home. ;) There is limited parking in Medford Square so I recommend bringing a buddy with you to pick up your order so you don’t have to try and fight for parking.

Whether I get delivery or I go to this location the service is incredibly slow compared to other Papa Gino locations.

I live in Malden and usually get Papa Ginos every Thursday at my local store in Malden. They aren’t perfect, but they are pretty good most of the time. On March 17th, I was going to a party in Somerville and figured I’d buy from a Papa Ginos a little closer to there, so the pizzas would be warmer when I arrived to my destination. That was my first mistake. I arrived a little earlier than when I requested the pizzas to be ready and they were already sitting in the warmer. No big deal I thought. When I was finally able to pay for them after standing in line(behind a lady who was sooo indecisive) at least 7 – 8 minutes, I jumped in my car and went on my way. It took me all of 8 minutes to get to Somerville and I immediately opened the boxes of pizza to delve out some slices. Do you know how you just know the pizza is not going to be good by just looking at it? Looking at these pizzas, I just knew they were not going to be good. The pizzas almost looked like small pizzas, with a large amount of room between the edge of the boxes and the pizza crust and they were ALL(3 pies total) very overcooked. The pizzas weren’t completely cut, so I had to use a pizza cutter of my mom’s. I had such a hard time cutting through the crust, it was way overcooked and just gross. I apologized to the crowd for the quality of the pizza, since I had raved in advance about bringing pizza from Papa Gino’s. Being disgusted, I called Papa Gino’s and asked to speak to the Manager to complain. I was on hold for 9 minutes(I timed them) and finally when I was able to get a manager on the phone(A female with an odd name that I should have written down), we seemed like she could care less and half-ass apologized. She didn’t take any info or offer anything to make up for her store’s shortcomings. I spoke to my cousin later that night who lives about ¼ mile up the street from this store and he said the pizza is ALWAYS like that from that Medford Square store and the reason why he drives to Malden instead when he wants Papa Ginos pizza. I told him I wish I knew and can promise that I will NEVER return to this store by choice.

One star for the delicious cheesy yummies. Minus four for the terrible service and slow delivery. Whether in store or being delivered, the service is fine, but not pleasant, they’ve forgotten items on two occasions, and once never brought it… I did go into the store and waited 25 min. for a slice of cheese and was told 5−10min max. While the pizza is delicious, it is so frustrating with the long wait and SLOW service it doesn’t make up for the food. I suggest another location, even if you have to drive.

Came here because we wanted a pizza lunch by the slice & we weren’t sure Regina’s sold individual slices. Word to the wise — don’t come here too hungry, because it was an hour-long experience(which is fine for a sit-down restaurant, but this is supposed to be relatively fast food…). $ 13 for 3 slices of cheese, a small breadstick, and water, so price-wise, not too bad. We waited about 15 minutes and then got 2 of the 3 slices. They definitely looked reheated, not cooked fresh. We reminded the guy about the third slice, and a few minutes later he brought over two more slices and explained that he thought the slices were on the small side, so he gave us an extra(brownie points!). He apologized about the breadsticks, but it still took another 10+ minutes to get them. The food was consistent with Papa Gino’s standards, but the wait time was crazy. The staff did their best, but if I had to choose, I’d probably go elsewhere in Medford.

Ugh, I wish I could give this place –5 stars. I actually used to like Papa Gino’s as a kid. So, tonight I suggested to my fiancé that we order a pie from here. He tried to tell me not to, but alas, I didn’t listen. I ordered a plain cheese and a liter of coke at 6 pm. The girl that took my order told me 45 minutes. About 50 minutes goes by — no pizza. No biggie, I’m patient. Another 20 minutes goes by. Finally, I call to see what is going on and the little snot(yep, not so patient any more) on the other line tells me its one its way, click. ANOTHER20 minutes. I’m really hungry, and I don’t think my pizza is going to be quite as appetizing as it was when it came out of the oven 1 hour ago when it gets here, if ever. Finally I call to cancel. Little snot cancels the order,(we shall see). 15 minutes later our door bell rings. Really? Whatever. I get the pizza — and lo and behold there is no liter of coke, even though it is right there on my receipt. WHATEVER. The pizza is sub-par to say the least. Papa Gino’s you had a good customer in me(and potentially my fiancé, if the pizza actually came hot).and now you have two very bitter customers who will never order from you again. Not in medford square, not anywhere.

Why do I love Papa Gino’s so damn much? Because they have never change a thing. This particular one is a total throw-back to my childhood. The tables are fake picnic tablecloth print. Perfect for kids who want to play checkers while waiting for their meal. They don’t have the old table-side jukeboxes anymore but there’s a CLAW machine so you can waste your laundry quarters in an attempt to win crappy stuffed animals. The food. Like I said. It’s the same as when I was a little girl. I always get a large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, well done. And it always tastes exactly the same. Perfect. The kids working here are super friendly and polite. There’s tons of parking in Medford Square making dine-in or take-out easy. After dinner, stop in at Modern Pastry just around the block.
