My heart is broken… The Endo Sushi owners sold the McLean location to a new owner… it is now called Taka Sushi. I haven’t tried it yet. The décor is the same and it seems like some of the same staff is there, but I haven’t looked at the menu to see if it’s changed. Knock on wood!

It was the best in McLean, but it has now changed hands and it’s name. Endo is closed. It is now Tama. Only the décor remains, the staff is nice, but the fantastic sushi is gone from McLean. Sad, very sad.

4.5 stars my family has been coming here for a few years now, after being turned onto it by our native Japanese cousin. it’s our favorite place for sushi in the area. the waitresses are friendly and accommodating, the sushi chefs are meticulous, the dining area is spacious and clean. i find the portion sizes to be large and we almost always have some left over to take home. my 2 and 4 year old typically split a nabeyaki udon and an order of shrimp tempura appetizer — my normally picky girls devour their meals, including the soup and salad! my husband usually gets chirashi, and is always commenting how fresh it tastes. during our most recent visit, i ordered the dinner box, which i thought was a tad on the expensive side. once i saw how much food was included, though, it was totally worth it. highly recommend this place!

My 10-year old son is a huge fan of sushi and since he won 1st place in his Tae-Kwon-Do competition yesterday, he asked if we could go to a sushi restaurant near us. Having previously had bad to mediocre experiences with local sushi restaurants(we live in Falls Church), we thought we would try a little further out — and I happened on the Unilocal reviews for Endo. We were not disappointed at all. The fish was very fresh and the portions were large. We each got the sushi and sashimi combination and could barely finish them after eating the salad and soup. Next time, I will simply order the sushi and sashimi ala carte and save myself a little money. The service was superb and the waitress we had was very friendly. All-in-all a very positive experience and I will definitely come back soon.

Great sushi! I came here to entertain some clients and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushi. One of my clients(who is Japanese) was surprised by the freshness of the sashimi – particularly the tuna. It was pricy but well worth it! I highly recommend this joint.

What a different experience! We decided to give Endo another try this weekend. The staff was very friendly and accommodating this time– constant drink refills, and checking on us several times during the meal. And the sushi was excellent. I really liked the California roll, but my favorite would be the shiitake mushroom roll. The plum and mint roll was a little odd, but what do you expect from plum and mint! Overall we were really satisfied and would definitely go back.

Right near my office, and I’m very thankful for that. The fish here tastes very fresh and high-quality. It’s about a dollar or two more expensive than Ichiban down the street, but definitely worth it. The interior of the place is very nice, not cramped at all, and the service, contrary to one of the reviews I read on here, is consistently excellent. Even when the place is busy, they seem to get food out quickly and efficiently. I dig the special rolls, but usually end up getting a lunch special combo with sushi or sashimi. Right now they have this awesome udon special, which is spectacular. Also, free hot tea.

Wanted to wait-out rush hour traffic so I stopped by to eat, as I am a huge sushi fan. My party of three started marking off rolls that we wanted to get from the sushi checklist. At the end of it, we checked off about 7 specialty rolls which wouldve been around $ 70. We asked the friendly staff if they offered any sushi boats or sushi specials as they were not on the menu. The staff asked the sushi chefs and they said that they could make us a customized sushi-special worth $ 70. We told the waitress some of the items that we would like to try. and the chefs put it together! That was very surprising because service like that isn’t too common unless you’re a regular to an establishment, so we were very happy lol I think we also got more than we paid for but I’m not complaining! If I lived closer to McLean I would definitely goto this place more often.

A lot of people are surprised when I say I LOVE sushi, since I’m also a very outspoken vegan. And while I miss my days of sashimi and spicy tuna rolls, I am just as happy with a veggie roll. I was trying to find a good sushi restaurant near Tysons to meet a sales rep from work. I picked Endo because it got good reviews and seemed at least somewhat veg-friendly. And it was a great choice. It’s kind of a random location, on the second floor of a weird strip mall/business park area. But as soon as we walked in, it had a nice feel. Our server was BEYOND nice. She was so sweet. They have a large menu with plenty of rolls to choose from, as well as tempura and the other standard sushi restaurant fare. I got a seaweed salad, a vegetable roll and a shitake roll. It was all really tasty and well made.(I’d never seen a sushi roll incorporate lettuce before!) My fellow diners got fish-related rolls and were equally as pleased with those. I liked that they had a good selection of veggie rolls(5+), whereas often times there might just be a cucumber or avocado roll to choose from. Between the service and the food, not real complaints. I only gave it 4 stars because I’ve been to several other sushi restaurants that basically offer the same experience. Nothing outstanding here, but definitely a good place to go if you’re looking for sushi in the ‘hood.

