4 Service Pros

I’m halfway through a project with them and these guys are life-​savers. Or at least home-​savers. My new home’s basement shower and toilet started backing up (for clarification — really old house, newly finished basement, and I’m the new home-​owner). They came out to work on it this morning and left. I went to shower and realized the issue wasn’t fixed. I called back in a panic that they’d taken my money and not done the job… I didn’t know at the time I had nothing to worry about. The manager (David) said he’d be to my home in less than two hours with the original plumber at no extra charge to see why the issue wasn’t fixed that morning. They began working on the issue again. They worked; called in two extra plumbers (so a team of four now while I’m panicking that we’re going to have to dig up the concrete in the basement); pulled out the biggest, most terrifying snake and head they could find; and really attacked the issue 40 feet down my main pipe. Four hours later, they’ve pulled out (along with a lot of other disgusting stuff) three solid pieces of lead from the pipe joint stuck in the pipe. They have to come back and finish the job, but at least I have running water again and no sewage spilling into my family room. They were so professional and really worked hard at the job. I can’t recommend them enough. You might be able to find someone cheaper, but the extra was worth it for me when I knew I had an entire team of four plumbers working so hard in my new (old) basement. (Side note — if you aren’t satisfied with the service, don’t panic! Call them back. Great customer service.)

We had just closed on our home and not 30 days later our well pump decided it was time to die. Our home owner insurance sent us a plumber that came out once to assess the problem and was supposed to provide us with an estimate. He called once after many attempts but never ever provided us with an estimate nor did the company really do anything to provide us with service. How can anyone give us the run around and do nothing about the fact that we had no water. 3 days had lapsed. In desperate need of running water in our home we called several places (outside of our insurance) and 4 Service Pros was one of them. They really listened to us and I’m sure felt the urgency and frustration in our voice. They came out and was very professional, prompt and they really knew what they were doing. Great service! Our pump was installed and finally water running in our new home. I was in tears… Tears of happiness! The owner spoke to my husband during the whole ordeal and he was very helpful! Great experience with this company. The reception was extremely nice. They work with be on a good time to come by and provide an estimate. The plumber was very professional. He call to tell me when he would be arriving. Cost was completive and the work was done to my satisfaction. I will use 4 Service Pros again in future and would highly recommend them.

I called them and made an appointment to have someone come two days later from noon — 2 pm. I waited at home until three but had something to do so I didn’t have a chance to call them and figure out what was going on. I called them the next day (Saturday) with no answer. I emailed them the following Tuesday explaining that I had an appointment for a quote to repair my floors and no one ever responded.
Unprofessional.
I could have done more to contact them but I’ve been busy trying to get my condo restored. However, I would have expected a little more from this company.

I found 4 Service Pros on Angie’s List. I usually dread dealing with plumbers, but I have to say that this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I have been in my home over 22 years and suddenly noticed a knocking sound when I showered. It turns out that my water valves needed to be replaced. The service guy ensured that he showed me the issue, explained my options and made recommendations based on the age of my home. He pointed out that some of my piping would not be allowed today; however, his motto was «if it’s not broken, don’t mess with it.» He also replaced all of the flappers in my 4 toilets and showed me how to replace them in the future. Because the cost of the valve replacement was so expensive, he did not charge me labor for the flappers — just the cost to replace. This company seems very trustworthy and very concerned about customer satisfaction. In addition, I felt as though this plumber wanted to ensure that I was educated about potential future issues and trends in plumbing. I wish I could give more stars as I was very pleased. Generally most of my Unilocal reviews have been negative. It’s great to find quality service that inspires you to want to write a positive review.

Outstanding owner and company!
I came home from work after 7:00 pm to a flooded basement after a really hard rain. Our sump pump had failed. After spending a few hours cleaning up, I decided that I would have someone come out the next day because it was so late. I shot off e-​mails to two contractors and passed out.
I woke up to a call from Greg (the owner) a few minutes later. He offered to come out within the hour and fix the problem, and quoted me a price for installation of a new sump pump that was only about half the cost of the only other option I had found quoted on-​line (via Unilocal), and still quite a bit cheaper even with the added $ 160 emergency service fee. He and a plumber came out and had the problem fixed in under an hour — which was excellent as it had started to rain again and the water in the sump pump reservoir was rising rapidly.
I’ll definitely be calling these guys should the need arise — thanks to Greg and the team!

Got an Angie’s List drain-​clearing deal — and it was a GREAT deal! A stubborn clogged drain was fully flushed out — not without effort! — and now works better than it ever has. Service was not only fast and highly professional, but the technician was friendly and courteous and gave me some very helpful tips to keep the drain open.
Would give this 6 stars if I could.

Almost eight years ago, we had an electrical fire that gutted our house. Our shady insurance company hired an even shadier contractor, who created several bizarre NEW fire hazards — a fact we recently learned when appliances and lights began doing strange things and breakers were tripping for no apparent reason.
I’d had PHX out in September to install recessed lights in the kitchen and was very pleased with the job they did. So last week, after an appliance blew both the circuit it was on AND one to the heat pump on the other side of the house — twice — I called PHX in a panic. Greg, the owner, spent at least ten minutes on the phone with me that Saturday morning, listening to my description of the situation, explaining how we could safely use a space heater on the washing machine’s dedicated circuit (the heat pump had died after the breaker tripped the second time), and reassuring me that my house was not going to go up in smoke over the weekend. He came out Monday afternoon and did a thorough inspection of the entire house and garage, during which he provided me with a valuable education about the electrical doings of my home. Tuesday morning, he e-​mailed me a list of his findings and suggestions, prioritized from immediate concerns to those that could wait a while. All of this, at no charge.
Today, Mike from PHX came and took care of the most pressing work (live wire that ended in a piece of electrical tape, light switch that had inexplicably had the cover removed and the wires capped off, and a couple other things). What he’d anticipated would take maybe an hour turned out to take two hours but he spent the time necessary to do the job right without charging extra (and while still maintaining a good humor). I learned even more from him about how and why things worked (or not) as well as many interesting facts that will help me make decisions about future work we might have done to make our house even safer while using less energy.
PHX has consistently impressed me with their knowledge and professionalism. Their prices are fair, they’re generous with their time and explanations, and they clearly know their stuff. We have a lot of work to be done in the next few months (whole house surge protector, replacing the 30-​year-​old electrical panel, replacing exterior lights whose bulbs keep exploding for reasons unknown) and will absolutely be calling PHX to do it.
