First time here and will be back. My husband and I both had the ribeye and it was worth every penny. We ate at Saltgrass two weeks ago will not be back after eating here. Good music, comfy seats, and great atmosphere.

Very average. Over priced for quality of the food. I don’t know if maybe it was because it was a Sunday at 5:30pm(we had a little toddler with us) but the waiter just seemed like he wasn’t paying attention. He was attentive, but my mom got a salad completely undressed and there was no ketchup on my plate but ketchup on every other one. Food was basically ice cold. We all got sandwiches and the meat to bread ratio was awful. Barely any meat but a good 1.5″ of bread. I’d go elsewhere for steak/seafood.

Drinks are good but food is not so great. If you are going to spend money on steak get it somewhere else.

Service was good but food was not. Had the redfish, it was dry and over cooked but not terrible. Wife had crab cakes and they were terrible. Almost no crab and bland. They were served on a bed of wilted spinach.

Very pricey. Forty dollar steaks. Cheap if you get a sandwich. Worst crab cakes I’ve ever had… but some of the best steak I’ve ever had from a restaurant. Sides were bland but the steak made up for the short coming. Not sure about anything else as my date had steak also. And pretty good service. Loud like a bar too.

It seems like each place we visit gets high marks. This isn’t because we are unfamiliar with good food, we’ve simply relied on Unilocal to drive our choices. Arrived for a very early dinner and the restaurant was virtually empty(5 pm). This isn’t terribly uncommon in downtown so no concerns there. Our waiter, Steven, was exceptional. Asked questions, made suggestions and even offered some insights about things to do in the area. Service was very prompt from the kitchen and we started with the stuffed mushrooms. Spicy and delicious. For dinner my wife had their house salad with steak while I opted for chicken. The dressing was perfect, made in house, and the portions generous. The steak was tender and well seasoned. Not a bad piece among them. Next trip; steaks! We passed on desserts but will certainly try on the next trip. All in all a great place to eat, wonderful service and food. Neat atmosphere that offers live music a couple of nights a week. Just off the square. don’t overlook this one!

Had brunch today(Sunday) at Louisiana St Grill. Food was ok, service was non-existent. Staff simply disappeared. Terrible experience today.

The restaurant is very clean and wait staff was nice. The live music and interim music was really loud! We got a burger and Baja chicken sandwich. The flavor was good but the buns were dried out and the chicken was over cooked and dry. We also shared the pecan pie. The first bite was cold so we assumed it wasn’t heated but when we took a bite from the center, it was extremely hot and my husband burned his mouth. We also ordered the Mac n Cheese to go and they left off the bacon crumbles. It’s too expensive for subpar food quality.

The food and service were both great! Our server was Lorena H, and she was very helpful and friendly. My husband had the filet and I had the salmon with the crawfish topping. Both were fantastic! We will definitely be back!

Nobody wants McKinney Historic businesses to succeed more than I do but I have to be honest. The jalapeño corn chowder soup was delicious. My fish tacos were o.k. My boyfriends seabass was o.k. The entrees weren’t anything to write home about. The service was good. The live music was nice. The ambience was not inviting. It could use booths. The prices don’t match up to the food or place. Wish them continued success.

When a restaurant deserves a great review, I’ll give it one. This isn’t it. I’ve been frequenting the Louisana st grill since they first opened. Always been good. Some items on their menu are great. Others, not so much. Their prices have gone up. Quite a bit. If the market supports it, more power to them. Tonight they had a couple of big groups. We sat at the bar. Us and two other people. We figured the service would be fine. We were wrong. The groups got all their attention. We were ignored. They should have taken those groups, and then closed the rest of the restaurant. Better no customers than unhappy ones. I’ve always recommended them in the past. Not tonight. When I’m a customer, I expect to be treated as though I am their only, or best, customer. My suggestion as a customer: Go have the margarita with St Germaine /Fleur Eidelweisse liquor. Go have the jalepeno corn chowder(Friday’s only). Skip the rest. Go somewhere else for the entrée. The food elsewhere is just as good. Communication with the customers is key. There was none until it was too late. Communication between kitchen and front of house is key. None apparent. Excuses make the restaurants’ problems the customers problem. Never make excuses. Apologize and fix it. Assure me that it’ll never happen again, and make me believe it. Then move on. Lick your wounds in private restauranteer. And, I don’t mind paying for what I get. Deductions from the bill or free drinks, don’t fix poor service. They fix poor food. The tip was $ 0 that is a reflection on the service, and it matched it perfectly. I’ll go back. My expectations are high but not unreasonable. They’ve done well before. I’ll give them an opportunity to do so again. For now, my recommendation is, proceed with caution. Strike one, Louisiana St grill.

Had a couple of visits and really like this place. Friday night and we had great cocktails and beer selection. Barman did a great job on the cocktails and the Tupps habanero beer was a great recommendation for sure. The margarita cocktails were amazing and we even tried their jalapeño corn chowder which was so nice. We then came back and had the brunch. Some great dishes and the omelette station was a great touch. Add in the $ 2.50 huge mimosas and you annoy go wrong !! Great find for us in Mckinney and we will be coming back.

Great food, great atmosphere, but service is really slow. The spinach artichoke dip is amazing. I highly recommend it. Also had the bacon wrapped salmon, which was good and very unique. Don’t go if you are in a hurry though. The service is really slow. We waited forever for our appetizers, then waited again a long time for our check.

Great little place right off the city square. They have a bar and restaurant and a place where live music is played. It’s a little dark inside, but a great atmosphere. I had a chicken salad and really enjoyed it. The service was a little slow, but very friendly.

We came here last night. The atmosphere was great! Live music was perfect! We had been twice before and decided to bring our family, who was visiting from out of state. However, we were disappointed with our waiter. We had to ask for water and bread. Our meal was good, but seemed a bit off from previous times. Our waiter asked us what type of dressing we wanted on our salads, and unfortunately, we never received them. We spent $ 250 on a meal for 4 and never got our salads. Disappointing because this place has such a cool vibe, that patrons wouldn’t mind spending for a quality experience, a little effort goes a long way!

Its okay. I know a lot of the locals love this place. Nothing wrong with it at all. The food was good, the drinks, okay. Waiter was awesome. But something is just stopping me from giving it 4 stars… I don’t know. Its just so borderline. If you live in McKinney, definitely hit it up once just to check it out… but the vibe is just different.

Definitely overpriced for the food quality. My Ribeye was chewy with very few pieces able to be chewed easily and without a ton of effort. Some pieces I had to discard. I’ve eaten better steak at Outback Steakhouse and other establishments. You must be paying for the location in Historic McKinney or something because I just don’t get it. With that said my wife was fine with it so maybe it’s just not my «cup of tea». Won’t be back!

This place is worth the drive, the wait, the whatever keeps you from coming here. I had the Cedar Plank Salmon, holy fuckin’ shit! It was amazing! The drinks and beer selection is also great, live music, comfortable environment. Loved it.

Food was tasty and good, but for the food prices I’m not so sure I’d come back. We came during a slow part of the day so service was good, food was prepared fast.

It looked interesting from the outside but upon entering it felt very pub like. The menu is limited and nothing stood out. The appetizers were bar food: wings, nacho, fried stuff. I settled on the shrimp po boy and hubby had the black and blue steak. The po boy was decent. The shrimp didn’t taste frozen and was well seasoned(almost too salty). The was bread nice and soft and veggies were fresh. Hubby’s steak looked surprisingly good and he liked it enough. He was glad there was not a ton of blue cheese. It was OK but we aren’t likely to return. Tip: bathrooms are clean but no changing table for kiddos
