The portion sizes are huge and they package take-out so that it stays warm and does not get smashed(as weird as that sounds, some places just jam your food in without care). Have only eaten in-house once but have take out many times and you really get your moneys worth!

I took a friend here last week. I forgot it was a BYOB. I heard they have a liquor store near if you wanna grab a bottle to go with your food. We didn’t; we both got the seafood trio a by on the fat side but was good. They kept checking on us inwhich was nice but a bit annoying. Lol I like the food and the service was good too. I’m from Philly & she is from the area. We’ll be back again.

My wife and I ordered from here once a week for at least a year. Last few months place is going downhill. Last few experiences were bad enough for us to say, we aren’t ever going back. It’s A shame I loved this place, and the old counter guy was great… he’s not their anymore… sad to see a once great place go this way. Hope they can turn it around but seems to be getting worse and worse.

From what I hear the owners of this restaurant, also own a few other restaurants in the area. I went here with a friend and had a chicken pasta dish that was so good I wanted to cry when I got full. I had a very friendly waiter who was very attentive and polite. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve had ever !!

I cannot believe I haven’t reviewed this place before. My boyfriend and I eat here at lease once every other month and it is a definite favorite. First, it is BYOB, which is already a win. Second, the portions are huge, so we have automatic leftovers. Third, you get bruschetta and garlic bread that was drizzled with olive oil and garlic.(Note: I am allergic to tomatoes, and when requested they will put it on a different plate for me so that I can enjoy the other bread… which by the way is addictive!) We have never been disappointed by a meal here. The seating is a little close, but we tend to avoid it on the weekends. On weekdays, it is never rushed, they treat you like family and it is overall a great meal. I personally recommend the eggplant ravioli! Food for days and tastes great re-heated! This is a local place we will continue to patronize!

Parades as «Fine Italian Dining.» Family went here today, and I had a strange feeling I’d been there many years before(before Unilocal*or personal computers even, kids!), but wasn’t sure. Everyone said it was very good, so I went with it. We took two cars, and as soon as I saw the sign, I realized it was the place I’d had a crappy meal years ago. Hey, years can make a huge difference, so I went with it. Chris was our waiter. Had immediate work for him, as our table was so sticky that my shirt was attempting to mate with it. Took him a while to return, and as I soon found out, this was his M.O. Would disappear for eons, or appear again to speak with regulars, his XXL frame blocking passage of wait staff and potential diners alike, but never glanced at his other active tables. OK, the food. Special($ 28.00) crab cakes with ravioli. Cakes OK, but absolutely swimming in blush cream sauce, drowning any flavor that may have been there. Looked like soup. One diner wished for the 3-mushroom risotto to be w/o cream sauce. Chris suggested, from outer space, I’d assume, tomato sauce. The non-gourmet diner accepted, and pronounced it «OK». One of the more bizarre things I’ve seen masquerading as Italian food. I was in interested in gnocchi. Asked if it was made in-house, but found it was made by a good local company, Severino. Went with it. What came back was overcooked, with a gum-like texture, and a half-pound of mozzarella on it. The side of broccoli rabe I ordered had a good taste, looked good, but the mouth feel… well, I like olive oil, but I do not like to drink the stuff. There was no choice with this mess. Sent the gnocchi back, left the rabe where it died, and sat through the rest of the meal with my guts happy I was not going to require an emetic to relieve myself of that load of plated garbage. Scungilli E Calamari Alla Marinara was off. Meaning bait-quality. Sent back with a chicken dish substituted. An embarrassment. Melanzane Al Parmigiana(eggplant) was breaded bread. Then fried. Carnival food, not found in a real restaurant. Dinner salads and bread were not even worth mention, let alone eating. Reaffirms the fact that most diners will give any place an «excellent» rating as long as they don’t have to do any of the cooking. The current Medford crowd fits this to a «T», as witnessed by the plethora of 5* ratings. Better food, for a lot less money, in a pizza parlor. And most of them suck, too. But they aren’t billing themselves a a classy, authentic dining experience.

