Went there today for the very first, and last time. It was early before the dinner rush and other than a small birthday party we were the only ones there. So we would’ve expected more attentive service. The waiter(and I use the term loosely) Took our order without a pad and while something told me to speak up I decided to trust him, because our order was fairly simple. Steak and baked potato veal Marsala and eggplant Parmesan. Whatever sauce they used wasn’t Marsala The eggplant Parmesan was still frozen in the middle making me wonder if they bought it from stouffers. And my medium rare steak with a baked potato became a well done steak with mashed potatoes. It was only the second time I’ve ever been tempted not to tip my server. Bad service, low quality food, and higher than diner prices. For that much money I would’ve rather gone to Olive Garden,

My husband and I have been driving by this place for awhile and wanting to stop in — so last night(my birthday!) I was in the mood for Italian and we finally made it in. It was a Wednesday night and they were quite busy with a party in the back room, but the front of the restaurant wasn’t busy and we were seated immediately. Started off with the calamari appetizer and it was spongy — really spongy… definitely not fried enough. Our server didn’t bring bread, so we asked for it and were presented with 3 tiny little pieces of bread about the size of a plum(see pic) and a small container of what looked like cheese spread(it was the color of Kraft Singles) — but it wasn’t cheese — I’m honestly not sure what it was as it had absolutely no taste. I even tried tasting that spread by itself and still couldn’t taste a thing. For dinner I ordered the Pesce Papardelle(seafood w/pasta) and hubby ordered a chicken dish. My plate was almost tasty, except the sauce… that sauce was cooked with either beef or pork… it had a definite«meat» flavor to it… which did NOT pair well with the seafood(albeit skimpy 2 shrimp, 2 scallops and a little crabmeat) mixed into the dish. My husband’s chicken was just awful. It looked like two small chicken tenders that were pounded thin and then topped with dry parmesan cheese. They did give him a small 2 oz. cup of sauce for dipping. We also found it strange that our dinners came with a side salad which we ate before getting our dinner plate but then my husband’s dinner was served with more salad as a side-dish on the plate. Skimpy portions/no leftovers and high prices for really awful food. Awesome(said no one ever). This place was a big birthday bummer. Note to self: Don’t try a new restaurant on your birthday; and don’t come back to La Piccola Cucina Italiana.
