Since they built the new courthouse, you lose access to eating in the downtown square in McKinney. That said, the food is what you would expect at a courthouse: meatloaf; chicken wraps; pre-cooked hamburgers. If you expect to carb load, this is your place. Otherwise, you can choose the vending machines or if you are«lucky» enough to get an extended stint as a juror, bring your own meals. I will commend the employees, they are all very nice & helpful.

Had King Ranch Casserole on Mon Sept 22 with verde green sauce on the side and carrots. It tasted pretty good but I noticed the temperature of the food was not hot enough. I ate it anyway because didn’t want to be late for jury duty. Got dismissed from jury duty around 3:00. I had to make a stop on the way home. By the time I got home my stomach was rumbling… Monday night and all day Tuesday was not fun. I was fine Wednesday. I would not have even written a review had not when I called this morning to just give them a heads up that the low temperature of casserole may be why I got sick. V was like I ate it and I didn’t get sick and no one else got sick so you had a 24 hour bug. It wasn’t our food.

It’s hard to right a fair review for a café inside if the courthouse but here goes. I had breakfast here and the eggs, bacon and toast was cooked nicely. The service was a little kludgy in that the same person writing orders was the same as the cashier which created a line based on where attention was not given.