Love this place. Never had a bad meal here. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu and they have some awesome specials. The Braciole is off the hook. It’s a BYOB so bring a nice bottle or two and enjoy. If you like chicken parm, ask them to make it with penne in the vodka sauce. You’re welcome!

Excellent food. The meal comes with Italian bread and garlic bread provided. The appetizers are all sensational, especially the monzerella. You can’t get a bad dish here, and the portions are massive. Expect to take a lot of food home. Service is very prompt and the atmosphere is nice. Bring your own wine, beer, etc.

Meh! The pros — portion sizes are HUGE! You get a second meal automatically with left overs. The cons — Parking and ‘elbow room’. This restaurant is not spacious enough on a busy night. I was also less than impressed with the kitchen service. Half our table had to wait with their food getting cold while waiting for the others to receive their food. The meh — the food. For the uninformed, probably will pass as decent Italian. For those who know, big disappointment. With half a plate left, I refused to take home the left overs. Wasn’t worth eating again. Probably will not repeat unless I am forced through an invite.

So so so yummy! Let me start off by saying that I’ve been living in Medford for over 15 years. I’ve passed this little restaurant BILLIONS of times but I went there for the first time last weekend with my parents and brother. First off, we didn’t order any appetizers but on the house they came out with bruschetta and bread that was drizzled with olive oil and garlic. One word — DELICIOUS. Secondly, my brother and I got a little too excited and ordered 4 different entrees which we realized was a little too much when we saw how big the plates were — Eggplant Parm, Vegetable Lasagna, Penne Vodka, and the 4th dish was something with Mushroom in it. Which by the way came with salad with 3 homemade dressing. The food was phenomenal, and we packed a little less than half of each of the 4 plates to take home. Never going to Olive Garden ever again!

Our family has only dined in the restaurant a handful of times and the service has always been great(& as others have indicated, portions=huge). –BYOB –nice round tables to accommodate large parties Mainly, we have gotten take-out. I am sure that their other food is delightful, but for the most part, I order the rigatoni bolognese. It is just SO good – densely packed, slow-simmered with carrots & celery, flavorful(not overtly, «meat-y» tasting).

You go here, you’re treated like family. We always have Josephine. She is awesome. The menu is large, there is so much to try. I’ve made it a point not to have the same thing twice in order to try everything on the menu. They always have half dozen specials. Yesterday there was the seafood manicotti. I was told it was very yummy. My lasagna was really good. This is authentic Italian prepared food. Can’t wait to go back.

The food is awesome the portions are gigantic. The service is horrible we had a waiter with an attitude a little guy who gave me the biggest attitude. We asked to sit in a booth and were told it was reserved it sat empty the entire meal. When i asked him why we could have not sat there his reply was to bad! Unfortunately we ate there plenty of times. THEYIOSTMYBUSINESS. The customer is always right.

Came here with my family on a Monday evening and we were seated right away, though only a half hour later it was quite crowded. Nice to see crowds on a Monday for dinner! Their portions are HUGE. Be prepared to take home leftovers and eat them over the next few days! I ordered the eggplant parmigiana which was flavorful but my only complaint would be that they needed to bread and fry the eggplant a bit before baking. It was a little on the soggy side and I like my eggplant with a bit of a crunch. We all enjoyed our food and the service was excellent!

I haven’t been here in years and accepted my parents invite for our Friday Lenten dinner tonight. I highly recommend making reservations(which we didn’t) so you don’t have to wait long for a table. The complimentary bruschetta & garlic knots were perfect. Your entrée comes with a nice salad & fantastic homemade dressing. I ordered the Mussels & Shrimp Fra Diavalo. It was a portion that could have fed 3 people. The only reason I can’t give the place 5 stars is because my mussels were all sandy. I ate 5& all were full of sand and gave up, and just ate the shrimp & pasta. My parents ordered Shrimp Fra Diavolo and a specialty Pizza. They both loved their meals. We all left with doggy bags. The service was excellent. It occurred to us, after hearing the other tables around us talk(the place is small and tables are too close together), that they all request her as their server and I understand why. She was like a rockstar with her own following! She was so busy but always had a smile on her face and gave us excellent service. I felt sorry for the hostess who appeared overwhelmed by the crowd waiting for tables who were rude to her(God forbid a Medfordite doesn’t get the red carpet rolled out for them). They were of the obnoxious mindset that if they harassed her and constantly looked over her shoulder to stare at list it would magically make an empty table appear. I loathe those kind of people. The desserts all looked amazing but we were too full to order any. I do recommend going here for a good Italian meal. Just steer clear of the mussels. Be sure to make a reservation & another bonus it is BYOB.