Hey feel like wasting an hour of your time and go home hungry? Then Endo is the place for you. Went on a Sunday afternoon they had 2 sushi chefs«working» the place only had 5 customers. I sat at the sushi bar ordered tempura vegetable appetizer and thought it took a long time to get considering they were not busy. When it arrived I had five small pieces of food and the dipping juice tasted like brown hot water and I had to add soy sauce just to add some sort of flavor. I had long put in my sushi order of a rainbow roll and 2 piece each of smelt row and sweet shrimp nothing elaborate by any means, Forty minutes later still no food. My patience ended after 50 min. I walked to the cashier and asked for my bill of what I did get but the waitress didn’t know how to handle that and said she has to go outside and get the manager. The manager came in and said she was sorry and that she wasn’t going to charge me for my vegetables and brown water. I read the other reviews and thought I was safe going here. All I can say is Caveat emptor.(buyer beware)

I tried this sushi joint to round out all the sushi joints in McLean. I found Endo to be a very typical sushi bar. Nothing outstanding, and nothing really bad. Just average. I went there for lunch and ordered a spicy tuna handroll, which was pretty good, the spicy tuna/salmon salad, which was pretty bad, and the sushi/sashimi combination, which was pretty average. The handroll was tasty and made well. The spicy tuna/salmon salad, which I thought would be spicy fish on top of a bed of salad turned out to be a nightmare. It was diced fish mixed with some sort of ketchup tasting sauce along with shredded lettuce in a blazing red heap. This cost almost $ 8 and should probably be taken off the menu. I found the sushi/sashimi combination to be ok. The cuts were tuna, salmon, flounder, shrimp nigiri, and a cali roll. Nothing more creative than that. And, the pieces of fish were small. I guess the good thing out of this meal was not only the hand roll, but that the lunch entrée came with soup and salad. The service was slow as the one waitress was overwhelmed with the lunch crowd. Got a refill of tea as they were giving me the check. I would put this place on the bottom of the list compared to Tachibana, Miyagi, Ichiban, and then Endo. Not a bad place for sushi, but I can’t see a reason to come back.

Oh Endo Sushi. You make me happy. The service at the McLean location(haven’t been to the other one) is pretty awesome. They are attentive and prompt and make an effort to make polite conversation, and will remember you as a repeat customer very soon after your first visit. The atmosphere is good — unlike Tachibana, which I find to be overcrowded and stuffy — Endo is fairly open, and even when it’s jammed full of people, it never really feels that way. The fish is always very good — good quality, very fresh, definitely the best sushi I’ve had in Northern VA to date. The reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars(because the restaurant deserves it!) is that their parking lot only has one handicap parking place, and it’s almost always taken by a non-handicap driver. My boyfriend(who is paraplegic) and I often have to park several blocks away and hoof it. Thanks, jerks! As for the restaurant, it is completely accessible otherwise, including the bathrooms. Go! Order the Dragon Roll.

The Endo chain came highly recommended. I cant say I was disappointed but I wasn’t blown away. The sashimi pieces were fresh but a bit on the small side. The miso soup had tofu and scallions but not enough of either. I would go back if someone wanted too but I still prefer Tachibana.

There are actually quite a few places to get sushi in McLean, Endo being the newest edition. I have to give this place credit– it’s small, but I love the atmosphere and the hostess is so sweet and friendly. The prices aren’t cheap, but it’s not outrageous. There are specials written on white boards and a decently large menu. Their udon is good, sushi is well presented and fresh, and even their katsu is decent. Stop in here for lunch or even dinner.
