We came for the berries. They have the BEST berries in town and the cheapest. We got blueberries and strawberries. Farmer John really knows how to grow stuff! The biggest berries I have ever seen. We sometimes get treats there too. The staff is friendly — especially the polite young man with long hair who made us our tasty Strawberry short cake. He makes a great mocha too. We will be back.

Customer service should be a high priority. I think they need some training on this. The woman behind the counter wouldn’t even acknowledge us. She sat there with a grumpy face staring at her phone. We had been wanting to try the advertised shakes but as we changed our mind after the way the customer service was. We left and went to a different farmer’s stand. Seriously, when so many of the reviews are talking about the customer service being garbage maybe the business might want to look at that and change it so they could get customers back.

I loved going to Farmer John’s for years, but the past two seasons the younger girls that work there are not friendly or are always having a bad day. I loved taking my kids to Farmer Johns too, but I rather go to Bernard’s now. Need better customer service!

This is a farm store for fresh produce and some canned jellies and jams. They also have ice cream. On the good side there is a lot of fresh stuff. On the bad side, the variety is not expansive. They also didn’t have any honey, despite having a big display about honey bees. I thought that was strange and the employees were clueless about just about everything, including the availability of honey. So this is a place you can stop in, see what they have, but that’s it. Don’t spend more than 10 minutes here.

Businesses have bad days and if I give a one star, they have to do something really bad. Basic mistakes and simple poor customer service is understandable these days. However, what happened at Johns is wrong. The manager at Johns refused to allow a woman to use the bathroom. She was begging him to use their bathroom and then started crying because he said through a staff member that no she could not. She was told she could use the one out in the field and she looked out there and told them she could not walk that far in her pain levels and might not make it and the one inside was right there just 3 ft away. He said only the employees could use that one and the field hands. I could not believe he would not allow her to use it since she was holding her stomach in pain and saying her bladder was really hurting and begging. The staff seemed very sorry for her. The manager did not. Many people were watching. I felt so bad. I left my grocerys and drove down to Barnards Market. I will not go there and give him any of my business for treating someone that way. Barnards had a portopotty that was right there and when I told Barnards they said they would not have done that and even though their selection is smaller, the management truly cares and that won my business. We just moved there and Johns lost a customer for life.

Nice fruit stand. Was able to find what we wanted to make dinner plans around. Got a smoothie and some road snacks. Very helpful counter help.

It looks like, at some time in the past, this place was built as the retail front-end to the farmland it sits on/near. There are skeletons of greenhouses built on undergrown stretches of garden. Other small garden plots are turned as though waiting for planting — even though it’s too late to plant most things. Signs say, shakes, smoothies, and shortcake — as well as the produce and nursery goods. Fruit and veggie selection was quite limited, and did not appear to have any relation to the farmland that surrounds; and the little ice cream counter in the back was also the checkout counter for the main shop. It was mid afternoon on a weekday, so business was slow and thin — only one person manning the whole stand.(We’ve driven by on the weekends when there were many cars in the lot.) There are a few odd jars of jar/canned fruits and veggies, and a few nicely colorful hanging baskets — a pleasant place to stop, with a barn-market feel. Husband got a scoop of one of their 8 flavors of ice cream and was happy. The place is clean, and a nice addition to the drive on Hwy 99 — but probably not a place we will stop often. A 3-star rating is sub-titled, A-OK. The barn structure of the stand is probably worth another ½ star, just for its appropriate atmosphere and cuteness to this stretch of highway. If I had little kids with me – we’d be stopping every time.

Best & sweetest blueberries I’ve ever eaten are from Farmer John’s. raspberries were great too. Easy access from the main road & friendly, helpful staff.