Nice Italian restaurant. They have a Huge private parking lot. Reservation recommended if it’s more than 6 people. Restaurant has a huge dining area. Decoration is simple and neat. I was somewhat surprised this big size Italian restaurant is BYOB. I saw a crowded line to for take out orders. We waited for 5mins to get table a for two. It was Saturday dinner around 6pm. Our server was very friendly and nice. Served us free garlic knots and bruschetta. We ordered pumpkin soup, scallop bisque, lasagna and pumpkin feast. Scallop bisque was very delicious as well as pumpkin soup. Pumpkin feast was seafoods and tortellini filled inside of big pumpkin. But more than anything else, their portion was huge. Pumpkin feast was as big as my head, lasagna was a big portion too. Our meal was delicious and We had a satisfying dinner. The only down side was the free salad. It did not look fresh at all. We just nibbled a bit, that was all. The pumpkin feast was a bit disappointing. Because pumpkin itself wasn’t warm(They just used it for plate), and tortellini and sauce were bit bland. For that reason I want to give this restaurant 4.5 stars. If I pass this area again, I’ll definitely go back.

So tonight was our annual«squad dinner» and we — 6 guys and our 6 wives — celebrated a great year. I brought everyone to Femmina. Needless to say everyone left well fed and completely satisfied. Anthony and Franco did a tremendous job with all of our food. Laura and the servers were at the top of their game. The hot and cold appetizers were meals in themselves. No complaints from any if my party. From 2 to 22 people — everyone is given the same top notch service!

A sure fire hit for big eaters with an Italian appetite, I came to Filomena’s with my boyfriend and his parents for his Dad’s birthday dinner. We chose to eat very early and were the only table seated aside from a 20 person dinner party. Needless to say, service was great! When ordering here remember that there will be plenty of bread varieties provided. Large soft rolls hot from the oven arrived first. Next just after we’d placed an appetizer order, a plate of oversized garlic knot style rolls and bruschetta appeared. As appetizers we had potato croquettes and fried calamari. The croquettes amount to mashed potato balls battered and fried to a crispy outer shell. If that’s your kind of thing, order them here. The calamari was generous and not oily, though I wish the batter had a touch more of its own seasoning. Dinner entrees come with a side salad, which really could have been the end of a hugely sufficient meal. Shrimp fra diavlo, gnocchi, chicken Marsala, and chicken a la princesa appeared in platter sized plates. The gnocchi is hearty and tastes like something out of Nona’s kitchen on a cold winter day. My Princesa dish of chicken wrapped in prosciutto, eggplant and mozzarella cheese with a lighter lemon sauce was wonderful. Chicken dishes come with a side of pasta, but I asked for double order of veggies which were my highlight. Mixed broccoli, carrots, potato, asparagus and peppers sautéed in garlic and oil… what could be better?! The ambiance is friendly and casual. I’ve done one other birthday dinner here with friends and both times our group was treated well and served promptly. I’d keep this in mind anytime you want to have some good Italian, with leftovers.

molto buona! Authentic Italian food with superb service and inviting environment. I’ve been here a few times now, small parties and a large get together and I’m never disappointed. Food is delicious, comes in huge portions. Pasta primavera is possibly one of my favorite pasta dishes. Chicken parm is amazing. Also tried their coconut grouper, you MUST get this otherwise you are missing out! The staff is amazing. Extremely friendly and makes great suggestions. Very attentive and personable. It’s a great spot for get togethers or a date. Love love love loveeeee it!
