This was our first visit to McMinnville, OR. We found Chrysalis on Unilocal. The name has changed to FLAGANDWIRE. Same owner and coffee roaster. Cute space in a large industrial building. They share the building with a brew pub and have their coffee roasting equipment in another part of the building. Great espresso drinks and the have pastries from a local bakery. Great find!

I went to this coffee bar for the first time today. I like the atmosphere. The people were friendly. I had an iced chai latte which was tasty and nice. I would definitely bring others to this coffee house!

Delicious, knowledgable, crafted with care, quality coffee roasters! The best around. I just took home the Nicaraguan single origin. Yumm. A must stop for true coffee lovers.

Great well made and roasted coffee. Not your typical country coffee shop, but a welcomed addition to the quaint McMinnville downtown. Cold brew iced coffee highly recommended. support local roasters!

We spent, i dunno … about three hours here this morning, and we weren’t working/staring at a laptop/loitering. OK, maybe we loitered a little, but it’s hard to leave Chrysalis. The coffee itself is superb, five stars for coffee, but it is so much more. The ambiance was intentionally created to mesh customer space and server space. Suddenly, you realize you’re behind the counter. Suddenly, Nick is sitting next to you to ring up your order on his iPad. Suddenly, Nick and a groups of customers/friends is gathered around the community table. This is exactly the coffee shop I would have if I were creating my own and could somehow be as wonderful as Nick the owner. He sat down with us for a good portion of the morning, chatting about his upbringing, how he came to open this shop, his family, Portland … he is a treasure, and he is lucky to have himself! We could have talked to him all day. I had a pour over, and my husband had an Italiano. Both very good. Around hour two, then decided we would go for another round of coffee, this time he had pour over and I had a mocha, sweet and smooth. We felt obliged to leave at lunch time, but lucky for us we got tired around 2 p.m. YAY! More Chrysalis! Sure, we looked like stalkers, but we didn’t care. Husband had a double espresso, I asked for a surprise and got a Woodsman, a cap with maple, not too sweet and certainly not bitter. This is a treasure in McMinnville, and you need to go the extra ¼ mile off third to enjoy it.

If you’re an avid espresso fan, this is the place to go in McMinnville. The roaster is the owner and he knows his beans. Great Americano with a choice of single origins. It’s in the Granary District of McMinnville so it’s a little off the main 3rd street area, but totally worth the trip.

Great coffee and nice people. Had the brunch(sat + sun until noon) prepared outside on a grill by Mr Meat(I don’t think this is his real name) the kindly butcher next door and it was very delicious. I give it Pfeff stars and will definitely be back.

Great espresso and coffee beans at this coffee shop! They do fair trade, single origin, micro batch kind of roasting. I’ve been buying the beans from Mud River Roasting at the McMinnville farmer’s market for years, and now they have this coffee shop in the Grainary District in Mac, yay! If you’re a coffee aficionado, you should definitely stop by. Great service, the owner will recommend a bean you’ll like, he makes it easy and is super nice and laid back to boot. There are pastries as well, I haven’t tried them yet but they look great.

I love these guys. They are a conscious business that cares about their product from bean to your cup. Great espresso(from Mud River Roasters), great service and awesome atmosphere! Plus I like supporting a local business so it’s even better if you’re a buy local freak like me. :)
